Noelle & Nicolaus's Adventures in Disney World : A PTR - Page 7 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Wow!! Lots going on!! Good luck with your move! We are looking at moving sometime over the next few months, but just to the next town over. . Looking forward to your update to see if any of our park days overlap!
Shame on me……I ask for your most humble apologies. I have been quite remiss in posting my PTR (or anything for that matter). So much so Passporters was wondering where I was! My excuse (if you will accept it) is all the chaos from moving (several states away not just around the block) and starting a new job. Hopefully my humble apologies will be enough……
So with the moving and the new job it has been crazy however the trip is also right around the corner which is equally crazy inducing. Tomorrow I will purchase our park tickets (the credit card payment has to go through) which means we will be able to decide what fast passes to get. Of course my mother also has to buy theirs so I guess really I am only half way to being able to decide.
I think I am going to try and stock up on cute (and on sale!) Disney princess dresses for Noelle. I am not sure if she will really want to wear them the whole time but I am hoping I can convince her for at least a picture with the appropriate princess. Who knows though, the temperament of a 2.5 year old is fickle at best. No worries if she’s not into it, I am sure there will be plenty of opportunities in the future so I’m not super worried.
Now I believe I alluded to the fact I would fill you all in on what day I will be in what park. Especially important since I think a few people will be in the bubble when I am so I hope to meet up. Keep in mind there is a good chance any free time will be spent in Epcot as my mom is dreaming over all the F&G exhibits and such. She is in heaven at the thought of it all, gardening is her thing and they just announced a hummingbird exhibit that she cannot wait to see.
As of right now this is my days and parks. I have not even gotten a chance to write it in my fancy deluxe pass porter (birthday gift from my mom!) but I hope to soon. Possibly when my parents and I meet up to decide our fast pass selections…….
Sunday May 4 : First day is ALWAYS MK. I MUST ride PotC as the very first ride on the very first day. It is tradition
Monday May 5: Epcot at least for the morning. Possibly MK in the afternoon after a break just because it is close, depending on what my parents want to do.
Tuesday May 6: Probably AK as we have an early reservation at Hoop De Doo review, although I might switch this to HS because we don’t ride much there and I always spend more time at AK then I anticipate
Wednesday May 7: Probably AK if we don’t go on Tuesday. We have dinner at O’hana so we know it won’t be a late day. I think by then my parents will probably abandon us for DtD which either my husband or I might go to as we like to shop by ourselves there.
Thursday May 8: Morning I think will be free time, I imagine my dad and DH might go off together and maybe I can get my mom to help pool wrangle or something. We have dinner reservations at Epcot but I am sure we will head over there early to enjoy more F&GF
Friday May 9: Breakfast at Chef Mickey and Dessert party mean an MK day. I like to end our trip at MK since it’s my favorite park and screams Disney to me the most. I know at least the children will need a midday nap…and probably me lol
Saturday May 10: Home L Although my parents flight got switched to much later so I might talk to DH about switching to a late flight. Maybe we will resort hop and such.
Ok so that is it for now. Hopefully we will get everyones tickets ordered and then we can start the fast pass selection. I am torn over the new replacement for the photo pass plus. I was going to get that for this trip but the replacement program sounds like more money for not as much goods which has me concerned. I liked the hard copies from restaurants and so I am disappointed they got rid of that. I might have to do more research before I take that plunge……
Great plans! We are just going to miss you, as we fly out to come home on May 4th Maybe our paths will cross in the airport!
I just bit the bullet and got the Memory Maker, as we are going to a waterpark and like the pics they can capture there plus the ride pics! Not sure how we will feel about it, as we were just able to use the Photopass+ last time still!
Sounds like you have some good plans. Hopefully things settle down a bit for you with the move and job working themselves out. Although I've got a 3 1/2 year old and a 1 1/2 year old and thing NEVER settle down around here and we haven't even moved!
We will be in the MK in the evening after our ADR on May 4th! And we are planning an AK day on May 7th, but we will be leaving for lunch at Sanaa and then coming back. I think those are the only two days are plans cross somewhat. We will have to see if we will be able to meet up! Our plans are a little more flexible with having no kids and 9 day park hoppers.
