PTR-PHM15 In Pursuit of Cupcakes While Running in Glass Slippers - Page 7 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Sunday Stat's for Tammie
5K Training Week 3
Total Distance: 11.68 mi
My goal this week was to get out 3 times walking & 3 times running. Did I make it?
Monday, March 24 (WALKING): Wahoo, first day of my weekly goal done. Today, I managed to get out at lunch and walk the school neighborhood. I got in 2 miles with an average walking pace of 15:54 mm over those 2 miles. Tuesday, March 25 (INTERVAL SHORT-5K W3/D1): Run night, and I really needed that me time by the time I got out of the house from what I call the “witching hours”(that time between when you get home, get homework/snacks taken care, dinner made/served/cleaned up). Of course, I went over the workout distance (can’t stand uneven mileage distance), so I ran 2.04 miles with an average pace of 13:32 mm (my second mile was UNDER 13 minutes). Tonight I felt really strong and motivated!
***My shins have not been hurting, but I have the deep muscle bruise like pain in the area of where my stress fracture was so I decided to try some inserts during in my shoes. We will see how that works!
Wednesday, March 26 (WALKING): Yay, another much needed walk during lunch today in the neighborhood. Only today things were a little different...IT WAS WET OUTSIDE, yes actual rain had fallen starting early this morning into late morning. I thought twice about getting out there, but I waited long enough and it had stopped. What a refreshing walk with the dust settled out of the air and that clean fresh scent, I almost did not want to come back to work. I managed 2 miles today, but my pace was really off…maybe the inserts or maybe just enjoying the walk in the rain as my average walking pace was at 17:11 mm.
Thursday, March 27 (INTERVAL SHORT-5K W3/D2): I was really excited to get out for my interval run and with dinner already prepped in the crock pot waiting the boys and I loaded up in the car with Goo’s bike and headed to the park. Great they could mess with each other while I ran…bad idea they got the idea that it would be funny as mom ran around to sneak up behind her and scare the living daylights out of me several times. Also, I learned that inserts may work for walking and using every day, but not while I am running…hurt my feet too much. My run distance was 2.02 miles with an average 13:51 mm. Today I felt sluggish and off. I did take this picture in the parking lot, apparently someone had more fun at the park than I had tonight, JELLO shots? LOL, probably not but it sure was nice to think that way. In my neighborhood these are probably hot sauce containers for burritos.
Friday, March 28 (NONE): Well it just did not happen today to get out for lunch for a walk, too much to get done and after school I was just too tired. So much for my goal of 3 days walking this week...:sad2:
Saturday, March 29 (INTERVAL LONG-5K W3/D3): I sure wish that I could sleep in on a Saturday, but I am a morning person so up I am along with the sun, just wished that the temp outside would cooperate. Finally, at 9 am and 40 degrees I decided to get going with my long run day. Really not very long yet in the training program, a scheduled 2.5 miles and of course I would do more but just how far would I push myself? I really wanted to know to more about how I was looking for a 5K in a few weeks, since I am already 3 weeks of where I wanted to be training wise. So after 2.5 miles came and went with me feeling strong, I decided to go for a 5K. I ended up going 3.62 by the time I finished with a cool down on top of the 5K with a pace of 12:39. ARE YOU KIDDING ME…I JUST RAN over 3 miles under a 13 minute mile and that includes 6 minutes of shear walking warm up/cool down! My splits (13:23, 12:45, 10:51, 13:44)…look at my 3rd mile split 10:51! Amazing, maybe I might shape up to be a better runner than I think I can be…of course when I start feeling good, injury time so I will just keep holding my breath! Also, today I noticed one of my favorite signs of spring…
Awesome work!!
You know what made Saturday such a good running day? Your rest day on Friday. Don't underestimate the beauty of a rest day. It allows your muscles time to repair and recover and you reserve energy for a longer run. It works!

Well it looks like we have about finished all the cupcake offerings in Magic Kingdom, other than the seasonal ones (which are standard cupcakes with a seasonal decoration…boring). The cupcakes at Big Top really did not appeal to anyone in my little group (or all of you following along), so Betsy suggested that we go back to BOG and try out the rest…
Triple Chocolate
The Triple Chocolate cupcake is just what the names implies…chocolate! To be more exact a chocolate sponge cake filled with a chocolate mousse. It is frosted with a panache like chocolate frosting decorated with a fresh raspberry and apparently the same little gold decorated chocolate piece that is on the Master’s Cupcake that says “Be Our Guest.” From reviews the frosting by far is the best part of the cupcake…very rich and very yummy…as the Pixie Dust Diva writes in her blog “AMAZING. Maybe it was because the icing was so superior, but when you got to the cake it was a bit of a disappointment. It was still good, but it was really crumbly, and not quite as good as that icing deserved!”

Thanks ladies...last week was a pretty good running week. I have been such a bad follower...I intend to get to every ones PTR & TR this weekend! I hate this time of the year...4 months of the school year are a mess for me August & September getting things started and April & May finishing things up. I already feel like I am drowning in reports and data!
I would totally skip all of those cupcakes. Your training is going great keep up the awesome work on it. The BOG cupcake looks good but I don't really eat that much sugar anymore so the actual cake would have to be outstanding.
I agree with others on the 'standard' cupcakes - I would skip those.
The triple chocolate looks good and I can't resist that chocolate ganache - it's like fudge!
Of all the cupcakes at BOG, gets the vote for the cutest with a cute little pink polka dotted wrapper. I have to agree it looks like those cupcakes in the fancy stores. This vanilla sponge cupcake is filled with a strawberry cream cheese filling is more of a yogurt or custard consistency and not over-powering at all! The cupcake is topped with a whipped cream cheese frosting and a large fresh strawberry. Fresh, Fruity and delicious!
Now I am a huge chocolate fan, but this cupcake sounds really yummy and one that I might consider. I wonder how many cupcakes one could order at BOG without raising eyebrows! Also, I wonder if they have the little plastic take away cupcake holders like some of the other places?! We certainly are going to need an ADR for BOG!
What are your thoughts? Do we add this one to the crawl, we are going to be at BOG anyway...:rotfl2:
