As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Part 12~ Campfire Sing-along at Fort Wilderness
I have to back track a tiny bit for this, we actually went to the campfire at Fort Wilderness the night before MGM. We went to Epcot most of the day. Kory wasn’t feeling well *he caught a cold* so after we finished the World Showcase we went back to relax at our cabin. It ended up being the perfect time to try the campfire sing-along.
We took a bus over to camp-fire circle. It was really neat there, they have a big movie screen with wooden benches all around the front, and behind the benches they have bleachers. On the side of the movie screen they had a stage. They had two fire pits going.
The sing-along had started, we got a place in the bleachers and Kory went to buy a s’mores kit. Chip and Dale were there to meet everyone.
When Kory got back it was time to make some s’mores. The girls didn’t care for them, so they had roasted marshmallows instead. Kory, Dakota and me teased each other about who had the best s’mores *me obviously, just kidding*
They started the movie, it was Cinderella this night, and we watched for a little while and then decided to go for a swim. We took a bus back to our cabin to get our swimsuits. Dakota decides he is exhausted and doesn’t want to swim, so we let him sleep and walk over to the pool. The girls have a great time playing in the water. They play for about 1 hour.
We walk back over to our cabin and try the key, the light turns green but the door won’t open. We keep trying the key and can’t figure out why the stinkin door isn’t opening. We try knocking on the door, but don’t want to knock to loud because it is late. We try knocking on the window next to Dakota, but he doesn’t wake up *grrr* Kory walks back over to the pool and tries to call Dakota on the phone, but he still doesn’t wake up. It’s crazy because the phone is right next to his head. Finally Kory calls the front desk and they send someone over to help open the door. It ends up that Dakota had locked the bolt, so our key wouldn’t work. The cast member gets it open for us, and it’s finally time to get some sleep!!
Here are a few pictures of our cabin and Fort Wilderness. We really enjoyed staying here. We had plenty of privacy, people seemed very friendly and the cabin had plenty of room for us. There were cute little towel creatures in the windows, and the mousekeeper would always leave a towel creation for us too.
Fort Wilderness was nice too, they had a few parks to play at. They had two heated pools, normal pools, nothing special. There is so much to do at Fort Wilderness, there is fishing, horseback riding, trails to walk or bike on, and they have a store to buy groceries at. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to do everything because we had so many plans at the parks.
The transportation could be annoying at times, only because you had to take a bus from your cabin and then catch another bus to wherever you were going for the day, or boat if you were going to Magic Kingdom. It could sometimes take quite a bit of time out of your day waiting for all of the busses. We ended up renting an electric golf cart half way through our trip to cut down on a little of our wait time. But even with the transportation woes we still enjoyed our stay at Fort Wilderness. Next time we come *hopefully early Dec. 2007* we would like to stay at Animal Kingdom or at the Polynesian Resort. We cant wait!!!
Next up...Our last day at Magic Kingdom But...not our last day

Re: The ~See What A Little Wishin Can Do~ trip report
Trip Report 13~ Last day at Magic Kingdom But not our last day
It was our last day at Magic Kingdom. It was very important to us to do all the things we loved one last time. Luckily for us, it’s evening magic hours *yea*
We stopped in The Chapeau, and bought a graduation Mickey cap for a wonderful friend of mine who is graduating nursing school. We have it sent over to Fort Wilderness to pick up later.
Mikaela fell in love with Goofy’s Barnstormer, and decided that she wanted to try Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. We headed over that way and got fast-passes for Splash Mountain and got in line for Big Thunder. The wait wasn’t too bad, about 20 minutes. We took a funny before picture of Mikaela looking scared. It was finally our turn, and we had a lot of fun and giggles. After we finished we took a funny after picture of her *her expressions crack me up*
After we finished Big Mountain it was time for our fast-passes for Splash Mountain. Mikaela was not into the “big drop” at all so she and I went to play at the little play area underneath Big Mountain and Splash Mountain. Kory, Dakota, and Mariah went on Splash Mountain and had a lot of fun.
While we were in Frontierland we wanted to go explore at Tom Sawyers Island. The kids had a blast looking through everything here. They especially liked the Fort Langhorn area. They were running around playing in the buildings and having a great time. I read on some ones trip report about finding a paintbrush to give to a cast member for a prize, but we never found any. I’m not sure that they do that anymore, but it was still fun to look just in case.
Kory wasn’t feeling well, so we went back to our cabin at Fort Wilderness and he took some more medicine and had a little break. We grabbed the video camera so that I could record SpectroMagic and Wishes. They were only doing SpectroMagic once tonight so I wanted to make sure and get a good spot to see it.
The kids got into warmer clothes and we went back to spend the night at Magic Kingdom. SpectroMagic started tonight at 9:00, so we found a good spot to watch, it was about 7:30 so Kory went around taking pictures of the castle and statues while the kids and I guarded our spot.
