Forums Closed

As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Re: 2 Dental Diva’s and family go to WDW
More fun in AK!
After lunch we headed back over to Asia and did the tiger trail where to our shock (NOT) the tigers were sleeping against the wall. I would love to see them running around, playing in the water, chasing a ball ANYTHING but sleeping!!!
Jim took Jameson back to the hotel while the girls and I stayed and did Dinoland.
First up was Dinosaur with almost no wait at all! I love to scream my brains out on this ride! For this picture we did do the “dumb” pose and it came out sooo good that I bought the picture.
We poked around the gift shop for awhile , taking goofy pictures and then went over to spinning roller coaster.
On our way to it we almost stepped in a big pile of puke Not a good sign! Our car seemed to whip around a lot harder and faster than the others and I really felt sick for 10 - 15 minutes after the ride was over.
We shopped at a few stores but didn’t buy anything and finally made our way to the entrance/exit. On the way to the bus stop Pam saw a cloud and insisted that I take a picture of it because she thought it looked like a hidden mickey. Do you see it?
Back at the hotel we grabbed our suits and went swimming with boys, but first we stopped to fill up our mugs and Siobhan got a soft serve ice cream . They filled up the cup way too much and by the time she got outside it was melting all over the place so she and Pam stopped on the bridge to eat it. 2 days later her ice cream stain was still on the bridge! Jim and Jameson had rented a surrey bike and Jameson so much that the did it again the next day!
We spent a relaxing afternoon by the pool. First by the quiet pool but there were too many ducks in it and it was brown. So we went over to the Dig Site and went in the hot tub. Jim bought Jameson a pair of arm swimmers and he did very well with them! He usually uses a life jacket but I think he has graduated to the arm things!
We went back to room around 4 to get ready for our night in Epcot. Pam and Siobhan were going to eat in Mexico while Jim wanted to eat in Germany. UGH! I really hate the smell of that place! Jim however grew up in a eastern european household and loves that stuff. We left the girls behind and this time gave Pam my cell phone knowing that I would be with Jim so I would have access to a phone this time!
Walking through WS was a nightmare. It was the second to last night of the Food and Wine Festival and it was crazy! People were everywhere and I could barely move the stroller. We finally bought Jameson one of the huge flashlights (kinda like a light saber) and he held it up while sitting in his stroller. It helped so much. People could see us coming and got out of our way I will be using this trick for WS in the night for as long as Jameson is in a stroller!
As soon as we got by Germany Jim changed his mind about eating there. I kept trying to persuade him to go but he said no. He knew Jameson and I wouldn’t eat much if anything there so we settled for a hamburger at the American pavilion.
Getting by all the drunks singing with Loverboy (at the American Garden Stage) was funny . So many of them were my age rockin’ along to “Working for the Weekend “ ahhhh the good ol’ days We found a table inside by the skin of our teeth and Jim waited while I got the food. We stayed for a little while then lingered around each country until we got to the International Gateway. Jameson wanted a cupcake so we walked over to the less crowded Boardwalk and to the bakery. I called Pam to tell her to meet us there and we will catch the bus to DTD from there while Jim and Jameson walked back through Epcot to get the bus back to the hotel.
I had a chocolate cupcake and Jameson had the most delicious vanilla one. OMG It was soooo good. While waiting for the gals I tried out taking some night shots. I just figured out how to change the setting for this (after having the camera for a year )
30 minutes later Pam and Siobhan showed up and we said our goodbyes to the guys and took off for DTD.
coming up: I offer an embarrassing story up for the sake of comedy

Re: 2 Dental Diva’s and family go to WDW
My embarrassing story for the sake of comedy
Well tonight better be the night that the cast at Comedy Warehouse askes for an embarrassing story because it’s Siobhan’s last night and she really wants to see it! We made our way over to CW and got right in line for the nights show. We got great seats in front by the stage and were happy to hear that Philip was working! He makes funny announcements while everyone is getting settled like “Ladies and Gentlemen a generous gratuity to your server makes sure your drink is saliva free” or my personal favorite “Ladies and Gentlemen if you brought young children with you tonight you are bad parents”
The show started and the second part of the show they asked those magic words, “does any have an embarrassing story to share” My hand was up in the air and Brian called on me! I went on to explain how Pam and I about 5 years ago went to Typhoon Lagoon and were walking to the wave pool and commenting on everyone screaming when the bell would go off and the wave would come. We made catty comments like “Jeez have they never seen a wave before” things like that. Well I soon ate my words when I had Siobhan and her older brother Terrence by the hand as we walked into the pool and a huge wave came crashing towards us. I screamed and was tossed backwards ass over teakettle, lost the kids I was holding on to and tumbled away. I stood up sputtering looking around for the kids and making sure everything was ok when I felt a cold breeze on my chest. My bathing suit strap slipped off my shoulder, way down to my tummy on one side only. I whipped it up and died. I have no idea if anyone saw and I don’t want to know! So Brian is laughing and asked for the cast to come out and sing a song about me. Oh I wish I could remember it but alas I can’t. I do remember that in Brian’s part I was a stripper on vacation and Philip’s made me gasp as his part said he had to poke out his eyes at what he saw! Hmmmmm maybe he is not my favorite any more! Siobhan was dying with laughter as was Pam (me too). It was great and they gave a special nod to me after they were done.
We stayed for 2 more shows before calling it a night. Siobhan got to see some really drunk people tonight so it was educational for her to see how dumb people are when the drink! See we try to learn something with every experience We walked back to the bus stop and were freezing! It was a little windy and it really got to us this time of night. I felt so old when I saw a group of people just starting their night as we were leaving!
Boy do you have to have an extra steady hand taking night shots!
On the way back I decided that I was going to get off at bus stop #1 and see if I would beat the girls back to the room because they where going to get off at our normal bus stop #4. I promised not to run and walk at a normal pace. I got off and walked to the left of the main building along the path that cuts along the building. I crossed the bridge and was at our building in less than 3 minutes. I waited on the steps like a stalker for another 5 waiting for them. They were so mad that I won! Back in the room Jim was still awake, changing his bloody band-aid, which was really healing very fast, and we said our goodnights and thought sadly how tomorrow was our last full day.
