As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Thank you very much for the email and snail mail address for the bus driver. I really appreciate it.
I am sorry things are rough with your dd. I agree with the others that perhaps she needs to learn the hard way. I know - easy for me to say. I have much younger children and generally have no idea what you are dealing with. Many hugs and pixies that things improve.
Good luck with your future interviews and the process to remain at WDW.
We are tentatively planning another trip so if you do stay on we may see you yet this year.

As long as you and your Ddad do things for her, she will never change. You said
she was this way with your older DD and your dad was paying for her and she
is still this way with you and your paying for her. I wouldn't move the BF in,
I would move them both out. It's a tough choice to make but growing up is
hard and if she is ever going to do it, now is the time.
I'm glad that you are still enjoying your time being a CP and I hope you do get
to stay on. If you do stay you need to look into getting your own place without
the older DD's.
Glad everything in the money room worked out. As for DD, its time she learns what happens in the real world. She needs to grow up and face the consequences of her actions. Hope everything works out for the best.
Glad things with the MR got better! I think you need a lot of for dealing with your DD - and what everyone else has already said is right - it's time to stop trying to put out her fires and let her suffer the consequences of her actions.
DD needs a swift kick in the @.. and a dose of reality. If she doesn't pay that ticket, she is going to be arrested and get to go in front of a judge and ordered to pay the ticket plus court costs and maybe get to spend some time behind bars. Maybe that would get her attention because nothing else you have done seems to be sinking in. Hope you are able to survive thru this
Thanks for all the support. You all have NO IDEA how much it helps me. I was on the verge of tears again as I was walking into work, but I reminded myself of my Passporter Peeps and all of the guests who would be counting on me to do my best today and it was all better.
When I walked in the back room, one of my fellow CMs said, "I hate you, I really hate you" in a wink-wink kind of way. I asked her why, she reached in her pocket, and pulled out a card with a logo on one side and MY BIRTHDAY SONG on the other!!! They had changed it from "birthday" to "celebration", but it still worked. I guess it was announced at the morning meeting and the VP sang it to the CMs, then had them sing it back from the cards. Today was a big walkabout day for the uppity ups and I heard they were singing it all over the place! I was SO excited to come home and tell DDs that OUR SONG was a big hit! Totally made my day, even though the CMs are annoyed at having to sing now...
Today was a short money room day, so I finished tweaking the spreadsheets and showed them to 1/3 of the managers who needs to see them. I'll show them to the other 2 tomorrow and hopefully get a full buy-off. Tomorrow is a weird day for me...830-230 in Games and 230-615 in Chester and Hester's. Long, early, and I'll be all over the place.
Still nothing from the PI front. Lots of "swirl" going on in the company at the moment, so who knows where anyone will land.
This evening was a bit of calm after the storm w/ DD. Typical behavior, but we'll see where it goes. Hubby also has been really pressing about my coming "home" mid-May. He has no idea I've applied for an extension or the PIs. With him, it's best not to mention it until after the fact, so I've been hmmmming and hawing about it all. He started on one of his "trust no one" tangents today when I mentioned that I have to take the car in b/c the check engine light is on. We can't trust anyone, not even our "so-called President". I wound up that conversation fast, but now that I'm not hearing it all the time, it really is sounding more and more bizarre. He's coming next Tues-Fri for DD's b-day, so I'll really have to watch what I say...
The views and opinions expressed on this post are mine and do not necessarily represent or reflect those of The Walt Disney Company and Affiliated Companies
I will be there in late May. I can't wait to hear the song when I am in Dinoland. Were your daughters happy to hear about the song ? I think it is so great that you are living your dream and enjoying it, even though the DD drama puts a damper on things. I look forward to hearing more about your Dino-days Hope all goes well with next week too.

I'm also sending more for multiple spinning plates. I don't know how you handle it all. for DH during his visit. I hope he doesn't get wind of your extensions while he's visiting. Do you think 20 yr old DD will try to stir up trouble?
