A Dream Come True First Cruise-completed 2/8/2012 - Page 8 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Awesome start, Jeff, the ship sounds amazing so far, I can't wait til we can do the cruise next year. Sorry to hear that you were in a lot of pain, I hope you got to relax at some point.
Started By having Breakfest at Royal palace I first ordered the trio Pancakes , french toast and i hink waffles and i will say i did not like it at all !! then our friends made a suggestion on the Pineapple french toast stack and i will say i used no syrup on it it was soooo good . while finishing up breakfest we met a make a wish family that was with our group she was a beatiful princesses we said hello and said hope to catch up with them at one of our meets . we went back to the room to sunscreen everyone down before exiting the ship . we caught up with our magical tour guides and walked down along the water since the straw market was destroyed they are along the water all the vendors .I looked in the water and i was schocked I said those pods looked firmiliar our friends said disney does life boat drills . I said they should do life boat tours . then we walked and all the people there are buy this buy that i'm like NO ! then our friends asked if they could buy the kids something how could i say no then Molly got a wicker bag with her name on it and philip got a t-shirt they were beyond nice to our family . we went into a few stores and on the way back we stopped in the rum store next to burger king they gave me a taste of the rum cake and my eyes rolled back that good , I had to buy a big one for me a small one for mom . after that we went across the street our friends said the waiter and waitress like candy so we got them some chocolate and our friends gave them rum cake . the last stop i made was at the hard rock in the Bahamas i got a shot glass for me and since our friends bought rum i had to get them a pint glass . Karin yelled at me for that lol then we made our way back to the ship and i got a nice picture of Atlantis and 3 ships in a row and you can tell which was the best of the 3 the middle one (Dream) . then we all went to lunch at the Royal palace and i think we all had Bugers they were good but again not Hot! after the appitizers and alot of water intake was in no mood to complain . After lunch back to the stateroom Cause my leg was not good , so i did laundry while family went to go swimming they had alot of fun but even with a not a sold out ship wife said there was alot of people in the pool . I finished the laundry about the same time they come back we got cleaned up for the next show was called the Villiens it was awesome show . after that we got the kids and headed to Animaters plate this was the best place i loved the food here and the atmosphere . it was cool with crush and friends . oh kids eat quick so they could go to oceaneers club ASAP. they came and got them and kids did not even say good bye lol. after dinner me and wife we went to our friends stateroom they had a verrandah it was so nice after dinner sitting out there and talking with truely great disney friends we just met . They were so nice i have to share they gave us there castaway cay club bag with everything !! I felt i hit the disney Jackpot which i did by having them as friends now . we picked up the kids went back to the room and organized for round 2 of FE gifts only Molly came with me we got back to the room around 1230am after another magical day .
Day 3 Sea day / Pirate night
I have to say it was really amazing waking up and looking at a beatiful sunrise and nothing but the Ocean you cannot make that into a picture . I took a few pictures then i got everyone and since we were near enchanted garden we thought it would be good to eat there but when we got there they were packed they said Cabanas was not so we went there . we go there i got molly her food wife got philip his then we went to get our food . I got steak and eggs up and some fruit it was OK . after we were done I had 2 hours before the first meet i put together with alot of thanks to a really nice manager at guest services for letting us use one of the confrence rooms . while i was getting things ready for the meet and since my leg was no right ,wife and kids went to the pool deck . when they came back they got cleaned up and since kids wanted the oceaneers club wife took them there while i started setting up . I wanted to have a photo pass photographer but they wanted to charge 85.00 which would not of been bad if everyone wanted to chip in . everyone started to roll in and we started to talk it was alot of fun but we had the room for an hour and a half so we started to take pictures and we got a great surprise Pluto was in the hall way and came in for a few shots it was so Magical . after we said our goodbys for this meet . it was almost time for our show and after the meet i was not a 100% so i told wife to go see show without me and i relaxed a bit . when she got back we only had to walk around the corner to enchanted garden for our pirate night dinner . the food was really good i had the ribs and the steak a soup and salad omg good . we skipped dessert and i will say never ask for nothing for dessert you will get NOTHING lol picture to follow . we hung around the atrium for some picture shots with charecters and without it was alot of fun . around 11pm we pick up kids and wife and philip hit the bed me and molly did some FE list as much as i could do then we called it a night .
Yay, you started your TR Jeff!

I brought alot of stuff from the pirate league from 2 years ago and DCL gave us bandanas for that night too . It was alot of fun it started with Music , then they shot off the fireworks I will be honest it was nice but i thought with disney it would be more . then it turned into a dance floor this is when alot of people left and they open a dessert bar in Cabanas Now that was good we caught up with a few friends and chatted a while then went to bed .
