We Turned Her Into A Disney Lovin', Character Huggin', Thrill Ridin' Girl! COMPLETED 7/11 - Page 8 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

What a great day! I'm glad that Selah enjoyed the rides, you could see the pure joy on her face in the pics. And the interaction with Mickey and Minnie, what a wonderful moment for all of you.
Well I had completely missed that you had started. I'm all caught up now though. Sounds like your drive went ok and you made it! Looks like a fun time was had at MK. We were at Epcot that day, but maybe we crossed paths at some other time.
I'm glad Selah liked the rides. Tony's isn't one of my favorite places to eat either. They do have a good lemon cake there, though. Selah looks like she's having a great time. it's nice the you got to spent time with just Asher during EMHs.
Liz
We were so relieved and thrilled that Selah loved the rides. We really didn't know what to expect and I was afraid she was not going to even want to stay seated for the rides and then she would not be able to ride.
Tony's will probably not be one we visit again unless it is in the very distant future and we forget. It just wasn't worth the $$ or time it took.
It was so fun being able to spend that time with him. The last time we were there he was only 4 and this trip was such a different experience with him. He is a big kid now.

Thanks! We were so happy she loved them too. It was a relieve. This was something we were really concerned about.

Thank you so much for following along! It was a very magical day! We all enjoyed see her reactions so much. Asher enjoys seeing her accomplishments and reactions to things as much as we do and it was so neat to see him just want to be with his sister and not miss any moment with her.

Glad Asher and the rest of you truly enjoyed the beignets. I them! How neat that Asher got some time with you two during EMH! Can't wait for Day 2.
When the CM came over and started talking with Selah, this would be the moment where I usually have to explain, "she cannot talk and she doesn't have very much communication but she is so sweet and loving" but I never had to say anything. She just knew and she was so sweet with her. Then when Asher was asked to go dance with the other kids he didn't because he didn't want to miss a moment of his sisters magic. I should add, Asher loves to dance and act and be the center of attention. He is not in the least bit shy.
The Mickey and Minnie reaction was priceless and something we will never forget.
The beignets... We loved them!
That time with Asher at EMH was awesome. It reminded us that he is a big kid now.

So sorry for the rude people at the parade. I hate it when people do that.
It was such a magical day!
The rude people were really frustrating because they were all over us. That does not help with Selah. I forgot to mention she started kicking, while in her stroller, at people. Oh well. Next time we will do better of keeping people off of us.

It's great that you got some "alone" time with Asher during EMH. I've don't think I've ever seen a 15 minute wait for Peter Pan -- that sure worked out great for you!
It was such a magical day! We were so excited with how well she did and how much she loved the rides as well as the characters, once she noticed them. I really think thats what it was with Daisy and Donald. She just didn't really notice them.
We loved being able to spend time with Asher during EMH! It really reminded us of how quickly he is growing up. He is a big kid now. The last time we were there he was not.

We may not have video but we will never forget that moment. It was such an awesome thing to see!

Thanks! We did get a lot done but it was not a super busy day (we have been on New Years Eve several times in MK) and with using the GAC we were able to get on the rides very quick.

I'm glad you found it! I saw that you were at Epcot in your TR. Maybe another day! We will see!
Before I get started with Day 2 of our park days I wanted to add a little something I forgot. When we got back to our room that night Mimi (Wanda) told Asher that Mousekeeping did not take his envelope he had for them. He had left it on the sink up by the mirror. It was not in a regular envelope. Asher and Mimi had made the envelopes together before the trip. I did not take any pictures of them. I don't know why. The were made from 5 squares of construction paper that had been folded several times and then unfolded and glued together at the corners. So, to try and give a visual, they were in a line and wire like diamonds. I don't know that that makes any sense at all. Anyway, once glued together they could be folded up to make a little package. A 2 in. square. Before folding them they put the money in then folded and tied with a ribbon. Then they put a tag on the outside that said something like, "Thank you Mousekeeping". They were decorated with stickers and drawings and also had a message inside.
When Asher found out they were not taken he was a little upset. I told him that the next morning we would put 2 of them on his pillow that way they would for sure see them when they went to fold up the Murphy bed. He was satisfied with this and then he was off to sleep to dream of our next day at DHS.
Here are a couple of pictures to leave you with until I get the next day up.
Asher and Emporer Zurg during EMH
Selah watching as Cinderella opens the sticker Selah had just given her. Yes, I said "open". Selah has stuck it to itself and Cinderella had to unstick it. Selah was just very excited to share her stickers.
We had pictures with Belle also but ours were not great so I will post them when my photopass CD comes in.
Great photos! The picture of Asher with Zurg is hilarious. I love the look on Selah's face in the Cinderella photo -- she looks quite pleased to share her sticker!
What a great first park day - glad Selah enjoyed the rides so much, sounds like you are going to have a little ride junkie on your hands. Her meeting with Mickey and Minnie - I had tears in my eyes as you described it. What an amazing moment for all of you....
