Brent and Liz's Valentine's day/Anniversary TR: Slippers, Satchels, Special Cinderellas, Surprises, Friends...and Ducks? - UPDATED 3/24 COMPLETE! - Page 8 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Thanks for all the wonderful comments everyone. Pinky, if you were impressed then I tuly know it was a special night. Tabitha, I looked at the Cinderella pictures in your tr and its hard to tell if it was the same one. It wouldnt surprise me though. It sounds a lot like her.
Liz has one more day of work on a brutal stretch of days, then maybe we will hear her take on it, right hon?

2. Liz was doing much better with her sinus infection, but now her voice had definitely taken on a ‘Mickey Mouse’ type tonal quality. I assure you I did NOT take advantage of the situation by poking any fun at her because of this.
3. She said something about “My friend Princess Aurora told me about you!” But then smiled and said “I see your girl’s not here today!” Then I babbled something about my daughter because her favorite is Ariel, then Ariel said No No! I’m talking about the girl on your shirt!. Then it all made sense! She was talking about Cinderella
4. Well, we went into the room and it was her! She recognized us immediately and called us by name. It was totally unreal. She was happy to see us, asked us how we had been and asked us when we were going to have dinner at 1900 Park Faire. We told her tomorrow night. She looked at us and smiled “Is that a for sure thing?” I replied “yes” and she said “I’ll see you tomorrow night, then”
#5 Then it was on to see Eli in the parade. We were right there in the front row and got a good couple of pictures as he went by. I thought it was great to see this parade. It was a pretty unique opportunity.

My more accurate version.....lol. I think a funny story that happend that day slipped Brents mind....or at least he "forgot" to include it in the TR.....hmmm? Oh well, either way.....have faith! I am here to pick up where he is flawed, include what he forgets, and tell you what he doesn't want you to know! LOL So, as you could see from earlier TR photos, we had this princess flag in our window. Well, this flag just refused to stay up in the window. We would hang it up....come back to the room later and it was down. We were getting quite frustrated. So this morning after Brent took his shower he came literally running out of the bathroom....in his underwear. (now this is a key part....so remember it!) He looks at me and says "I KNOW, I KNOW! I know how to get that flag to stick in the window!" Why he was brainstorming this in the shower I don't know.....but that is neither here nor there. He proudly goes over to the desk and rips some adhesive from some wall stickers we had and is explaining to me frantically why THIS will work better than the clear sticky tabs I brought to hang it with. I guess he got so distracted by his incredible idea that he forgot what he was (read: WAS NOT) wearing. He rips open the curtain and starts to hang the flag. I suppose the first glance of people strolling by that did a double take and giggled was the first clue to him that something may just be amiss. WE ARE ON THE FIRST FLOOR, its high traffic. So, he turns 5 shades of red, closes the curtain and says "nothing to see here folks.....on your way!" I laughed so hard I about fell out of bed!!!!
Ok, so now on to the things he did address and my rebuttal. #1. Yes....an early riser. Ok, so we are on vacation and he STILL gets up before dawn! With an alarm clock! THAT I CAN ALSO HEAR!!! Let me just say it is a good thing he enjoys his morning walks.......it gives me time to calm down and realize that the horrible things I want to do to him and his alarm clock would only damper our trip. By time he gets back to the room I am usually showered and have somewhat recovered from the thoughts of using my nursing skills to store his alarm clock in a nice dark place........(I don't know what you are all thinking....of course I mean a drawer, to prolong battery life)
#2 No of course...he didn't make fun of me for my Mickey voice......anyone believe that!?!?!?!? I would talk, he would answer in Mickey voice and then laugh like a wild animal.
#3 All I've got to say about this is SERIOUSLY?!?!? LOL.....she pointed to your Cinderella necklace!! (And believe it or not, that is NOT something I imagined saying about my husband) and said "No silly!!! HER!!!" She very tactfully made fun of him.....she said "well I don't see any kids at this table......this trip is about YOU!"
#4 This Cinderella is amazing to us!! Just amazing! She has become our friend....we owe her so much for making our trips so memorable! We just love her!
#5 I was so excited about seeing Eli! I am such a Manning fan! I started out liking Peyton and the Colts but quickly just admired the entire family. They are so full of morals and doing good for others. It was a treat to be there and see him. I just know Peyton was lurking in the crowd somewhere with a proud smile for baby bro. Although I am not sure how he would blend in since he would tower over everyone.........
Ok.....another more accurate version tomorrow (hopefully)
Night all!!!

Well, the flag stayed up on the window the rest of the trip, didn't it? I would call that a success!

Brent
I think it was some pixie dust that kept that flag up. To help make sure Mr. Cinderella didn't play "I'm too sexy for my clothes" in front of the window again. Tee hee
Oh Brent...I could just see it now...But, it would have been SO much better if the underwear you were, ummm, modeling, at the window for your fellow WDW guests would have had Cinderella on it somewhere with the words Prince Charming printed on your, errr, hind quarters...lol sorry, I agree with Liz...I would have been laughing my butt off!!!
