Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

I'm not going to lie....I got a little teared up reading about 1900 Park Faire. And I am so cynical about love and happy endings lately, so it totally came out of left field. Thank you for reminding me that love doesn't always stink!

If you think that was touching you really need to read our proposal TR! I still cry when I read it!
http://www.passporterboards.com/foru...es-4-19-a.html

Funny you should mention that. I think a few short years ago I was the queen of cynical. I had absolutly no reason to believe in happy endings! Love and all that silly stuff just wasn't for me. Actually when I met Brent I had no intention of begining a relationship, I read his post on passporter about his vacation and PM'd him something about the airport and the Akershus meal. We started chatting back and forth, found out we lived 4 hours apart, became best friends over the next few years, stated spending more and more time together, all along just friends. Then on one of our trips to Disney something just changed, I can't expain it, I don't know how to explain it, but it changed. I can honestly say all the times I felt like I'd been "wronged", "hurt", "taken advantage of", and "jilted" in the past, by other people, made no difference at that point. As cynical as I was (oh and I was bad, ask Brent...."i don't need any man!" LOL), as hurt as I'd been didn't matter any more at that moment in time. I knew we had something very special, for once I felt like this person that I cared about more than imaginable, loved, and had learned to trust wasn't going to hurt me, and genuinely cared back. I can't explain it, I don't know how to explain it, but I am so thankful that it happened! What we have is amazing. Sooooo don't give up, love isn't always bad, but sometimes weeding through all the wrongs to find one right is worth it.

That dinner at 1900 PF was increadible! From the same waitress you had when you got engaged, to the shirts, to Brendan's new found love of Cinderella, to the special dessert tray. WOW! What an incredible story!

Day 8, Thursday Sept 3 Epcot and Lecellier

Woke up before sunrise again to go the food court on my daily coffee quest. There was no hurry this morning though. We were just going to hang around the hotel this morning and try out all three of Pop’s pools. It was really a good time, just enjoying the heat. I have tried to take a picture of Brendan and Jordan by the 60's Tye Dye every year:

Eventually it was time to go back to the room and get dressed for our much anticipated dinner at LeCellier Steak house. Liz and I were really looking forward to this as neither one of us has ever been there and the place is sooo hard to get a reservation for and soooo talked about. We did stop to take in a few future world attractions and it was quite obvious the trip had begun to take a toll on all of our stamina J :

Dinner at Lecellier was good but I must say I was a bit disappointed. It was a good experience and a good steak, but this place is soo hyped I was all set for an OUTSTANDING steak, and it just wasn’t. My steak was good, but not the best. Would I go there again? Certainly. Would I rearrange and/or plan out my trip when I was able to get a reservation? No, definitely not. The chocolate Mousse for dessert was pretty cute though:

After dinner Liz and Tori split up again to take in some of what the World Showcase has to offer, and I found myself a beer and took the younger ones for awhile. I must say I really enjoyed the times we were able to split up and do things different people enjoyed. It gave our trip a whole new dimension, and I’m sure it contributed to everyone having a better trip. We left just before Illuminations to beat the crowd and then back to Pop for a nighttime swim. Another fun day!
Next: Chef Mickey's, Bippidi Boppidi Boutique, and our trip is drawing to a close: and our trip finishes with a very upset fairy!

Brent

Thanks so much for sharing that, and we are glad we're able to help you through a rough spot in some small way. Liz wasn't kidding by the way, she was most likely way more cynical and sarcastic than you. She even referred to my beloved Cinderella as that "mousy woman wasting her life away waiting on some man to come help her. Hmmmphh!! I don't need to wait on no man to come help me! I don't need a man.'

Which was probably why I kept bringing Cinderella up in our relationship. I was teasing poor Liz! But things can change, the pain gets dull, hearts heel, and defenses soften. Just do as our shirts said: "Never give up on a wish your heart makes!"

Brent

Friday Sept 4, Chef Mickey twice, and Blizzard Beach!
Going to upload photos in stages so check back later for more!
Rose at sunrise again and headed to the food court for my morning ritual. Took my time a little bit more today and tried to savor every minute as our vacation was drawing to a close. Found a bench by the lake and enjoyed my coffee. Headed back to the room to get us all around for a breakfast at Chef Mickey. We actually made a breakfast and dinner reservation today due to a small lack of communication between Liz and myself. It worked out well though, as we were able to use both because we cancelled another ADR earlier in this trip. Chef Mickeys is a great time as always. J I personally think the food is underrated here. This is one buffet I tend to load up on pretty well. Mickey was enthralled by Jordan’s hair with blue highlights:

Perhaps he was looking for Blue Cheese??? Sorry Jordan, couldn’t resist. Tori muttered something under her breath also, what was that Tori? Something about “I’m watching you, mouse?”

