2010 TR 1/29-2/05~~Mom's Dream Came True!! - Page 7 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Yes, we are. I really need to start preparing, I've done nothing. Unfortunately, AK isn't even on the agenda this trip; so we won't be seeing Divine this trip either. It's a long weekend trip with just me and my ds(10). He doesn't even know yet! But a few days at WDW is better than no days!
You need to get crackin' girl!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll bet your son is going to be so happy when we finds out!!!!! And a few days in WDW is def better than no days!

We have actually seen her on several of our more recent trip. The most frequent location is the area down from Tusker House where there are usually character meet and greets.

Initially, I had thought we would return to AK for a 2nd day, but the boys had other plans!!
Today we head to EPCOT. Did we open the park? Nope…we slept in this morning until 9 a.m. Ok….this opening the park idea doesn’t seem to be working with this family of mine. Peter & I had a quick breakfast of peanut butter & crackers, blueberry muffins, & juice. I headed over to start some laundry (w/ lots of quarters in my M&M minis tube). I started two loads then headed back to the room while they washed. By now, Nathan was up & eating his usual Pop-Tarts & Sunny D breakfast. Neither of us are breakfast eaters, so eating a quick snack in the room works fine for all 4 of us.
Peter & Nathan headed to the game room for a couple of games while I waited for the laundry to finish drying.
Peter stopped by on his way back to help me take the folded laundry to the room.
It was now noon, Logan finally got up & we headed for the bus stop. We just missed the bus for Epcot, so while we waited for the next bus (about 15 mins.), I called Mom to see how the weather was back home. VA had gotten 10+” of snow & freezing temps. She said church was cancelled & they were pretty much housebound (except for Dad going to our house to feed our cat, Jaxson). It was in the 50’s here today- but compared to what we were missing at home, 50’s sounded awesome! We just pulled out the fleece & sweatshirts today and we were just fine!
We got to the park and after getting some pictures as we entered
then we headed right over to
to get Soarin’ FPs. It would be Logan’s first time on Soarin’ & we could hardly wait for him to ride.
The stand-by wait was too long, so we decided to just come back for our FP time (3:39 p.m.). Since we were already there, we decided to get lunch at Season’s.
We love the choices there. I ordered the sweet/sour chicken/rice/brocolli, diet coke, & Butterfinger cheesecake. Peter got the beef stir-fry/rice/veggies, sprite, & cookie. All of our food was yummy!! Nathan & Logan got the grilled chicken Caesar salad (which they said was ok), 2 sodas, rice krispy treat & strawberry short cake (which was yummy).
Total for lunch: $64.10 (4 CS credits) This is a wonderful place to get lunch-we love all the choices & that you can use CS & SC here.
After lunch, we rode TT. After a 10 minute wait, we got right on.
This was Logan’s first TT ride & he loved it as much as we did!
Here’s our picture:
After TT, we split up for a bit and wandered around, stopping to look in some of the shops. I bought my first pin, a Valentine’s Day Mickey pin. It was time for our Soarin’ ride, so off we went. This is one of Peter’s favorite rides- so we would try to do it again before leaving. Logan loved this one too - I couldn't believe he hadn't ridden it before.(I started to wonder what he had actually done on his week-end long Grad-nite trip in ‘06???)
We had dinner ADRs at Coral Reef at 5:05 p.m. We still had a little time, so we did MS. The boys chose the orange team, and Peter & I chose the green team . It was fun & we will probably try it again later. Then, we went on Finding Nemo (the boys thought they looked silly on this one!). LOL
It was nice to be warm inside though, as it was getting chillier as the day went on.
wow. I can't believe I have this far behind. Love the pictures and all of the things that you have done so far. We are excited to hear about the Hoop Dee Doo. It is a must on our list. Love those kinds of things. Can't wait to read more and see those pictures. Thanks for sharing!!
Great updates. What a fun time at the Hoop Dee Doo - good to see photos from the upper level, as we ate on the lower level the time we went to see it.
Did any of the cast interact with you? None of them asked us to participate in any of the show, but the one guy, came over & talked/joked with us a bit (which was fine with me!).

Hope CR did not disappoint.
There was so much more that I wanted to do, but I could tell I was losing the guys fast when I started rambling on about opening parks, EMH, & all the attractions/rides I intended to try. Later in the trip, I headed out alone on a few occasions!!!!!
