As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Wheeee! I can't say I'm too surprised based on your comments on Melanie's TR and your descriptions of Arnaud's obsession with the Trans-Atlantic. It's so great and you have to start your PTR very soon!
What a lovely evening! I'm impressed with Josie's eating. Could she teach my 2 a thing or two? And they are too cute all passed out in the stroller!

So excited about your cruise, I have to say each time I would read one of Melanie's posts I tried to figure out how I could pull the kids out of school and me out of work for two weeks....I would be in heaven.
I'm with you Meg! Ever since she told us she was going and I looked it up it's been at the back of my mind. So jealous!!
Josie is quite the adventerous eater, way to go! Everything looked really yummy
I'm so excited for your cruise!! I've been so jealous of Melanie's trip, it sounds like they had an absolute fantastic time, and I know you will too!!!!
Great update! The food looks wonderful! I love tequila, so those shots would put me in heaven (although I would be acting a bit funny after them!)
So excited for your cruise! That sounds like an absolute dream. I cannot convince DH to do a cruise while Teagan is so young, so you will have to let me know how it goes with Andre and maybe I can change his mind.
Ok all caught up. Glad to hear you were able to find a CM to help you with the daybed situation. Hopefully you don't run into the unhelpful CM much on this trip.
What a wonderful time at Epcot! How cool for Josie to be able to see all the stuff growing considering she's interested in it. There's always something in WDW to peak the interests of anyone.
Also, what an ADORABLE picture of the kids in the stroller asleep. Looks like your little man has grown up quite a bit since your last TR. He look like such a big guy!

Oh yeah, I meant to say this too. Thanks Kelly. How in the heck do you get her to try, and like, all those different kinds of food? It takes me forever just to get Hope to actually try something new, and then it's a whole other feat just trying to actually get her to swallow it.
Kudos to Josie for her willingness to try different foods The pics of your kids are just adorable. And believe it or not, I have been to WDW at least 8 times now and have still not tried the GM or GG slushie. Don't know what my problem is, but I think I had better rectify this when we go next year so I find out what all the hype is about. I am sure my DH would have no problem 'sharing' one with me.
Congrats on your cruise...that sounds amazing! DH & I will be married 25 years this month and I told him I would like to take a Disney cruise to celebrate, but probably not until next year. I have never cruised before, but figure DCL is the best place to start
Looking forward to reading more of your adventures!
OMG, all the food looked delish. My oldest DD will try just about anything, but my younger DD is like me and is scared of new things. I have gotten better in my old age! lol
Love the pic of your babies fast asleep in the stroller.
Congrats on the cruise change. I imagine it will be amazing!
Checking in and all caught up! Other than a couple hiccups, your first day sounded great! Josie was quite the adventurous eater...go girl! Your kids are absolutely adorable...love the stroller pic!

Not so sure about gourmet eater, but she was more willing to try new things on this trip, and that was GREAT!!!
I would have a hard time pulling her out of school for 2 weeks if it wasn't for the fact she will be in kindergarten. Arnaud has 5 weeks of vacation....paid. I do not I can arrange to take as much time off as I need, but I am paying for that though. However, this just seemed like a good fit at a good time.

The food from your stroll around Epcot looks delicious! And of course, how can you beat a French FAB?!
We're staying at BC for the first time in December. I'm looking forward to the walk through IG - especially at the end of the day. Hooray for no bus!
Yeah, the walk home from Epcot at night was pretty awesome I have to say. enjoy that!!
Our plans for after the cruise depends on if Arnauds Aunt and Uncle are around. They live half the year in Cannes and half the year in Cali. Funny that the 2 times I have met up with them was in Cannes, and not the US. If they are in Cannes, of course we would love to go see them and let them finally meet their great niece and nephew, but looks like getting to Cannes from Barcelona is a long drag. If they aren't there, we will spend about 2 days in Barcelona and fly home. All up in the air at this point.

So, I'm wondering if these market booths are something new or something that I've just always overlooked when I was there during the F&GF??? If not, I'll be sure to check them out next time. And I'm a big fan of the GG over the GM too. I just like my drinks a little more on the citrusy side.
The food booths are new this year, but I think they were a huge hit and I would be surprised if they didn't bring them back. It was like a mini food and wine festival, and Josie just went nuts over the gardens they would grow and then sell the food. It was really cool and really good!!

You are so lucky that your kids are such good eaters. My son will eat but once he finds something he likes, he doesn't like to try new things. It's always a battle lol Looks like you were all having a great time eating and playing around the world
It is still a battle with Josie as well, but for some reason on this trip she was more eager. I really think it is because of her new found love for planting and growing, then eating what you grow....IDK

Josie is still hit or miss with new foods, but this trip was great!!! Kelly, you saw the price on that cruise, and it really was too good to pass up. I think I may be into those sailings from now on.....maybe.

We took Andre on a DCL cruise was he was 9 months old, I would do it again in a heartbeat!!!

That is so true, every visit to WDW the kids are into something new that will then make the trip a whole new experience as well. This is why we go back.

I think the whole growing a garden at home and then her seeing the plants and food they were growing sparked a bit more intrest with her. While she wouldn't finish an entire dish, she would eat most of it, and I was super happy.