It was starting to really fill up now, and we are so glad we found a spot early. It’s getting close for SpectroMagic to start, and security is trying to get people out of the parade route. *It must be a horrible job to have* Some of the people are rude, and not moving, but the security is still trying to get them to move. One family comes up to me and asks me if they can sit with us, I tell them “No, sorry but we’ve been saving this spot for an hour and a half” *are they serious, are we supposed to say sure, I’m sure all of these nice people behind us wont mind at all, nutheads* I hear the music start up and get the video camera ready and there are still some people standing in front of us, I start to panic a little because it’s our last night and I really want to have this on film. Somehow at the last second, security gets them all out of the way and we can finally enjoy the show.
After Spectro we move over a little to watch and record Wishes. I love this show so much, the music and fireworks are wonderful. We bought the Wishes soundtrack so we could always enjoy it.
When Wishes was over, we decided to go and see all of our favorites one last time. We went to Fantasyland and rode Dumbo, It’s a Small World, Peter Pans Flight and saw Mickey’s Philharmagic.
We went to Liberty Square to do Haunted Mansion while it was dark and spooky outside. For our last ride we went to Tomorrowland and rode Buzz Lightyears Space Ranger Spin. It was really cool, there was absolutely no line and they let us stay on the ride and go around again.
It was closing time, so we slowly headed out stopping in stores to stay just a little longer. Kory and I bought yummy Mickey Mouse shaped rice krispy treats, and got the kids some goodies. As we were leaving I kept turning around for one last look at the castle. We exited and took our last boat ride to Fort Wilderness. It was late, we all went to bed with our heads swimming with all of the fun we had at Magic Kingdom.
Memories of our sixth day…
The weather today was…Warm and sunny, in the high 80’s, needed jackets and long sleeves for night time though.
The best thing today was…enjoying all of our favorites one last time.
The worst thing today was…that it was our last day to enjoy Magic Kingdom for this trip. *but we will be back*
The funniest thing today was…Mikaela on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
Today we tried…Tom Sawyers Island, and the result was the kids had so much fun exploring everything.
The most magical moment today was…just letting go and being silly and fun with the kids, we had a great time together!!
Up Next~ Our parking violation at MGM

Trip Report~ 14…A Parking Violation
Today we went to MGM. It was early morning magic hours which of course we didn’t get to in time. I talked Mariah into doing Tower of Terror with me, so we grabbed some fast passes for Dakota, Kory, Mariah and me. We also got some for Rock N Roller Coaster for Kory and Dakota. We wanted to make sure and do all of the things that we missed last time, so we checked the show times. It was almost time for Beauty and the Beast live on stage, so we headed over that way and got some seats. We really enjoyed the show. I took a bunch of pictures.
It was time for our fast passes at Tower of Terror and went over to get in line. We decided to do the baby swap and I would ride with Mariah and then Kory would ride with Dakota. Mariah was a little nervous, but I figured she would be fine since she did Expedition Everest, and all the roller coasters at Magic Kingdom no problem. As we are waiting in line, Mikaela is starting to panic because she thinks that she will have to do it, and no matter how much I try to reassure her, she doesn’t believe me. It’s time for Mariah and me to go and we get in our places, Mikaela, Kory and Dakota get to ride the “real elevator” down and she finally calms down.
Me and Mariah get in the ride and she is looking really nervous. I tell her that I will talk her through it and not to worry. **spoiler alert** The doors close and we start to go up, the doors open and I am giving her play by play on everything that’s happening. We go a little higher and the doors open again and I tell her that we are not going to drop yet and how we will move forward, and that everything is ok. Its dark, and I ask her are you ready, its just about to drop…she looks at me completely panicked with tears in her eyes and says NO… I feel so bad and reach to give her a hug, not thinking about how when you drop, you fly up out of your seat a little, so I am trying to comfort her and hold on at the same time. I feel horrible for having her try this, I honestly thought that since she loved all of the other roller coasters so much that she would like it.
Dakota and Kory have a much better time, and Kory even got a little bit of it on video. It cracks me up every time I watch it!!
It was time for Kory and Dakota to ride Rock N Roller coaster. I took the girls to a bench and we had a little break to calm down. Kory and Dakota had a great time on the ride!!
It was almost time for our ADR at the Sci-Fi Drive In. We walked past Pizza Planet and saw a bunch of the characters out. There were big lines for Buzz, Woody, and Jessie, but no one with the green army men. I was taking pictures of one of the army men with the kids when I saw another coming up behind me, so I thought it would be funny to jump around fast and get his picture, I think I scared him and he had no clue what I was doing, ooops, but I got some good pictures of the kids with them.
We found the Sci-Fi Drive In and gave them our name, they called us back after only a couple of minutes. I love the theming in here, I love the stars in the ceiling, really cute. Me, Kory and Dakota ordered the burgers, and the girls ordered chicken nugget kids meals. The kids all got the drinks with the blue glow in the dark ice cubes. The food was really good here, especially after all of the counter service meals that we had. For desert we ordered the happiest celebration on earth cheesecake, and sundaes. They were yummy too!! When we got our bill it had “Parking Violation” stamped across the top, very cute touch, love it!!
Next up...second half of our day at MGM
