As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

One thing I want to do on this trip is to take more pictures! So, I set a goal to take 100 pictures a day!! I know that is ambitious but it will be fun to see how close I come. Being the geek that I am, I actually made a list of some of the things I would like to get photos of:
Pictures of Wynn lobby
Pictures of Bellagio Gardens and fountains
Pictures in Caesars forum shops
Pictures in Paris
Pictures in Linq
Pictures in NYNY
Pictures in Venetian and Palazzo
Pictures of Strip at night
I may not even get to some of these spots, but it sure is fun to have a goal!!
Another thing on the list is to get my picture taken under the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign!! As you know, we have been to Vegas countless times, but we have never done this! So, with or without Muffin, I am determined to make it happen!!
I also plan to get a new Pandora charm that has something to do with Las Vegas. I wanted to try to get some shopping in at Caesar's, where there is a small Pandora store, so we'll see if I am able to accomplish this task!
Lastly, I have to get a Christmas ornament! I get one wherever I go and putting each one on the tree always brings back wonderful memories!! I am happy to report that my tree is now exclusively travel ornaments!!
Planned Tours:
Ride Eiffel Tower and have a cafe au lait at Paris-
This is a wonderful experience with great views of the Strip!! We have had the pleasure of doing this several times but it never gets old!! The Café au Lait tops it off!!
Ride High Roller Wheel- 3/14- 6 PM- This will be a new experience for us and we are so excited!! This is the description from the website:
THE WORLD'S TALLEST OBSERVATION WHEEL
Measuring 520 feet in diameter, the High Roller eclipses both the London Eye and Singapore Flyer. Facing north and south parallel to Las Vegas Boulevard, the wheel takes 30 minutes to complete one full revolution and features 28 glass-enclosed cabins with broad views of Las Vegas and the Strip. Each spherical cabin can hold up to 40 people, with benches on either side of the cabin and plenty of floor space in between—but we imagine you'll want to stand and admire the view.
We chose the bar included package and we hope to sip on some bubbly while riding!!
Tour the Linq- We haven't been to this resort complex before and are looking forward to checking it out before our ride!!
Pink Jeep Tours-Red Rock Canyon- 3/16- 7:45 AM- I am very excited about this fun looking adventure!!
I also booked both a massage and a hair styling session!!
Hair- 3/15- 3 PM
I am just going to get my hair washed and blow dried. Nothing crazy!
Massage- 3/16- 4 PM
I booked a Desert Stone Massage, which sounds lovely. It is described as a slow, fully orchestrated massage allowing a continuous flow of heat to infuse the body melting away tension and stress. Doesn't that sound like heaven?!
I think the above plans will fill my time nicely but just in case, I also made a list of maybes:

Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay- I did see this many years ago, but I would love to go back if I have time.
Madame Tussaud's at the Venetian- another place that is amazing! Again, I have not been here in many years and it would be fun to revisit!
Gondola Ride at the Venetian- We also did this year's ago and it was great fun!!
Slotzilla on Fremont Street- We went to Fremont Street last year. I am glad that we did but I do not need to go back. However! One regret I have is that I didn't do the zip line out of a giant slot machine!!
Looks like some amazing plans and hope you can accomplish most of this to make this an even more amazing trip!
