As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Re: Colexi\'s Spring Break Adventure - Thread 3 of 3 - Updated 6/3
...........continued from previous post
There was another long line to get into the IG, probably 10 minutes or so. Once thru, we headed off in search of dinner (for Matt and the kids anyway). We opted for Yorkshire County Fish Shop (another first for us). The kids ended up with a hotdog, and Matt had the fish and chips. I just ate the leftovers! Since the line was so long at the shoppe (and there weren’t any seats at the adjoining seating area), I took the kids off to sit down near the stage in the back of England. Just as we were making our way thru the path in the back, the British Invasion had just walked out the door, en route to the stage We found a bench, and sat down to listen to them. About 10 minutes later, Matt showed up with the food! It was a great show (and a great way to enjoy a meal) and the kids had a good time.
As we were sitting there, I spotted Tigger and Rabbit outside the back of the Toy Soldier where they do their pictures. I grabbed the autograph book, and the kids, but they must have just finished up, as when I got back there, there was no one around Oh well.
After the show, the kids spent some timing running around the maze hedge (and burned off some energy). They also made a new friend, who was running around with them. It was time to move on, so I took Alexa inside to have her mask stamped at the Kidcot station inside the Toy Soldier, and then we were off toward Canada.
Alas, they had moved the Canada Kidcot station from December. At that time, it was inside the china shop at the top of the stairs (which didn’t make good sense to me, I was nervous I was going to break something in there, nevermind kids swatting their masks around). Apparently the china shop is now closed. So back down the stairs we went, and found it right inside the shop at the bottom (of which I’ve forgotten the name). Again, Alexa got her stamp, and we were soon on our way after looking around a bit. Of course, now Alexa needed a potty break. It was a bit early for the PP meet, but as we passed the Off Kilter stage, I spotted immediately Karen and Allan :hello: We exchanged hugs and greetings, and I had to apologize and say I’d be back, I was on a mission with Alexa We ran over to England to use the facilities, and then Alexa decided she wanted to get more stamps on her mask. Since it was still about 45 minutes to go until IllumiNations, I knew she’d never last just hanging out with me and Karen and Allan (and whomever else would show up) so Matt took Alexa and Colin to France and onward in search of Kidcot stamps, and would meet up with us closer to IllumiNations.
I headed back toward Canada to find Karen and Allan again! Alas, they had shifted toward the lagoon side now, but I found them We chatted about what they had done so far, and what we had done. Allan had broken his glasses (or was that Karen that had broken them ) Their trip was just beginning, and ours was ending Of course, I got to see the beautiful ring in person (it is gorgeous) Allan also showed me Lucky the Dinosaur, whom we had missed at AK (the only “new thing” we missed this trip). I had been keeping my eye out for any other Passporters, and soon spotted Rhonda (mom2my4dwarfs) milling about (having her PP pouch on helped)! I went over and introduced myself, and brought her and her family over to meet Karen and Allan. We talked about what they had done (their vacation was just beginning as well) and the kids had all sorts of stories! They are great kids, very funny
Finally, the rest of my family arrived and more introductions were had and then it was time to watch the show. I kept my eye out for Joy and Bob and Larry, but I didn’t see anyone else. If you were there and we missed you, After the show, we chatted some more and took some pictures. Rhonda’s kids were running around with their light sabers/wands, and Matt and Allan are in the same business industry although different functions, so they were chatting all about work Funny, it really is a small world Not soon after, it was time to part ways. The crowds were finally thinning out (it was quite crowded in Epcot tonight, I’ll blame that on grad night at MK). We said our goodbyes, and ventured on. It was a really great meet, and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to meet everyone
We headed back out thru the IG, and noticed that they were still letting people thru (presumably to get back to their cars or the monorail on the other side). Security was still checking bags, and they had one turnstile on. It was about 9:45 at this point. So there’s something to know if you need to get back to the front of Epcot, apparently you can still get thru even though the park is closed.
