As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

That is a cute bag! It does look similar to the 31 I have so maybe I'll bring it as a back up for me.
What about an ADR at Askerhaus? That way Josie can still see the Princesses.
Come to think of it we don't eat CS too much at Epcot, but I don't think you can go wrong with anything there. At MK we usually eat at CHH, Casey's or Cosmic Ray's.
First off, you do not need to lose 10 more pounds! Second, I totally get you about the ponytail issue and loosing the spunk. I feel like I'm in that boat right now. I love the bag and hope it works for you in the park. I feel like I just went through that, oh yeah, I did.

And I totally had to laugh about this becuase I do this with Hope too. It's the only way I can get her to try on a bunch of clothes all at once, and it seems to work, so I just go with it.
Love the bag, looks like the perfect size. I can totally understand cancelling CRT for your last morning, I would want to enjoy some extra park time as well. Love the other dining choices, at the MK we love Peco's Bill's. Maybe you can add in a meal in Norway to get some princess fix.
The new bag looks great! I'm not big on prints, either, but for VB I'll make an exception.
Love the food plans. I always go to Harbor House for QS at MK. I love their Lighthouse Sandwich-- broccoli slaw and hummus on delicious whole-grain bread. I like the rooms there, too. Never seems to be as crazy as other QS places. I don't do stairs, but others say the room upstairs is especially nice, especially the tables with a window view. 28 days!!
Thanks! CHH is on the short list

At MK, we like casey's, peco's bills (they have the fixins bar for the burgers) and we have also eaten at Columbia Harbour House and I think it was Pinnochio's because Sam wanted meatballs and they actually had pasta with meatballs there as well as meatball sandwiches. For Epcot we love fish and chips counter service and mexico!
We do have R&C booked for Sept, looking foward to it too.

HAHA, that made me laugh........I'm really loving Vera about now.

Now...if only I could see that bag in person to see if it would hold all I need it to hold (Epi-pens, inhalers...) ...hmmmm... how could that happen??
We've eaten at Liberty Inn a bunch. They've got the allergy free chicken nuggets so Jason can have something other than pizza. The burgers are good and I had some kind of a wrap thing that was good too...and of course the fries are good also Sunshine Seasons is good too. Lot's to choose from. And I had a veggie wrap of some sort there once that was HUGE.
In MK I now LOVE CHH!! It took me forever to remember to eat there, but I've now had the tuna sandwich and the humus sandwich (Fave!) and yes, the upstairs eating area is really nice. You can get a table right over the walkway between LS and FL. Josie would love those little windows to look out of.
Oh, and....28 Days!!! Crazy!!!
WELL.......you will see it one Sunday!!!! It's actually got alot of room, I'm bringing my Epi-Pen this trip. Flowers=Bees, probably a good idea to have with me
Got LTT booked for Sept, but CHH has me hungry after looking over that menu!!
I'll fill you in more in just a few short days

Aww, Thanks Cam. I remember when you cut yours a few yrs ago and I just loved it. I have had mine short before, but now....I'm really into it. I so hope we see Remy! That would be so perfect.

As for counter services: MK, Casey's and Pecos Bills. I think we are going to give Cosmic a try this year just to change things up a little.
And at Epcot: Sunshine Season and the Bakery in France are our common stops. I haven't gone back to Electric Umbrella since our Honeymoon because the birds were bold and jumped up on our table and stoled Don's fries.
Another vote for your bag too. Hmm since I don't really need a diaper bag anymore more I should try a VB bag.
When I was pergnant with Josie I just loved the burgers from EU......? So strange.
I do love this Vera bag, you should try one out.

Juice is a different story, he will drink juice boxes or from bottles with a regular straw (like the minute maid packaging).
I went back and forth on this for awhile and in the end I will be taking my umbrella stroller for her. I have a feeling we will park it a lot and use it most for long bits of walking. Mine has a nice shoulder strap so in the airports I'll just use it that way. I wanted to go without one, but I do forget sometimes she is 4 and lots of walking does tire her out.

