Just The 3 Of Us.........**Updated 10/16** - Page 7 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

DD and I finally made it home around 9:30. We had a super time on this trip. We met some great Passporter friends and really enjoyed ourselves.
for all the compliments on the quilts...Sheana really deserved it! She did alot of work to get plans made for this trip. She is the offical "Trip Planner" when we travel together to Disney! She handles it all

Kris already gave you the details of them arriving in Houston. As you already know Kris and Myka made a beautiful quilt for me, which I absolutely love! K.C. (my shih tzu) is fond of it too I have to fight him for it! We finshed getting our stuff together and for those of you that guessed it I was packing at the last minute. Kris wouldn't have known what to do if I had been packed ahead of time. We finished laundry I talked to Tim one last time before bed and it was lights out.
I am not sure if Kris slept much but I know I didn't, Myka had taken some Benedryl because her throat was bothering her so she was . I moved Myka over and crawled in bed exhausted but unable to sleep. The alarm was set for 4:40 and for once I didn't hit the snooze button, I was already awake. We got ready and made it out the door by 5:50. We stopped for gas and were on the way to the airport. Normally I fly with Continental, this time we used Southwest out of Hobby. I don't think I will be doing that again unless it is just a quick weekend trip somewhere. Nothing against Southwest or Hobby, Intercontinental is just more convenient and I like having an assigned seat. Once through security they were starting to board the flight, so we grabbed a quick healthy breakfast.
Looks yummy doesn't it?!?!?!
We boarded the plane and the flight was almost empty, before landing in Orlando we had a quick stop in New Orleans and there weren't many people left so we moved all the way up to the 2nd row on the plane. The flight out of New Orleans was completely sold out.
Ready to go!!!
Before taking off I sent Monica a quick text telling her that we were in New Orleans and we were waving at Charlie! The rest of our flight was uneventful, which is the way I like it to be! We landed about 15 minutes early We walked down and I waited in line to check us in for DME, Kris and Myka made a stop on the way. The line moved quickly and before we knew it we were boarding our bus. Now if any of you remember the countdown poems Kris posted we had a bit of a problem with the DME tags, well I asked about it at the DME counter she said our pass for the bus would be fine and that we wouldn 't need a new one and that our bags would make it to the resort with no peoblems......well when they went to scan our DME passes there was a problem, the lady at the bus tried to tell us we were getting on the wrong bus After getting everything straightened out we were on our way!
Kris and Myka on DME bus
CBR was the first stop. A very nice CM by the named Rita checked us in and gave us room 1356 in Barbados and told us that our room was ready. After taking the short walk to the room our bellies were talking to us so we headed to Old Port Royale for some much needed lunch.
Another healthy meal!
While at lunch I got a message from Monica asking what the plan was. I gave her the rundown and we agreed to meet at DtD for the girl's BBB appt. We stopped by the room dropped off our mugs and headed over to DtD and caught a bus to the Dolphin to pick up our rental. We got a PT Cruiser Convertible. Which neither Kris or I managed to get a picture of. We stopped back at our resort and checked our room to see if our luggage was there yet. I needed Advil in a bad way. It was at this time that we found out that 4 of our bags had been scanned but we were waiting on the 5th bag.
So here I am reading all of this from start to finish and I am loving it!
Sheana, first, I have to say that I was unaware of the life changing events you were going through. If you posted about it, I missed it and I am sorry to hear about it. You will be in my thoughts. But, I can't think of anyone who deserves a fun trip to WDW with great friends more than you do.
Second, that quilt Kris gave you is amazing! What a wonderful gift!
Third, what a great trip you have planned. It sounds like it is off to a wonderful start! So many things planned and so many meets with fellow passporters! It doesn't get any better than that!
And fourth, I didn't know you were a fellow shih tzu lover! The picture of you with the glow in the dark necklaces looks like there is more than one of them in your life.
Nala you are correct I have 2 of them. K.C. is my 6 year old male and then there is Lacey my 4 year old female who thinks she is queen bee! I wouldn't trade them for anything.

Sheana pretty much covered everything in her update...so I will just tell ya about a few things and show pictures
After running and picking up Sheana's apartment key and grabbing a few things at the store, I went to Sheana's and made supper. I had already thrown it together before leaving my house that morning and just needed to put it in the oven. The original plan was to eat at Earl of Sandwich...they have one in Houston, but since I knew Sheana wouldn't be packed, I wanted to cook! We had a Cheesy Chicken Casserole and salad. We then went to Cold Stone Creamery for dessert!
Then it was back to Sheana's to watch her finish packing Soon it was off to bed I slept okay, once I got to sleep, but I couldn't wait for the adventure that lay before us
Now, here are some pics for our first morning
Here we are on the plane...ready to head to our Happy Place!
My breakfast
Myka's breakfast
This was a very happy CM working hard to get people ready for the Disney magic
Myka in front of DME bus
Our home at CBR for 2 days
Lunch...I had the hotdog and Myka had the cheeseburger, we shared the fries and both out some new mugs
As Sheana said, neither of us got a pic of the rental car that Myka named "Sparky" It was a very cute PT Cruiser convertible We had tons of fun riding with the top down.
