10 Nights of Magic in The Orlando Trifecta-TR - COMPLETE!! 12/10 - Page 79 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Welcome! We're happy you've found the PassPorter Community -- the friendliest place to plan your vacation to Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Line, Disneyland, and the world in general! I enjoyed my experience in the Festival Center so much and I had a great time with the seminar!
I definitely needed my sleep after such a long day and even more with the EMHs and closing down the MK and getting the last ride on Space Mountain!

I keep wondering if the CMs were laughing as you came through the SM line over and over?!
When a person has a passion, they are so fun to listen to! I have recently started teaching mixology classes in my own home for fun. Your culinary class reminds me of how much fun it is to teach classes like this as well.
I have often wondered if sustainably raised fish are as much a problem as beef and pork are for the ozone layer. I mean, how much methane does a salmon produce? No idea! I am a meat-lover, and support humanely raised meats as much as my pocketbook and organization level can manage, but I have become more aware of the environmental effects of meat. Not pretty.

Never thought about that with the CMs at SM, but didn't notice anything. But, I wasn't the only one doing this. I enjoyed the class so much and Jennifer was quite passionate about it.

Will I Get to Experience a Tier Attraction Without a FP+?
Thursday, October 12th (Part II) After my culinary seminar in the Festival Center, I was hoping to get an attraction or two in before going to World Showcase for the Food & Wine Festival. Will I get to experience a tier attraction without an FP+? I was hoping to have good luck with this and so I headed for Test Track. I didn’t get to go on this the other day and better yet it was close by and has a single rider line, which can be an advantage.
When I arrived outside of Test Track, I saw the single rider wait time was listed at 10 minutes! I can certainly deal with this as I’ve tried it other times and been over 40 minutes. I went inside and designed my car. I was in my vehicle in about ten minutes. It was a great ride as always and especially the ending drive! Since, the wait was so short I made an encore of it and was on even quicker the second time.
After two enjoyable rides on Test Track I walked to World Showcase to begin my experience with some eats at the Festival. I wasn’t real hungry but felt I could have a few things. I had an ADR later tonight, but that’s not until 8:30 pm. It was probably around 2 pm currently.
Once, I arrived in World Showcase I took a right and stopped at the Hawaii booth. There were several things on the menu that interested me, but would just try one. It wasn’t that crowded, which was good as it was a Thursday.
Grilled Tuna Tataki with Seaweed Salad, Pickled Cucumbers and Wasabi Cream
Accompanied by Florida Orange Groves Pineapple Sparkling Wine
These were very good and especially the tuna which had a lot of variety of flavors. At least this year the pineapple wine was cold as last year it wasn’t.
After this, I headed in the other direction and to the Mexico pavilion. I wasn’t ready to have another eat just yet, but would just go inside and explore the pavilion as well as get into an air-conditioned environment for a while, which would be a welcome feeling.
Before, going inside I watched the band Mariachi Cobre perform some songs outside. I always enjoy them and a lot of other guests were as well.
I stayed for a couple of songs and then walked up the steps of the Mexico Pavilion to spend a little time inside as well as do some exploring. I think it’s one of the best pavilions in World Showcase and may be the best.
Funny sign as obvious many have tried this!
I entered the pavilion and just walked around for a bit and exploring the shops down the steps just prior to San Angel Inn Restaurante. I love the theming inside the pavilion, even if it can be a bit crowded at times. It’s quite relaxing and enjoy the change from the heat and humidity outside to a nice cool environment with a nighttime setting.
After checking out the shops for a while (I didn’t buy anything), I decided to take a ride on the Gran Fiesta Tour, which is always a fun ride. The line wasn’t that long and was in a boat within a few minutes. I always like the part of the ride as we cruise past the volcano and restaurant.
Soon I was done in here. I thought about visiting La Cava de Tequila inside the pavilion, but it was a bit too crowded for my liking and I also planned on some more eats and beverages outside in World Showcase for the festival. I have visited here in the past and enjoy it as they have an amazing variety of great margaritas as well as some good small eats.
Once, I got outside I decided to do a bit of walking and get some photos across the other side of the water next to La Hacienda.
The American Adventure
Morocco with Tower of Terror behind the trees
Germany
France with Swan and Dolphin Resorts to the right of the Eiffel Tower
After this, it was time for more eats and a stop in Mexico as I saw some things on the menu that interested me very much so!
So, what did I get?
Ribeye Taco. Marinated Ribeye, Roasted Chipotle Sauce and Grilled Scallions on a warm Corn Tortilla
I paired it with the below!
Spicy Apple Margarita
The two of these were excellent but I think the margarita was certainly the star! They call it spicy but it’s not spicy in a heat kind of way. This was the best new beverage I had during my trip and that’s saying something! One of the best tasting margaritas I’ve ever had! It’s not to be missed and plan to have one on another trip. I’d put this up with the Grand Marnier Orange Slush as best beverages in World Showcase! It was just so good!
After enjoying this, I took a bit of a break and found a bench in the area and just relaxed for a bit, while enjoying my margarita. Below are some photos of what I received in the gift bag from my seminar today. Although, I don’t have a photo of the apron as not easy to take one of displayed on a bench.
Small book by Jennifer Bushman with various salmon recipes
Ceramic Tea Trivet
My Disney Gift Card with Lanyard I used for purchases at the festival. Always, very convenient to have this.
There was still more to do in Epcot at the festival as well as a new experience for me in in the park I have never done before during my many trips.
NEXT: It’s Too Hot and I Don’t Feel Like Walking!

Seems like you are really enjoying the F&WF. I love all your pictures. The spicy apple margarita looks great. I just check my F&WF app and it doesn't look like they offer it this year.
Love the gifts that you got from the seminar. Did they give out the lanyards there too? Glad you enjoyed your tastings from the World Showcase so much. The apple margarita sounded delicious.
Dave, we're twins!! I got that same trivet for my beverage seminar last year and I love it and use it all the time!! I also loved the spicy apple margarita!!! The only margarita I love more is the Conjurita!! Great shots from around World Showcase and your food looks delicious!!! I agree about Mexico as well!! It is a beautiful pavilion!!

I definitely am! Although, I had far more eats last year as the food at the seminar was filling as well as the Italian lunch early in the trip. The margarita may not be at the festival booth but could be at the new outside bar or inside at La Cava. I would think the latter would have it. I will have that again the next time!

I enjoy these and are quite useful, although the small cutting board I got last year I use every day and is showing it! I got the lanyard in the Festival Center when I purchased the Disney gift card. No charge for this. But it has to be a certain amount on the card to get this. Enjoying the eats and bevs at the festival. The margarita is amazing and to die for!

In some ways I guess we are! That margarita is amazing and will have it next trip! I'm sure La Cava has it! As far as the Conjurita goes I haven't tried it up to this point in the trip, but...
Glad you like the photos. The eats and bevs were quite good and some more still to come today! I love the pavilion and being all indoors helps on these hot and humid days!

Awesome to get two rides in on Test Track! Nice eats at the food booths!
Usually a good single rider line, but you never know. It worked out today. Enjoying the festival today with some good eats.

Yum, some great eating and drinking at the festival! I think that the word spicy might have deterred me from trying the Apple margarita, but it sounds really yummy!
