As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

Come to think of it, this is what I remember my little brother and I eating on our last trip to Disney (he had the pizza, I had the Speghetti minus the meatballs). Thanks for the pix. By the way as I look through all these pages, DH keeps leaning over my shoulder asking what some of the dishes are, or commenting that looks good, scroll back to that. He is such a foodie (no wonder why he was a Cullinary Arts student in College which I'm trying to get him to finish up). Thanks for all these great inspirations to guide us where to eat on our next trip.
I'm with you girls. Frozen pizza (even though it was california pizza's pizza) and a caesar salad don't even come close the yummmmmmy food here. especially all the desserts.
Has anybody actually been to New Orleans? Are they actually like the Beignets that they serve at Cafe Du Monde? I'm not staying at Port Orleans but I want to know if it's worth it to take the trip over. If they're like the one's in New Orleans it'll totally be worth it!
We're making a stop over to POFQ during our trip to try the Disney Beignets out. DH is from New Orleans and I tried them for the first time when we went out to New Orleans for his Grandma's Funeral at Cafe du Monde (where they originated) and they were to die for. If anyone on here takes a trip out to New Orleans Cafe du Monde's are much better than Cafe Beignet's and Cafe du Monde is open 24/7 and they have 2 locations.

I saw them make this on Rachael Ray during the last "So You Think You Can Cook" Competition and thought that looks delicious. I had no clue it had 3 scoops of Ice Cream. I was on such a mission to make that for my past birthday instead of a Birthday cake. I had no success. I guess I'll have to wait to enjoy this with DH and DS when we head down in May/June 2010. Disney is killing me btw since they aren't posting the Disney Schedule or Packages for 2010 until Mid August (I just got the e-mail today). I so want to plan the trip already.
Next time I'm there I have to try a Cafe au Lait. The day we went even in December was 90 Degrees out that I needed water (they only had bottled water) which also came in handy for getting all the powdered sugar off my dark shirt and jeans (still managed to sit in powdered sugar and had it all over front and bck). Lesson learned, wear light clothes when eating beignets. I also promised DH that we would eat at POFQ so he can get his Muffelatta Sandwich even though he got to enjoy one brought back from New Orleans last month when his parents and our son returned from their Mardi Gras trip.
I know my DH isn't a picky eater, whereas I am, this whole thread has really helped me figure out what places to try that I never have. I've only had 1 Character Dining (5/6 years old) and only remember a cake being brought to my sister for her b-day by the characters, not the meal itself, and us going to the Luau at the Poly (just remember us hula dancing not the meal itself). Most of my dining at Disney has been QS/CS. Nothing Fancy. I don't eat red meat, but I have seen so many Chicken Dishes that look absolutely divine, even some sandwiches that would appeal to my unadventerous palate. As I need visual aids to know what something is, this forum is out of this world helpful.
