Forums Closed

As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

hear is the first part of the trip. I hope that you all enjoy reading my trip report. we hear goes nothing.
1/9/05 let the fun begin
today we are leaving for the world and we are so excited. let the fun beging and lets get this vacation started.
we finished packing saturday night and then we sat down and watched our disney trip video from our 1997 trip and just seeing my dad in the video made me sad because he was not going on this trip with us adn we really miss him alot. we also had a mickey ice cream cake and pizza for dinner it was a really great night. we all went to bed early so that we would be rested for our journey the next day.
sunday morning we got up and had breakfest and finished packing the van. we packed the puppies up because they where staying with my mom's parents in albany while we where in disney world we have two taco bell dogs streeter and nickea. when we finsihed loading up the van we did a walk throug to make sure that we did not foget anything and then we where on our way to albany to get our flight to disney world.
we left our house in west chester at 9am. we got to my mom's parents house at 11:15 we droped the puppies off and then my grandparents drove us to the airport because my mom did not want to pay for parking for nine days. we got to the airport at 12:10 for our 3:10 flight. we got boarding group a my mom was happy because we would be the first ones on the plane. it was a great flight we got to orlando 25mins early which was good.
we got off the plane and went and got our lugage and then we went to find mears. we went and waited outside for them to come and pick us up it was 75 dagrees out boy was it hot. they arrived fiven mins after we got outside then we where on our way to our home for the next nine days akl.
we got to akl at about 7:00 check in went very fast. we where on the 4th floor we had a pool view with bunk bed and a queen sized bed my 8 year old sister slept with my mom and my 11 year old sister and I got the bunk beds I slept on the top bunk. after we unpacked we went and got some dinner at mara and we got our refillabe mugs which we used all week and it worked out really well we had hamburgers and chicken fingers for dinner the food was really good and we also got some snacks for our room from their.
after we had dinner we went to zawadi marketplace we got some postcards and my purchesed pal mickey he is such a cool thing to have in the parks.
we where walking back up to our room when we got a suprise my dad's parents had come to suprise us they live in tampa during the winter so they came to see us they live down the stree from us in west chester. we where really happy to see them we ralked for awile and then we said our goodbuys and they said that they would come and see us again before we came home we saw them again on friday.
we went back up to our room and watched a little tv and then it was lights out because we had an eary day the next as we had am 8am priority seating at cindys royal table and it is magic kingdom day.

well today is our first full day at the world
today is cindy's royal table and magic kingdom day:
we got a wake up call from mickey at 6:30am. we got up and got showered and got everthing reday to goto the magic kingdom and cindy's royal table. we left our room at 7:45 to get the bus to the magic kingdom for our 8:30 priority seating at cindy's. the buswas waiting for us when we got to the bus stop.
we got to the magic kingdom at 8:05 and we went through the turn styles and walked down the empty main street and got some really good shots of the castle and we got our picture taken in front of the castal.
we got to cindy's at 8:25 and we where seated very quickely we where seated on the side of the main room. as soon as we where seated the charatersd started comming around jasmin is my 8 year old sister britney's favorit charator we got everyones autograph and lot's of pics with them. the food was really good and we all really enjoyed the atmosphear at cindy's. we left cindy's at 9:25 and headed out to ride some rides.
our first ride of the day was dumbo that is our favorit ride in the magic kingdom. we also road big thunder mountin and splash mountin. and the magic carpet ride and pooh's honey pot ride and mickey's phihemonic that is our favorit 3d ride in disney world now.
we started getting hungery so we got hamburgers at paco bills the food was really good we also had pop corn that is the best pop corn that we have ever had in our lives.
after we had lunch we rode some more rides and then we got a spot for the 3pm share a dream come true parade. it was one of the best parades that we have ever see and we would see other parades later in the week at the other parks and then we would decide which one was beter.
after the parade was over we went and did some shopping in the tinker bell store I got some really cool tinker bell stuff a snow globe and two big mugs. my little sisters and my mom also gots lots of stuff.
it was really hot today so we all had mickey ice cream bars and they where really good.
for dinner we went to epcot and went to lacelliar for dinner. the meal was ok. we had stake the thing that I did not like about it was that they put bbq sause on the stake and they had nasty potatos.
after dinner we went back to the hotel and went to mara to fill our mugs and got some desert and then we went for a swim in the pool. after we where done we went up to our room and set the wake up call for 7:00 as we where having breakfest in our room the rest of the trip we got cereal and donuts from mara the rest of the week. after watching a little tv it was time go go to sleep and dream about lions tigers and mickey as we where going to animal kingdom the next day.

well today is day three of our disney vacation
today is animal kingdom day:
today we got a 7am wake up call from mickey we got up and got showered and had a quick bite to eat in our room and then we got our stuff together to go to animal kingdom for the day.
we got to the bus stop and the bus for animal kingdom was waiting for us this was the way things would play out for the remander of our trip.
we got to animal kingdom at 8:45 and went through the turn styles. we then walked to the tree of life and had the picture taken in front of it. we had one taken at each park and we got all four of them. after we had that done my sister britney said that she was thursty so we went and got something to drink we got the drink bottles with the animal heads on them because you could refill them for 90 cents we also got the animal kingdom pop corn bucket we had one from each park.
after we got a drink we went and got a fast pass for the safari and then we went and walked around and looked at the animals till it was our time to go on the safariwe really liked this ride and we did it again later in the week.
after we did that we went and got some animal kingdom suvinears I got a tshirt and some postcards and my mom and my sisters got some stuff.
when we where done with that we went and got in line for kalie river rapids. the ride was cool but it is not as long as the one in six flags in new jersey. but we got really wet anyway.
when we where done with that we went over to dino land we saw what expadision everist is going to look like we can't wait to ride that ride in 2007. we went on that crazy mouse type ride and we did not like it my sister britney cried on it because she got wip lash and so did I. we really did not like that area of the park my mom said that it is not disney she said that it looks like a cheap carnival. we went on dinosor and we really liked that ride because it is a dark ride.
after that we walked around that park some more and we decided that we wanted to go and see the lion king. it was one of the best shows that we saw we loved it so much that my mom is getting us tickets to see the show on broadway for mothers day.
after that we wherr getting hugery and we had done everything in the park that we wanted to do so we went and picked up our picture and we went to rain forest cafe for a lat lunch early dinner the food was really good and the suff that they have around the restaront is really cool.
when we where done we decided to go back to the lodge and get changed and we where going to go back to the magic kingdom and see wishes.
we got to the magic kingdom and got a great spot right in front of caseys hot dog shop. we really liked wishes it was one of the best fire works shows that we have ever seen. when wishes was over we went and got some ice cream so that we did not have to fight the croud geting out of the magic kingdom.
when we where done we got the bus back to akl and we went and got some snacks and we weant back up to our roon and got our mugs and my sister alicia and I went and filled the mugs and we ordered a pizza to take back to the room because we where all hungrey. the pizza was really good.
after we ate we watched a little tv and the we set the wake up call for 7am again. then we all went to sleep because we had a big day planed the next day epcot.
