10 Nights of Magic in The Orlando Trifecta-TR - COMPLETE!! 12/10 - Page 64 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Ok so this tour has now become a MUST DO for us next year and now has its own place on the agenda!
With there being 4 of us, we’ve always thought the tours are too expensive for us but at $30 each, that’s very doable.
Ps, loving your TR x
It quite a special tour and you can't beat the price! You won't regret it! It's very educational as the CMs are so great and how can you beat being the company of elephants this close!

It was quite an amazing experience by being the only one on this tour with so much personal attention! Glad you enjoyed the photos. I thoroughly enjoyed this tour so much as I learned a lot and the elephants were so active for my tour! I loved Stella as she was the star! So glad I did this and for such a good price!

Tuesday, October 10th (Part IV) After my Caring for Giants tour, I still had some time before my final FP+ of the day. I decided to take a walk towards Discovery Island and get some photos of the Tree of Life.
Love all these details on the base of the tree, which makes it so unique.
After several minutes at the Tree of Life, I made the short walk back to the Harambe Market area, where my FP+ is located. I stopped for a little while as there was some good entertainment going on as there always seems to be.
After spending some time here and enjoying the entertainment, I continued over towards my FP+ location. Of course, I managed to get a few photos of the Harambe Market area as I got closer.
You can see my next FP+ in the distance
Festival of the Lion King
I entered the FP+ line at around 2:30 pm and the show is at 3pm. Already, the line was quite extensive for a show that’s thirty minutes away. Surprisingly, this will be my first time seeing this show as it seems every time I wanted to see it there was a conflict of sorts. Either the show had just started or the next one was some time away or I had another FP+ or other plans that conflicted with it. I’m just glad I’ll finally get to see it as I’ve heard only positive reviews of it.
While in line, it was quite hot and humid from the weather and just being in line, even though there was cover in parts of the line. It seemed like I was in this line forever as they usually let people in about 15 minutes prior to show time. That time passed and more so. I thought to myself, how long are we going to have to wait? It seemed like the previous show got out a bit late and perhaps, this was part of the reason for the delay. Finally, at nearly 2:55 pm they began letting us in. As I had a FP+ for this show, I was hoping for a good seat, but all of us in this line did too. I entered the theater and was told to go to the FP+ seating straight across. I got a good seat in the third row! It took a while for everyone to enter and be seated and the show would be starting about ten minutes late. The theater was nearly 100% full once the doors closed and the lights dimmed.
It's show time and I was looking forward to seeing this for the first time! I basically knew what to expect from reading about it and via the TRs on this board and especially Cam’s from the great coverage and photos. For the most part, it will be mostly photos and just some commenting on occasion.
As you can see the opening of the show is quite a spectacle with the four floats, various performers and choreography. The music is great as well.
One look at Simba and one does wonder how could a lion be dangerous?
There is so much going on during the show and tough to keep up with it at times!
This was my favorite part of the show and for a second I thought I was at a performance of La Nouba.
I enjoyed this effect!
As you can see the show is not short on the entertainment!
The show’s finale was now underway!
As with any finale most of the show’s performers would be a part of this
The show then came to an end
Once the show concluded, being in the third row, I was one of the first to leave my section and walk quickly across the theater to the exit. There were a lot of people here but I made a quick exit without having to wait for throngs of people in front of me.
I enjoyed this show so much and glad I finally saw it and fit it into my Animal Kingdom schedule. I think getting an FP+ was the easiest way to do it. It was quite entertaining with so much going on with the various floats and the represented characters from the Lion King movie. The stage performers were amazing from the music, songs, choreography and acrobatics. Just a great show overall and glad I covered it well with the photos. I will certainly return!
Once, I got outside the theater I had some time before my Rivers of Light ADR at Tiffin’s. So, I headed towards Asia and hoped the single rider line for Expedition Everest would be short and could get one ride in.

I am so happy for you that you finally got to see The Festival of the Lion King, such an incredible well-done stage show. You are right about so much going on the entire show. You did a great job with photos for your first ever visit!

You think you're happy, well I was totally enthralled by the show as I just loved it so much!
As you said it's so well done and never a moment where you can possibly dose off even for a second I'm repeating myself but enjoyed this show so much from start to finish and can't wait to see it again! Just an amazing show overall!
It's just crazy with what is going on and at times I felt like I was watching a tennis match!
Glad you enjoyed my photos from my first show as I did my best and I think I succeeded overall as I got a lot and from all sections of the show! Now I know from your TRs how special this show is and I can guarantee there will be many returns!

I’m glad you finally got to see FOTLK! It’s such a great show and you captured it amazingly with your photos! Aren’t the tumble monkeys amazing? I believe that some of them are former Olympians!

That was a while to wait to get into Festival of the Lion King, but worth it - it's such a good show.
I wasn't expecting the wait and certainly worth it! I really enjoyed the show!

I agree it’s so nice to wander around the Tree of Life and loook at all the animal carvings.

FOTLK is such a brilliant show - you're right it is a bit like LaNouba. I agree the waiting area can be tough - it gets quite hot and so many people are so close together. Glad you got such excellent photos, and were finally able to enjoy this show - 3rd row is a score