After a good breakfast it was off to Blizzard Beach. Typhoon Lagoon is definitely our favorite water park, but nothing beats the family raft ride at Blizzard Beach. Great Family fun! Cheyenne managed to get in a lot of photopass shots:

Then a family trip down the lazy river:

Then it was back to the room to change for dinner at Chef Mickeys. Great Meal. I was stuffed. Tori started to get out of hand and tried to push me around:

We made up though:

A few more pictures of dinner:

After a good dinner we headed to Disney quest. Brendan created a few roller coasters that darn near did me in! Disneyquest was not too busy. We got to ride the rat ride and the pirate battle and pretty much everything we wanted to do. When we were finished we headed back to the resort and went to the main pool for a nice long nighttime swim.

Saturday! Breakfast in the Castle and Princess Makeovers for the girls!

Woke before everyone else again but with a little extra spring in my step today as we were having breakfast at the castle. Our ADR was at 8:30 so we got to walk down Main street with little or no other people around. I’m telling ya I just love that. Very cool feeling. You almost feel like you have the whole park to yourself. Incredible feeling.

We wore the shirts I made and presented to my lovely wife at 1900 Park Faire a few nights earlier and had our picture taken with Cinderella.
She loved our shirts and told us how nice it was to play such a role in our relationship. Then she asked Liz if she may take my arm for the photo. The Cinderella’s at the castle are always so poised and full of grace. Quite the dignified ceremony! :

Also I never noticed this on the stairs to the restuarant. Isn't it cool?

After Breakfast we had time to take in a few rides before our appointment at the Bippidi Boppidy Boutique for Jordan and Cheyenne. Jordan has done this once before but it was to be a new experience for Cheyenne. She was first and opted for the Pop Diva look.

Jordan was next, and by this point Tori was actually thinking this was all pretty cool. So she comes up to me, taps me on the shoulder and smiles. Sighhhh ok, so after much sweet talking on my part, we managed to get Tori in as well. Here are a few pictures of our beautiful princesses:

Jordan:

Tori:

Now all of them:

They clean up good , don’t they??? J
Brendan actually took the whole thing very well:

He did get a little extra attention from the Godmother’s in training.

So we walked around the magic kingdom with our princesses. Stopped for a Dole whip, and headed back to the resort when we got hungry. Had dinner at the resort and did some packing up as tomorrow was our day to go home. After we were packed up as much as we could we walked around the resort, and reminisced a bit on our vacation. It was a great time, and we were incredibly sad to see it end. L Tomorrow Liz, Tori and Cheyenne had an earlier flight than us so they needed to be up and gone early. Brendan, Jordan and myself had a flight a bit later so we were going to go the Magic Kingdom in the morning to see the fairies again and take in a few more attractions. BIG MISTAKE for me!
We got there right at opening and walked down Main street with very few people around. I just love that!
Went straight to see Ariel who was already open for business. Ariel really liked Jordan’s princess makeover which was still in from the day before. Jordan is in kind of a hippy phase and somehow, (I don’t know how she did this) managed to get Ariel to flash the rock on sign.

Ariel was so taken with Jordan she even let her hold the dingelhopper. (Fork she combs her hair with) Very cool.

Brendan was still getting into this princess thing more and more too. Here we are with me:

After Ariel it was on to see the fairies. Iridessa was there today along with Tinkerbell and Rosetta. Iridessa was first but Brendan was in a hurry to see Tink. See my hand on his shirt pulling him back? J

Now my big mistake: I told Tink that my wife was her biggest fan, but Tink was not impressed with me at all. She says “Oh Good! Where is she???” I say “ummm this is our last day and she had an earlier flight “ Tink retorts. “oh! Really?? Why?” I’m struggling for words now:

So Tink says she will sprinkle pixie dust on her plane for a safe trip. Great! Ummm I’m flying home later today too, Tink” She replies. “I know” Sighhh. If my memory serves me correctly this is just about the time I got called a 'Codfish" by the little Pixie.
Then she wrinkles her nose and says “Next time, Bring Liz, Hmmpph!”:

Sighhhhh . . .. . . Then Liz adds this cute border to the picture:

Tink was a bit more endearing to the kids:

Rosetta was a bit more amicable to me though:

Brendan was REEAALLYY getting into the princess thing:

After that we saw Philharmagic, rode it’s a small world and had one last Dole whip then it was time to head back to the resort to pack up.

We had time for a swim, so Jordan had to have her picture taken by the peace sign.

The flight was uneventful, but when we landed Brendan had developed such a good rapore with the stewardess, he got to sit in the pilot’s seat.

How cool was that?

Wonderful trip. Can’t wait to go back!

Thank you all for reading about our trip. Hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I did writing it.

Brent
