Live, Laugh, Relax with Cam and Fam Completed 7/31 - Page 83 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Great finish, Cam! And I love those final Photopass pics. Sorry about the rain. I probably would've waited for the boat back to the BC! Glad your flight home was uneventful. Looking forward to your final thoughts.

Cam, I am sooo sad this TR is over. But, I have thoroughly enjoyed every second coming along on this amazing trip with you. Sure you can't fit in another October trip so I can read another TR sooner than next June? (although I'll still get to read next June's TR before my next trip )
Another fantastic report Cam, so sorry it has come to an end. LOVE the Crocs - where did you get them? OK what are earplanes and where is this great place called Property Control - do tell. I loves me some Dr. Pepper too so I can fell Stefanie's pain. I think you have set the record for longest report so far...83 pages and over 1225 posts- you go girl!
So sad!
I really looked forward to coming and reading your daily updates!
Wouldn't it be great if you guys were able to go again this fall, like you did last year?
I know - wishful thinking! But you can always dream!
Looking forward to your final thoughts on this trip!
How nice to squeeze in every possible Disney minute! I love a late flight home. Glad your trip went smoothly and you made it home safe and sound. I've so enjoyed your entire TR... thanks so much for bringing us along!!!
Another awesome TR!!!! I am so sad that it is ending! Thanks so much for sharing it with us! all the beautiful photos you took & also seeing the scrapbooks you did of the trip. (and I the Mickey Crocs!)
Cam your trip report has been awesome. Thank you for sharing your memories, thoughts and pictures. It was so nice to have a daily Disney Fix thanks to Cam.
Can't believe your trip is now over. But you all had such a great time and you get to look forward to your next trip in the works in June. We are planning to vacation next June also.
I loved your TR. Thank you so much for the pictures of the MSEP. I get to see it after all!!!! I loved all your pictures especially the ones of Stefanie with the characters. She has a great sense of humor. Thanks for sharing your trip.
Really hate that this TR is coming to an end . We were thinking about trying Teppan Edo on our honeymoon in May, but I was wondering if it is like the Japanses restaurants around town? I love Japanses food it is my fav. does Disney do any special to it? I love the noodles, those you dont get at many of the restaurants.
We have a Shoguns here in Owensboro that is similar to Teppan Edo, but it lacks the Disney magic. We get the noodles there, too, which is great because they are Stefanie's favorites as she isn't big on veggies.

I wonder if it would be an okay place to take a 16 month old too.? What do you think? Maybe it's something to think about for our upcoming trip since we will be visiting Epcot for a day.
The only thing I'd be concerned about would be the proximity to that very hot grill.

We have gotten the AP discount at both lunch and dinner.

What a great view of the castle from the dessert party! I hope we get a good seat in a few days! I love that pic of the blurry Tink coming from the castle!
Interesting about the video – wonder how much that will cost?! But definitely something that people will want.
So excited that ‘paging Mr. Morrow’ is back! I love that!!
What a great meal at Teppan Edo – that’s on our ‘to do’ list.
You definitely need to see Pixie Hollow and the Princesses while you can without torturing 2 little boys.

I really hate to see your TR end. I look forward to reading it each day.
That is a hard choice. Right now I'm still remembering enjoying Teppan Edo better this trip than Le Cellier.

The boat unfortunately was not running due to lightning. At one point we thought it was going to allow folks to board, but when we stood up (and there were quite a few folks under the shelter waiting), they told us it wasn't running still.

I got the loafer Crocs at World of Disney. Earplanes is a brand name of ear plugs that I learned about on here quite a few years ago. They are the same kind as the ones pilots use. They help with the changes in cabin pressure, especially during take off and landing.
I never did get the location of Property Control from the nice guys. I'm not sure they could tell me since one of them was still working for Disney. This TR has gotten quite long indeed!

I had noticed that the National Council of Teachers of English is meeting this November in Orlando, but money is tight this year at my school so I haven't even asked to go.

Just the other night as I was tucking her in, she said, "Mom, it's almost Disney time!" I couldn't help smiling at her wonderfully positive attitude. I reminded her it was still over 10 months, but that didn't dampen her spirits at all.

I have attended an awesome technology training Monday through Thursday of this week. Then today was a mandatory professional development day, so I am now exhausted since I had been used to get 9 hours of sleep a night instead of 7. My brain just couldn't focus tonight on my final thoughts, so I'll compose those tomorrow and officially finish this TR. for following along!
I am not ready for your trip to be over! : I keep waiting for one of those "movie moments" where you wake up and it was all a dream and it is really only the second day of your vacation.
That's really interesting about "Property Control"...I have a friend whose sister worked for Disney several years ago and she went for a visit during that time. When she came back she brought all kinds of Disney merchandise and presents for everyone. I remember her saying that Disney had a private store for Disney employees (and apparently they could bring guests) that sold stuff that had been discontinues or stuff that was lost and never claimed. She also said that they had furniture that they had moved out of resorts or offices and that it was all incredibly inexpensive. She had brought me back a really cool key chain with Eeyore and all the Pooh friends and a Minnie coffee mug. After all these years I have never heard anything about it again till now. How totally cool!
Thanks Cam! It's been a great ride! I can't wait to read your final thoughts. You're going to have to send me your dates for next year and see if we can't manage to be in the World at the same time again! I just love your fam!
