Another August Adventure with a shot of Testosterone...TR Completed 2/19 - Page 7 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Plans are looking really great! I can't wait to see the cake they come up with, the girls are going to love it I'm sure. I always wondered if they could make those specialty cakes allergy friendly, good to know that they can!
Glad all the girls made it through the concert!!
I am excited to see what combo they make with Olaf & Stitch!!!
Plans are looking good! We have never done Rose & Crown, curious what you think about it.
Almost time!!!!

I like the change with Rose & Crown. I've never ate at Coral Reef or R&C, but have generally heard mixed reviews of Coral Reef and good ones for R&C. Will be interesting to see the cake as it seems like a good combo with the characters.

Meg, I'm joining in mid way here and gosh if I haven't said it before, you are really theee coolest mom ever!!!
I LOVE the newbie additions and it just adds more fun for you as well I'm sure.
I like your ADR's. I have to say we have been more "lunch" ADR people lately..........I think for us it's staying CL and wanting to take advantage of what they are offering and getting use of the parks at nighttime. IDK....I love your choices and now I'm going back to read some more.
Give My Leo baby some b-day love from me please XOXO
Two days! You have to be excited. I can't sleep the last few days before we go. As far as dining reservations, I love them, love the sit down places as the food is sooo good, but I also like being real flexible with what park we want to go to and all that. It is a trade off for someone who doesn't like to live by a schedule on vacation. But you have to to get into the more popular places at WDW.
We can't wait to see how things go and the reactions of the boys. I love living in the Disney bubble. Everything is always nice, top notch, taken care of. Anywhere else we go now gets compared to Disney and comes up lacking.
Your plans are looking good - I'm intrigued to see what the change is to your final day....
Will be posting the last two days (and the last change) tonight

I will tell you I am pretty intrigued myself, when we were discussing it the cake manager seemed so excited when I told her, guess she will have fun using her imagination for this one.

Only 2 days until travel time!
We have eaten at Coral Reef and Rose & Crown, we love the desserts at the Coral Reef (I guess that is what we were thinking about when we made the reservation) but we love the atmosphere of R&C

We have done a few and they were amazing. I will mention I like the chocolate (allergy free) better than the vanilla ones. Will definitely give a review when we are back.

We have had some fun meals there. The atmosphere is always nice, we enjoy the food and Jasmine thinks the guys will enjoy so it was a good change I think all around.

We love the desserts at Coral Reef and I have had some great meals (I dont eat seafood but their chicken dish is always pretty good), but we love the atmosphere at R&C, we had one off meal there but for the most part always enjoy so hoping it turns out to be a good change of plans.

I remember that, I always laugh how our conversations go from one thing to another so easily. I just realized I never did tell you the changes

I am pretty excited to see the boys reactions, I can't think about going to Disney and not staying onsite. I love being in the bubble.
So I am finishing up at work, then heading home to do the list of 100 things that I have not done (like pack) but I promise I will get an update done tonight with our last two days plans.
Ok so semi-packed (well the kids are packed I am the last to have to finish).
Brother is coming in...wow 6 hours.
But I promised the last two days plans so here they are
Day 7 Plans (are we really almost at the end already )
Today we are planning on a morning by the pool, just a nice relaxing morning.
Now we have lunch booked at the Plaza and dinner booked at the Wave. With the new planned morning at the pool we are probably going to cancel the Plaza and just enjoy dinner but that could change.
Told the girls they can think about it but I have my reminder set so I can cancel one of them.
We will spend out last evening at Magic Kingdom.
Our Fast Passes are:
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Jungle Cruise
Splash Mountain (for all but Jasmine)
Pirates of the Caribbean (Jasmine)
We will close out the park and then head back for our last sleep at Disney
Day 8 Plans
It might be out last day but we still have some fun planned
Our flight is not until 7:50 PM so with our DME pick up around 4:50 PM we have pretty much a good portion of the day to run around and have fun.
Once we do the resort airline check-in and stow our bags with Bell Services we will head over to Epcot.
Our Fast Passes for the day are:
Spaceship Earth
Soarin
Maelstrom
Our last change of the day....we said goodbye to Teppan Edo. We missed having Mexican. We have an ADR at San Angel Inn, but we might end up cancelling it and just eating at the cantina.
We also made a last minute change tonight (I know we leave those changes till the last minute). We ended up cancelling our breakfast at Boma. We really wanted to eat there but when we looked over the days plans, we much rather sleep in a bit and then head to the park then get up early for breakfast (I know we are lazy, I mean Boma is right downstairs....LOL - but heck we are on vacation, I guess a little being lazy is ok).
So there you have it....our plans. It will be interesting to see how many stay and how many change.
