As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Re: Birthday, F&G Festival and Passporters!!! May 28 to June 3 DAY ONE
Tuesday, May 30, Day Three: Part 3
<font color="purple">Please No Photos of The Evidence!!
We made it to MGM in time to do a couple of rides. I picked up a birthday button and we headed over to Sunset Blvd. FP were out for the day for TOT There was a 30 minute wait for Rock N Roller Coaster so we jumped in the line. After what was more like a 40 minute wait we were finally on the ride. This is my favorite ride at WDW so I was in heaven when we were able to sit in the front. The last time I sat in the front for this ride I didn’t like it…but this time I LOVED it! After we got to the concert venue the CM unloading us said, “Is it really your birthday.” I told him it was my birthday week and he said, “Go thought that door and go for another ride!” Sandy and I giggled like school girls and snuck in the OUT door and were able to get back in the queue for the ride! We didn’t sit in the front but we didn’t care. I think that made Sandy’s day! She was a lot more pleasant after. Oh by the way…I had to get a photo of “my boys” (Rascal Flatts) who’s poster is hanging in Rock N Roller Coaster
We walked over to Great Movie Ride and I looked around for someone I recognized. We didn’t wait to long before Jana, her family, Tina and Jaylan, Yvonne and Sam and Kassie, Princesssharon and her daughter joined us. ***If I forgot anyone I am sorry…we didn’t get a photo I have “Dory” memory*** Amy had texted me earlier letting me know she and her mom were not going to join us for the meet but would see us later at Beaches & cream.
The line was HUGE and we waited forever. I think the movie went through 5 cycles before we got to the beginning. We counted the members of our party. How many? Party of 13 please. Finally it was our time to go we loaded into the ride and Something isn’t right. No lights, no music, no voices, no gunfire, no car jumping out of the garage huh? By the time we got to the Western scene all of the Passporters on the ride were looking at each other. We stopped where the ride is suppose to be hijacked. After a few minutes nothing Finally the CM got out of character and said, “Obviously we are having a problem here.” All the whole row of Passporter people started laughing. Umm…ya think?? The CM started telling jokes and trivia as we waited to see what was going to happen. Finally an announcement came on explaining we would all be escorted out row by row which is exactly what happened. It was strange walking through the ride. I wish I would have gotten some photos but oh well. So much for riding Great Movie Ride!
By the time we got off it was time to head over to Beaches & Cream. Jana and family headed out of the park. Tina, Sandy and I took our time and it seemed like we met just about every Streetmasphere Character on the way to the exit. We were also lucky enough to meet Clarese Chip and Dale’s Girlfriend!
By the time we got to the boat dock the boat was just pulling out. Oh, well. I called Amy to let her know we would be late. We got on the next boat and made our way to Beach Club. The group was patiently (or not so patiently) waiting for us when we finally got our butts over there. I apologized for being late guys!
Sandy and I spit a cheese burger and onion rings. I ordered an iced tea and Sandy got a Diet Coke. Dinner was so good. I love B&C cheese burgers! After dinner we tried to decide if we were going to get a kitchen sink. We actually decided we didn’t have enough people willing to eat part of it so we got individual sundaes. Amy and I spit a No Way Jose and Sandy had a Mud Slide.
****WARNING…graphic photos of ICE CREAM May cause you to eat excess amounts of ice cream and get VERY FAT! Look at your own risk!****

Not So Magic Kingdom (for Sandy)<font color="purple">
The group parted ways after ice cream. Tina, Jaylan, Sandy and I headed to the bus stop to catch the bus to MK. Just as we got there the bus pulled up! How is that for timing! The ride to MK was smooth and we were there in no time. We said “goodbye” to Tina and Jaylan and headed toward Fronteirland via the train.
The line was too long for Splash and FP were gone so we skipped it. I asked Sandy what she wanted to do in the meantime. She had no suggestions so we kept walking. The line for Haunted Mansion was short so we got in it. In no time we had a Doombuggy and were headed into spook central.
After the ride we walked around Fantasyland and decided to see Mickey’s Philharmagic. By this time it was close to 9:00. When we got in the theater I looked at the time and wondered what time Spectro was. I asked a CM and she assured me that Spectro was at 11 and Wishes was at 10!
At this point Sandy was getting alittle grumpy. We walked back to the hub and decided once Wishes was over we would leave. I knew I would be able to catch Spectro another time during the week. I wanted to get photos so Sandy headed to Main Street Square and I made my way into the crowd in front of the castle and tried to secure a spot to watch Wishes. The spot I found was not so good. I was in the middle of the street between Casey’s and the Ice Cream Parlor. In front of me were CM with HUGE airline like light wands that they held high in the air to direct pedestrian traffic. I positioned myself so that I could get the best shot and the fewest heads. The show started and a kid in front of me decided after each blast he was going to throw his hands in the air. If that wasn’t bad enough a guy in front of me (and about 40 other people) decided to hoist his little girl on his shoulders! A CM went to talk to him but the kid stayed up there so I am not sure what the CM said to him. This was not a good spot to watch so I found a different vantage point to enjoy Wishes and decided not to get pictures. I have the soundtrack for Wishes at home and I play it all the time in my car so I knew when I start headed back to meet Sandy. Once the final firework sequence was in the air I had made it to Main Street Square, I found Sandy, yelled her name and then pointed at the exit. She nodded and we made a sprint to the exit to catch the resort monorail (that just makes one stop at The Contemporary then goes to TTC). We then boarded a monorail to Epcot. It was such a nice relaxing ride I almost fell asleep. Sandy and a maintenance CM were the only ones in our monorail car. We found my SUV without a problem and pulled into Sandy’s condo complex and feel asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

What a shame about the spot you found - it's so annoying when that happens.
