10 Nights of Magic in The Orlando Trifecta-TR - COMPLETE!! 12/10 - Page 65 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

FOTLK is such a brilliant show - you're right it is a bit like LaNouba. I agree the waiting area can be tough - it gets quite hot and so many people are so close together. Glad you got such excellent photos, and were finally able to enjoy this show - 3rd row is a score
I enjoyed the show so much. Waiting in line for a while wasn't great but the reward was worth it. Glad you enjoyed the photos and I had such a good seat.

Great pictures from AK! I can’t believe that was your first time seeing FoLK! Glad you enjoyed the show!
I can't believe it either and so glad I finally did as such a great show!

Tuesday, October 10th (Part V) After enjoying the Festival of the Lion King show, I had one mission before dinner and that was a ride on Expedition Everest. Just hoping the single rider line isn’t too long or not open as that happens on occasion. So, I began to walk towards Asia from Africa. I should be there in about ten minutes or a bit less.
Well, on the way and near Kali River Rapids I got a few photos of some active guys in the area who were enjoying the hot and sunny afternoon.
They are certainly the acrobats and living on the edge!
After enjoying the entertainment, I continued my walk and arrived at Expedition Everest. I dashed over to the single rider line and there were only two other people in line. How about this for timing? Shortly, I was given my row number and was on Expedition Everest for another thrilling ride. This never disappoints. I always enjoy the views of WDW while we are ascending the mountain. Then it gets exciting with the fast portions both forwards and backwards!
After a great ride, I headed back to Discovery Island for dinner at Tiffin’s. Even with the ride, I still had about 20 minutes until my ADR. Glad I made good time for EE.
I arrived at Discovery Island in just a few minutes. There was a bit of entertainment here that was just ending or moving on elsewhere.
After this, I made the short walk over to Tiffin’s for my Rivers of Light Dining package ADR. I dined here for the first time in October, 2016 and had a very memorable meal. I was looking forward to another experience like this. It would be different this time as I went with three appetizers and a dessert my first time. Today, it’s a prix fixe meal with the package so it will be appetizer, main course and dessert.
I checked in for my 4:10 pm reservation and shortly I was escorted to my table in the Grand Gallery. There are three rooms in Tiffin’s with the other two being the Safari and Trek Galleries. Last time I dined in the Safari Gallery and is much smaller and intimate compared to the large Grand Gallery. The latter is still quite nice as you’ll see shortly.
My server Anthony arrived at my table and introduced himself. He went over the menu in detail with me as well as some of his favorite items on the menu. He let me look over the menu for a bit and he returned with some ice water and bread, which was quite unique to most restaurants. I made my choices as well as ordering a glass of Chenin Blanc for my appetizer and would probably have another one for my main course.
Pomegranate Focaccia with an Olive Oil, Molasses and Pomegranate blend
The bread was very good and had a lot of flavor to it and quite soft. The oil blend added a lot of flavor to the bread and you don’t need much of it.
After enjoying the bread, Anthony returned with my appetizer course.
Red and Green Tomatoes with Fresh Mozzarella, Cucumbers, Basil, Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar
This is Tiffin’s take on a Caprese Salad, which I always enjoy. I’m not big on green tomatoes as they are somewhat bitter, but the rest of it I enjoyed. I think it would have been good to include a bit of pesto sauce on the plate with this course to make it even better.
After enjoying this course, Anthony cleared my plate and settings and I ordered a glass of Cabernet for my main course. He returned shortly with my wine and my Rivers of Light ticket, which you’ll see shortly. Before my main course arrived, I got up and took some photos of the Grand Gallery.
As you can see the Grand Gallery has great theming and detail to it.
My ticket for the show
Anthony returned in a few minutes with my main course. This was a special on the menu and a bit different to the one on the regular menu.
Wagyu Beef Tenderloin and Brisket with a Demi-Glace Reduction accompanied by roasted Purple Potatoes and Root Vegetables. The brisket portion, I believe is not usually on the menu to accompany the tenderloin.
This was very good and both the brisket and tenderloin were cooked perfectly with a very flavorful sauce that went well with the dish. The veggies were fine as were the potatoes but not exceptional. This course was a winner and I enjoyed it very much. A good size portion with it not being too much or too little, which is a good thing unless you’re planning on leftovers for dinner tomorrow.
After finishing my course, Anthony returned and I told him how good the course was. He seemed to appreciate this much. He handed me the dessert menu and I looked it over for a bit. I knew right away what I wanted. I told Anthony what I wanted and ordered an expresso too, which always goes well with dessert.
Anthony returned shortly with my expresso and shortly after with my dessert. Here is what turned up!
Key Lime Cheesecake with various accompaniments
This was so good and had so much key lime flavor to it, which I always want as I’m a big fan of it. The cheesecake was not that heavy as opposed to American cheesecake which tend to be. It was rather light and not too filling. Overall, I was very happy with this and I’d certainly get it again!
After finishing my meal, I settled my bill with Anthony. I told him how much I enjoyed the entire meal and that it was my second time here. I will return, but not sure if it will be on my next trip as there are so many other places I need to try. I’m glad I’ve had two very memorable experiences at Tiffin’s. I think it may be one of the best signature restaurants on property.
I left the restaurant on to do other things as I had a couple of hours before the Rivers of Light Show.
NEXT: Like A Completely New Experience at Night!

More great pictures from AK! What a great meal at Tiffins!
Glad you enjoyed them. Tiffin's is great and have now had two amazing meals there and won't be the last! It's quite an exceptional eatery and certainly a WDW gem!
Hope you get to dine here one day and the ROL package is a good deal as it's the regular menu and nothing is exempted from it! I remember when Cam booked it and found out the Wagyu beef was on it as a pricey entree. When I found that out I changed my package from Tusker House to Tiffin's. It was well worth the price!

Great timing to get in a ride on EE before dinner. Your dinner looked delicious, its great that both times you have eaten here you have enjoyed it.
Time certainly worked out with this! It was a great meal and why I will be back. Even better as both occasions and have dined in two out of three rooms!

I enjoyed it so much from start to finish! I plan to return but not sure when as so many other eateries I need to try first!

Great meal at Tiffins! I agree, it really is a fabulous signature restaurant!

It certainly is and one of the best at WDW as far as signatures. Love the theming as well as so well done.

It was quite enjoyable and I had a very good server as well. I hope you enjoy it next month as much as I did.

Oh, it most certainly was and some! I think somewhat of a hidden gem in the AK and WDW for a siggie. But, I think more guests are finding out how good the cuisine is here as well as the theming from the ROL packages!