These darn 31 bags are everywhere now, and I'm kinda into them too
We did Norway 2 yrs ago, and it was OK, but I wanted to skip it this time. Everyone has good things to say about CHH!!

I did cancel that CRT the other day..........I actually felt good about it too thinking that another person could grab that so close to their trip.
Thanks everyone for the great feedback on some CS places. A lot of the places you all mentioned are on our list for Sept, espically Casey’s! That has become a family favorite. Sitting on the bleachers in the back too. I am thinking CHH or TT might be the winners. I did grab the WDW dining app for my phone, so it may just end up being whenever we are hungry and what is closest to us at the time. I am so eager to try SS in Epcot, but there are too many things I want to try there, so I will wait for Sept so Arnaud will be with me and we can try more stuff!!!
Last night I tried my hand yet again in the dreaded “craft project” I basically made a very short countdown calendar of just 8 days and made this very similar to what I made last fall for our cruise. But I have to tell yous guys (I’m so Jersey) something…………….Home Depot is on to us!!! YUP. The Mickey head paint samples that we all love to …..uhm, well……..take home in large quantities for craft projects…………yeah well, I think they are getting rid of them because when I went in there the other day, the choices of colors were VERY limited. They have been going to normal paint swatches. DRATS! So I grabbed what I could (and then also purchased some potting soil so I didn’t feel too bad) and was off to start “crafting”. This is what I came up with. The Tink pouch at the bottom holds the Mickey heads that will mark off each day. I took a pic of this when I was done too……………..remember that last statement though.
Sooo. 3 weeks from today…………….3 WEEKS from today we will be in DISNEY!! Which means 2 weeks from today I will be spilling the beans to Miss Josie. I know with her it is best to start “planting a seed” rather than just springing this on her last minute. So the other day I showed her some pics of the Tink topiaries from the F&GF and also a video of the Royal Rooms. Just saying like …”wow this is where princesses sleep” and “look at those pretty flowers”. Josie was in awe of all of this and today she asked to look at those “pretty pictures” again. Plan is working!!! So moving on to today, if what happened today is any indication of how are trip might go down, I will win best mommy ever!!!! I took Josie to see a new show in town that a lot of our friends and family are in. We sat front row and she was pulled up on stage, dancing and spinning around, having the time of her life. She couldn’t stop hugging me and telling me that this was “The Best Day EVER!!!” My face hurt from smiling so much, just knowing what is in store. After the show we did a little outlet shopping and went to dinner at Applebee’s, she asked to look through pics on my phone and I was all sure kid. She started skimming through the show pics and then spotted the “countdown pic” I grabbed the phone so quick and just put it down. She never made a peep or even started an argument over me just grabbing that from her. I’m not sure if she realized what it was or not, but she didn’t ask any questions and I just went on about something else. Party Foul!!!
Next time you have to erase the evidence!!! It is a cute countdown though, and even though this wasn't on the TR, that video of her on FB was ADORABLE. If you thought your face hurt from smiling so much then, just wait until you spring this surprise on her.
We have never eaten inside Rose and Crown, we just always do the counter service and usually more than once since everyone loves the fish and chips and I think you get a good bit for way less than what you pay inside.
I think it is a good idea taking your umbrella stroller! If its the mcclaren you are talking about, we have one too and the shoulder strap is nice!

What a great mommy daughter day and preview of he trip! It's going to be so awesome! And now that you've 'planted the seed' it will be even better for the reveal
I love that she almost caught you!! That is so something I would do!
Can't wait for more details soon
I love the Vera Bradley pattern that you ended up buying! I hope you love your bag as much as my daughter and I love ours. Like you, I tend to stick with solid colors so I had to really step out of my comfort zone when I started buying VB stuff but now I love them and own quite a few different bags.
Your plans look great and I am sure you and Josie will have an amazing time together.
