10 Nights of Magic in The Orlando Trifecta-TR - COMPLETE!! 12/10 - Page 66 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I thought I had replied to your Lion King update but I guess because the boards were having some issues, it didn't post. Anyway, I'm glad you got to finally see Lion King. We saw it when the kids were in kindergarten. I think it's time we go back.
Your meal looks wonderful. I had Tiffins booked for our upcoming trip but changed it. Now I'm sorry I did.

So glad that you enjoyed your meal so much at Tiffins! It sounds like the meal and service matched your expectations from the last time you dined there. I agree that there are so many new restaurants that need to be tried at WDW now!

I enjoyed the show so much and glad I finally got to see it! That's a long time since you saw the show and probably a good time to return. I enjoyed Tiffin's very much for the second time. You may want to at least see if you can change your package and perhaps Tiffin's may be available.

Tiffin's was just as good the second time around. There are just so many new restaurants I need to try and where does one start?

Tuesday, October 10th (Part VI) As I left Tiffin’s, I went over to Africa to check out the entertainment in Harambe Market as I could hear it from the distance. It did not disappoint as usual. It was quite loud, but not in a bad way.
This would not be the last I see of these performers tonight!
After watching the band for a few minutes, I headed towards Asia like before, for another ride on Expedition Everest.
Expedition Everest and the Rivers of Light theater below it, which is empty now, but certainly won’t be for long!
When I arrived at the single ride line, I saw there were a few people in line but not too many. I only had to wait a couple of minutes to be assigned my row. I was in one of the middle rows, which is fine. I think most of the rows are good. It was another good ride and don’t expect anything less. I’m hoping to return just before Rivers of Light so I can experience this at night.
I walked back to Discovery Island as there was something there I hadn’t done in several years. Although, a lot of people aren’t that fond of it, but I don’t mind it. As I arrived near Africa the same band was playing and I stayed a while to watch them as I enjoy their music.
Some nice close-ups of the band
Soon it was off to see what I returned to this area for as another show.
I’ve seen this show on two previous occasions. The first time being on one of my first WDW trips around 2002-3 and the last time being for the Decade of Dreams in 2009. Not something I need to see that often. I know it creeps some people out and especially at the end. It’s a short show at about ten minutes and usually quite easy to get into.
The best part of this show are the animal carvings on the Tree of Life outside, which also houses this show. There are plenty of other details to see as you walk through the tunnel to the theater.
I like this tunnel, which leads to the theater
There are certainly many amazing carvings!
Soon, I arrived outside the theater where many were gathered to enter the show. I think the wait was about five minutes. Once everyone was seated the show began and was entertaining. Although, parts of it are creepy and a bit gross from the sensory effects, you experience during the show from various liquids, smells and other things you feel. It was over rather quickly and I exited the theater, which didn’t take too long.
Some more photos around the Tree of Life and vicinity after exiting the theater.
Love these falls!
After this, I began to walk towards Asia for the Rivers of Light show. I still had over an hour until the show. The plan was to get there 15-20 minutes prior to the show although many people arrive much earlier than this to secure a seat. I wasn’t worried as I had reserved VIP seating with the package.
On the walk to Asia, I stopped at a beverage kiosk and got a mango margarita. It was very good and so refreshing on a hot and humid night! I could certainly have another one of these as it went down rather easily! I will hold off for now, but may return later for another.
Before, entering the theater (as my entrance for VIP) is over near Finding Nemo show, Expedition Everest was in sight and I had time for another ride before the show. The single rider line was still operating and there were about ten people in line, which isn’t terrible. The line moved rather fast and I was assigned my row in just a few minutes. I got row 4, which is a good one. I was looking forward to doing this at night for the first time.
Once our train was loaded, we were off on another thrilling adventure! Once the ride began I knew I’d enjoy this even more. It was a completely new experience at night! The first thing that amazed me was the ascent up the mountain and seeing WDW all lit up, such as Tower of Terror and Spaceship Earth. It was rather cool going through the tunnel both forwards and backwards at high rates of speed in near complete darkness!
Soon the ride was over and glad I finally got to experience Expedition Everest at night as I enjoyed it immensely! I had thought about an encore trip, but I may be pushing my luck with this as I better go to the Rivers of Light Theater and get my seat for the show.

I love doing the single rider on Expedition Everest. A friend of my family did it more than 50 times in one day recently!
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
WOW! That is a lot! I love the ride but 50+ times, not so sure if I could do that. But, certainly one of the best rides in all of WDW!

We don't do It's Tough To Be A Bug that often either. We always find that we get disturbed when watching it by all the people who get creeped out and then walk out early.
It's tough to be a Bug . I'm not sure what Disney was thinking when they made it. We went on for our 1 and only time on that trip when the kids were in kindergarten. I remember Claire bolting out of her seat and trying to get the heck out of that theater.
I love riding EE at night! We did the same thing as you and snuck in another ride on EE right before ROL.
We love It's Tough To Be A Bug but I know that a lot of kids get scared during the whole experience. The carvings on The Tree of Life are truly amazing! Glad you got to ride EE at night as it is a totally different experience! Looking forward to reading your thoughts on Rivers of Light.

I know the show creeps people out and it's over in ten minutes, so not much to deal with.

I can see your point about the show as a bit creepy and close with the sensory experience of it! I can imagine the reaction with some young kids. It could scare them quite so. Glad we think alike regarding EE. I enjoyed my evening ride on it and so different. Will do it again this away on my next WDW trip.

I like the show as well but so many get freaked out by the experience as it does involve bugs! Love those carvings as so many and you notice different ones each time. Enjoyed EE at night as so different and may be the way to really experience it! ROL in next update with great photo coverage!

Glad you enjoyed the photos! It seems hot or miss with a lot here and the show! I'm a fan of the show but don't need to see it every trip but may see it more often.

Our first time to see It’s Tough to be a bug our girls were quite young, they both hated it and cried throughout. No long term damage as we have seen it since and its just another Disney memory. How fun to ride EE at night.

Not a surprise with young kids and the show as others here have stated that as well! EE at night was a great experience at night, so different and great fun! This may be the best way to do EE.
