As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

315 MK, we go on Aladdin at 320, then watch Captain Jack's show by Pirates of the Caribbean, 345 Big Thunder, 4 Haunted mansion, 415 Small world, 450 monorail to Contemporary for ADR at Chef Mickey at 510, we take pictures with Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy. For dinner we had salads, fruits, seafood, cheese, herb bread, salmon, turkey, chicken, mashed potatoes, vegetables, lemonade, cheesecake, carrot cake, Mickey dome. Amanda gets a cupcake for her birthday. It was a very good buffet.
After dinner, we took the bus to AK at 635 for the EMH until 8pm, get to AK at 7, check the Rainforest Cafe store, then go on Everest twice then leave at 750, take bus to ASM, have pop at the food court then watch TV, DD does her homework, I write.
ok it's getting late and i am quite tired, stay tune for Thursday, September 10 where it's MK in the morning and DHS at night
Whew! I got behind fast!
Happy Birthday, Amanda! She is so cute with the flower in her hair!
The two of you look like you are really enjoying this trip! I'm loving the pictures.

Up at 7. Now DD and I decided on something: she likes to sleep in and she still had a lot of homework (her teacher gave her a big pile of homework to complete during her holidays, including writing an essay), so since i like to get up early and go in the parks, we decided that i would go in the morning on my own and she would sleep in for a while and then get up and do her homework and i would come back at noon, spend time in the pool and then we would head out together for our ADR for dinner and evening in the park. It turned out to work really well for us, really better than the previous trips where we would stay off site, which would mean get up early, spend the day in the park and come back to the hotel late. I didn't mind it as much (however, i like staying at the Disney resort and being able to come back in the afternoon way better), DD really used to get tired of spending the whole day in the park. I can tell you that from now on, I will always stay at a Disney resort. The value resort worked out very good for me. Since i go to WDW for a long stretch at a time (we stayed 17 days), i need to stay at a value resort. I would like to go back when there's free dining again and I would like to go in December when it's all festive. These are two of my plans.
Anyhow to continue with the report, had coffee at the food court, then took the bus to MK at 750 for the EMH. MK at 815. Had a cinamon bun at Main Street bakery ( i love those cinamon buns, they are the best, there's no where here in Edmonton that you can find good ones like this, actually everything at Disney is better than here, it's one of the many good things that i like about Disney - another one is the beautiful warm weather), so the park wasn't crowded, it was very nice, no line, i went to Snowwhite at 835, Peter Pan at 840, caroussel at 845, Dumbo at 855, Poo at 905, Mad tea party at 915, Speedway at 920, Astro Orbitror at 935, Tarzan's tree house at 950, Splash Mountain (as you can see i got to do lots of rides because it wasn't busy, it was great). Then see the show Dream along with Mickey at 1035 and then Celebrate it party at 11. AT 1130 have lunch at the main street bakery (it is really cool, with the CS ticket, i got a frozen latte for my drink, a cookie ice cream sandwich for my dessert - which i ate right away and i got a turkey sandwich, which i kept to bring to the resort). At 1145 bus to ASM Arrive at 1205, DD is sitting by the pool doing her homework (what a life hey? - how i wish i lived there, it would be my greatest dream). She had a good time relaxing and i had a good time in the park doing everything i wanted. We go to the food court, DD gets lunch (it is really good food at this resort - for dinner they have turkey dinner, chicken dinner, salmon dinner, quesadillas - pretty good for a food court hey?) So DD had a cheeseburger, an energy drink and an ice cream cookie sandwich, i eat my turkey sandwich from the bakery as well as pop with my mug. Then a friendly young (20 years old) cast member comes to talk to us and asks us questions -he's a university student from Wisconsin, then he shows us how to hula hoop and then the cast members are dancing in the food court and he shows us 3 dances, the manager took a picture of the 3 of us dancing and he gave us the picture. How nice! What a nice souvenir and i really enjoyed myself. I said to DD what a nice boy. (there will be more on that in the report - this is just the beginning) Then i go in the pool while DD lays in the sun. I love this pool, there's music, games, dances, it's lively, i love it. It feels so good. I don't want to get out. The palm trees, the sunshine, it's paradise on earth. But i have to get out at 315 as we have a dinner show The Spirit of Aloha at 515.