The boardwalk area (even on the BC side) was quite busy with people. We have a newfound appreciation for all the surrey bikes that were going around. It certainly made their rides a lot harder, they could hardly move inside and out of the people. I’m sure most had to push it up the hills, as the walkways were covered with people. As we approached the BC, we heard music (a live band) and found a corporate event happening on the beach. We stopped and listed to that music for a while (and wished we worked for that company ) and then headed inside. Matt grabbed the mugs and headed down for refills, and I unpacked, and repacked for the next day.The kids played with their Legos and Ariel set, and then it was lights out.
Memories of our Eighth Day
The weather today was…….hot and sunny, mid 80s
The best thing today was…..meeting up with fellow Passporters
The worst thing today was……the heat, boy it got hot!
The funniest thing today was……..watching the kids go down the slide for 45 minutes
Today we tried …….Yorkshire Fish Shop for dinner
and the result was…….great food
The most magical moment today was…riding in front of the monorail, and catching Mulan for pictures
Coming Up Next…………….A Goofy Start, and All Good Things Must Come to and End

More great updates Marnie – and how cool that you finally found Mulan for Colin. Those photos are great and despite the fact that he’d only just woken up, you can tell how happy he is to see her!
I love the fish riding on the waves that was waiting for you at your room – how creative!
Your PassPorter meet sounds great – I love the shot of the three of you together. By the way, I know that Joy didn’t make it that night. I remember her saying that in an e-mail, so don’t worry you didn’t miss her.

Re: Colexi\'s Spring Break Adventure - Thread 3 of 3 - Updated 6/3
Day 9 - Saturday April 23rd – A Goofy Start, and All Good Things Must Come to an End
It was another early start for us. I think we started rising around 6:30 this morning, maybe closer to 7. It was another sunny start, but there were rumors of showers this afternoon Breakfast was to be at Cape May Café this morning at 8. We showered and changed, and packed the bags for the day (including the ponchos and stroller covers). I didn’t want to have to come back up to the room before we left
We made it downstairs a few minutes before our PS, and were given a pager. It gave the kids some time to watch the cartoons before we were called in, less than 5 minutes later. We’ve enjoyed breakfast here before, and this morning was no different. We were shown to our table, Hector took our drink order, and we were soon off in search of food We each took one kid since characters were no where in sight! By the time we got back to the table, Goofy was approaching, so breakfast would have to wait.
Matt came back from his plate adventure, and then it was my turn. I ended up with some Mickey waffles, bacon, scrambled eggs, and some potatoes. I was so mesmerized by the yummy food, I sat down at the wrong table With another family already sitting there, not just their napkins or anything Matt got a good chuckle out of that one The rest of the group made their way around.
The restaurant was really filling up when we were getting ready to leave, thank goodness I had asked for an early PS (8:00). We used the DDE card again, and saved about $12 It was about 8:45 now, and the plan was to head over to MGM. On the boat ride over, we more noticed the ever continuing construction at the YC.
We made it to MGM just after opening and were soon walking up Hollywood Boulevard. We decided to first head to Rock ‘n Roller Coaster since the shows weren’t running yet. The only real thing on the agenda today was to meet up with The Incredibles, ride RnRC, and try to see the new stunt show. The line was already long, so we got FPs, that I think returned from 10:15-11:15.
We decided to head over toward the PlayHouse Disney area, and VOLM. I asked Alexa one last time if she wanted to try VOLM, and was greeted with a Okie dokie. There was an early show for Playhouse Disney that we had already missed, so that was out. The animation tour didn’t start until 10, so we headed over to One Man’s Dream. I took a bunch of pictures (the kids like to follow the “road” inside) and then we watched the movie. I hadn’t seen that one before, it was quite good. There were only 3 other people inside besides us, which makes me wonder how long they’ll keep this going (although it’s a great attraction).
