Cheaper by the Dozen – Lukas’ 1st Birthday Extravaganza! - Page 66 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I absolutely love the pictures that you guys took! I know those sessions can be stressful, but you came away with some memories there!
What fun you're having so far!!! Except for that too tart Italian margarita! That's a crime!
Jill
That's what I'm doing this week too - while the cat's away....
The memories and the pcitures that resulted were well worth the stress of that afternoon!

I do too! Makes for a very memorable experience. Dylan has had his haircut there on every trip - I hope we can continue that tradition and carry it on with Lukas now too.

Poor Dylan, but he is one brave little dude! Glad he liked Star Tours!
I was scared he wouldn't trust us again, but he was! And I'm glad it ended up being a ride he liked.

It used to make me feel a little off too, but the new version is so much better! I think there's so muich going on you don't have time to worry or think about it making you sick. Or maybe the enhancements just made it better.
Sorry everyone! Thanksgiving and planning ADRs for our next trip has gotten in the way. I did however make all my ADRs this morning and got what I wanted!
We arrived at MK around 3:30pm and had some time before the boys’ appointments at Harmony Barber Shop at 4:30pm.
Dylan always wanted to put in his ticket himself.
There was a 10 minute wait to see Mickey & Minnie so we headed right in. We got up to the part where they ask how many in your party and when we said 10 we got a bugged eyed look and ‘hold on’. Didn’t matter as we were let in soon, but I guess they only let so many into the area just before M&M and we took up almost all that space ourselves. Mike & I took the boys up. They were still a bit apprehensive, but not as bad as yesterday with pooh & Tigger. I did have to hold Dylan and man that kid is getting big! Soon his legs will be dragging on the ground or he’ll be the one holding me.
Then I got the whole group of us up there with the two head mice. I’m so glad we got this – it’s one of my favorites!
We still had time and the Princesses were only a 10-15 minutes wait so we hopped in their line. In retrospect we should have done the Princesses first and then Mickey & Minnie, as the Princess line grew while we were with M&M, but that’s ok. We got up to just before you round the corner for the Princesses and asked how many in your party and got the same exact reaction! I guess they don’t get many big groups through there. The Princess meets went pretty good with the boys, especially Dylan(refer to pics to see for yourself), but were done after Belle, so I met Cinderella by myself. She’s my favorite!
Asking is his Lightning McQueen shoes made him really fast.
And then about his pins.
Goin in for the kiss.
Love Belle! She was so great. And these pictures are priceless!
Belle's lipstick, which was requested to come off right after this was taken.
All the girls.
Belle really wanted to smooch Lukas too, but he was having NO part of it.
Talking about my 'Cinderella' wedding.
After our brush with royalty we headed on over to the Barber Shop for the haircuts. It was a little crowded and every chair was occupied when we arrived. Once there was a free seat someone got up to go , but I piped up and asked ‘what if you have a reservation?’ That got us in! I was hoping they’d do Dylan when another CM became free, but the same lady did both boys. It turned out ok, but took longer than it could have. Lukas was first and he did really well – no tears! YAY!
Then it was Dylan’s turn. He did so good. I was so proud. He isn’t very good when it comes to haircuts – bribery comes in handy with them. Heck he got a monster truck from my MiL afterwards and we told him he could go to MSB/candy store for a goodie after too. He looked so grown up after his new do too.
A CM wanted to play with Dylan's new monster truck too.

Wow - great wait times. I think I like the idea of having Minnie and Mickey together. You got such great pictures with the characters and I LOVE the lipstick picture and the fact he wanted it wiped off immediately. That needs to be written down!
I love the Belle kiss! Priceless. And I'm glad the boys did well with the haircuts. Even if a little bribe was needed. Had you made the appointments before you left or when you got to WDW? I'm planning on getting Cameron's first haircut there.

Yay for the haircuts, too! Super cute.
I love the M&M are together. And the themeing of the area (backstage dressing room) is really neat too. I wish I would've taken a pictures looking the other way.

I'm so glad they did good too. Because I have had quite a few not so good experiences with Dylan as well. They both need haircuts again.
I made the reservation before we left. You can make them 180 days in advance. I believe you call 407-WDISNEY to make a reservation. I'd suggest making one because it can be quite a long wait.

What great shots from your visits with Mickey and Minnie and the Princesses...and Dylan and Belle - adorable.
Sorry about the wait for the haircuts but both boys looks so handsome Loved Lukas with all his stickers and Dylan does look so grown up with his new cut.
Glad the boys did better when meeting the characters today. Love the one of Dylan getting a kiss from Belle!!! And the boys look so handsome with their new haircuts!!
Honestly, I don't know how you're going to scrap this trip with so many incredible photos already! Lukas is so adorable getting his haircut and Dylan's kiss from Belle is a gem. The group photo with Mickey and Minnie is amazing-- it's a good shot of everyone!
