"I am freaking out" Trip Report UPDATED 5/14 - Page 7 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

We were in EPCOT the day before the big GADGAD bash, and they told us there would be Disney Channel stars there. How cool that you got to see some of them!
Joe and Demi sang a song on American Idol this week, that I'm sure was written for the GADGAD stuff. It was pretty good.
Can't wait to read more!

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to my TR. My family is once again taking our turn at sickness and we are just now beginning to recover. Any way, where was I.... oh yeah, my kind of rides....
So after the whole mission space drama, we headed over to grab a famous Mickey ice cream bar. I will never get tired of those precious chocolate covered vanilla ice cream delights.
We spotted Journey into Imagination (which we have done and enjoyed before) and decided to give it a whirl. My grandparents have never done that one before and I think they really enjoyed it. My little brother gagged when they sprayed the skunk scent at you and he almost puked out of our car! Luckily, he managed to hold it in. He does have issues with scent and the feeling of certain things and he has puked in the past. When he was in Kindergarten, they were carving pumpkins for Halloween and he reached in to pull out the pumpkin guts and threw it right back in and ran to the trash can! His teacher told my mom that he puked 2 times before she sent him to the nurse to go home. (she wanted to make sure that he didn't just gag that made him puked) Ok so that's a little gross.... sorry if that disturbed anybody.
After Imagination, we stayed at the Imageworks playground for a while, but it got so crowded that we decided to leave. And of course, it was raining. HARD! So back into the Imageworks playground until it stopped raining. Sadly enough, it didn't stop, it just lessened (if that's a word)
Next up on the list was Soarin'. And again, our luck wasn't very lucky. We wanted to get a Fastpass but the fastpass return time was 8:30 pm and by now, it was 3 o'clock! So we passed on that one. Next, we did Livin' with the Land. My grandpa used to (and still does) grow his own vegetables and fruits and raise cows and chickens and he enjoyed seeing the greenhouse and everything in it. I think that it was the highlight of the trip. But with memories comes stories of those memories and boy have I heard enough of those "back when I was a boy" stories! But he was so pleased that they offer something like that for people to see. Next, my little brother wanted to go to Nemo and Friends to see Crush, so off we went! I will never get tired of that ride. I love going through the EAC! Then, we went to Turtle Talk w/ Crush. My little brother raised his hand and got to ask Crush a question. And you'll never believe what he asked him... "Why do you always say dude after every sentence?" And Crush replied (after moments of consideration) "Well dude, we Australians like to say dude to get the ladies, you know dude?" And my brother said "STOP WITH THE DUDE!" By this point the audience was laughing so hard and my parents were probably back there saying "that's not our kid!"
Great update! Sorry that the rain keeps getting in the way!
Yeah the weather was pretty nasty the whole time. It was such a bummer. But the best part about it was when we were waiting for my mom to come out of a store in MK when my 6 year old brother looks up at me with his crocodile tears flowing and that big puppy dog face and says "Why does it have to rain in Disney world?". Isn't that just dear!! I said "Even the best places on earth need a little rain" and he says "yeah so they can water the bushes shaped like characters". How cute!
So we came back to the hotel around 7:30 and it was almost dark. So we knew we couldn't get dinner at the poolside restaurant (which was our original plan). By now we were sick of the hotel restaurant (Citron) and we decided to drive around to find some local eats. We saw a Ruby Tuesdays, a McDonalds, a Carrabbas.... ohhhhhhh Carrabbas! So we ate at Carrabbas, an italian restaurant and one of our family faves. After long consideration, I had the ministrone soup (2 words for ya.... Yum-O!) and the Manicotti. It was so good and we all had a great time. I think my brothers got to make their own pizza at the table and take it back and give it to the chef to put in the oven. So they had fun. Sorry no pics on my last 2 updates! My camera battery needed charged and it only took FOREVER!
Today's weather was: chilly in the morning, warmer in the afternoon.
Today we tried: Carrabbas
And the result was: Why yes we will go back there again!
The best thing today was: seeing Demi and Joe.
I just wanted to say thank you for reading the beginning of my trip report. It's not over yet, but thanks for following along. I know that my cruise one will be better. But thanks for bearing with me.

Sorry it's taken me so long (again). I was reading some other trip reports to see how I could improve and I think this post will be better.
By now you're probably wondering what the Awwww Man! is about. Well, I'm getting there. We woke up kinda late since we just could not fall asleep the night before (the people in the room next to us were screaming and yelling at each other about how expensive the movies are- apparently the guy wanted to rent that 2012 movie and it was $15. The lady must have gotten pretty upset about it because they were yelling things that can not be repeated () so loud that we had to cover my little brothers ears! It was a nightmare (well I guess it really a nightmare because we hardly slept!) But when we finally fell asleep, we were awakened by a maddening thunderstorm. My brother was laying in bed and we thought he was sleeping until the thunder clapped and he groaned "Awwwww man!" He really wanted to go to Hollywood Studios again so he could play Toy Story Mania again. (I can't blame him!) We got out of bed around 9 and just ate bananas and cereal that we bought from room service. It stopped raining for a while so we decided to try and redo our Downtown Disney Shopping Day (yes it's capitalized. It's my favorite holiday!) Our first stop was the World of Disney Store. I had $50 to spend that I got from babysitting. Oh yeah, and I had a $50 Disney Gift Card that I got for Christmas. I found a lime green sweatshirt that says "Walt Disney World Athletics" and I love it! I also had to get something for my friend for watching my cat back in PA, so I got her a Mickey Mouse t-shirt and a WDW bracelet. And I saw a really cool pin that I had to have (it says "Love the Earth" and it has a globe on it with 2 extra pieces of land at the top to resemble Mickey Ears.) Our next stop was Team Mickey so my brothers could try to find some things (surprisingly, they didn't see anything in World of Disney that they liked. How is that possible?! ) I think my youngest brother got a Mickey soccer ball and a Donald Duck football (or the other way around) and my 10 year old brother made my dad take him back to World of Disney to buy a Mickey watch. When that mad chaos was over, we were headed to my dad's least favorite store on the ENTIRE planet- The LEGO Store. My youngest brother got down on his hands and knees for my mom to buy him a LEGO Star Wars set. I was looking at all the "decorations" inside. I only got one picture this whole day.
I don't even know what this is. It looks like some kind of city or something() I will never understand LEGOs, as well as Star Wars, Pokemon, Bakugan, and skateboards. I guess I'm going to have to put up with it having 2 brothers and all.
After the Lego store, it was poring down rain again. It's so sad when you've been planing a trip for 6 months and you're so excited until you get there and it's raining. So we drove back to the hotel and watched the rain. We had dinner at Citron (for you new readers, Citron is the hotels main restaurant) and I wasn't very hungry so I stepped back a notch and ordered off the kids menu (our waitor was not happy). I think I got the Chicken Tenders. We went to our grandparents room to watch the Olympic Opening Ceremony on TV (our TV stopped working- obviously because it's ours ) It was Ok.
The weather today was: rainy and utterly disgusting
Today we tried: to shop all day
And the result was: THE STUPID RAIN KICKED US OUT!
The best thing today was: Shopping!
Up Next: Are we finally going to make it to Seaworld?
