Is Belle a Disney Character? September 2015 PTR - Page 6 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Ugh, I hate Disney nightmares.
Great plans for day 2! Love your list of snacks from each country!
The nightmares are the worst! When I wake up from them I at least make sure that I still have all my ADRs booked

I agree that Universe of Energy is a great respite in the middle of the day. American Adventure is another one for me. Try as I might, I can not stay awake through the entire show!
I hate Disney nightmares. My recurring dream is that it's almost time to go home and I realize we have not been to one park! And when we do get to any of the parks, we wander around trying to find the entrance and never actually get inside.
Have to include dessert! Actually, looking at my list, I’m wondering if there are enough NON-dessert items!
I didn’t even think of American Adventure! Mom used to love to hear me sign, I’m sure that she will also enjoy the Voices of Liberty in the American Pavilion! Adding it to my plans!!
OMG any nightmare where you can’t find the entrance = The Worst. It worries me just thinking about it.

I feel very fortunate not to have had any of those types of nightmares! I may have, actually. I never remember my dreams.
I always feel like “Yes, I’m going to use all my snack credits this time! Two a day, just like the plan!” and then I end up at a park saying “Well, I’m going to save it because what if I want something later…” and end up with all of them at the end of the trip Guess I’m better at planning to use them!
Lucky you! I even have some dreams that I wake up and I’m like… whaaaaat was that all about?!

Congratulations on the free dining....the trip plans sound wonderful.
Thanks! Any little bit of a discount helps at this point! I've even considered downgrading to the regular Dining Plan but… nah, I couldn't do it

How exciting to have your mom visiting soon!!!
And I love your list of snacks to try around the world!
They really are the worst!
Mom and I have started our countdown. We talk every morning and before we say goodbye it’s, “13 days!” – just like if it was Disney
I figure the snacks idea will be more leisurely than trying to explore all the countries. I also strive to do something similar for F&WF someday!
Well, I don't have a huge update to do today, but rather just a check-in.
Things get very slow in this area during the summer, and so does work.
Upside to that is that I've had a LOT of time to catch up reading other people's TRs and PTRs (even if I haven't commented, I've probably read it - remember, I'm a bit of a lurker ).
While reading Tara's PTR today, she mentioned the dining plan calculator. I'd never heard of it before, so I found it, and tried it out. Well, I wasn't using my dining plan to the best of it's ability.
So what did I do? I went and changed 80% of my dining reservations
Then I took my lunch hour. I didn't think about ADRs, but by the time I got back to my desk, I decided to change them all back to what they originally were Luckily, this wasn't a problem!
Just some fun I had today. In other news, I'm currently stalking a Breakfast reservation for Cinderella's Royal Table (after park opening) for Day 4 of our trip that I did decide I want to add... Guess you'll have to wait and find out if I get it or not!
LOL that you changed back to your original ADRs! I'm glad you did, though. It's about getting the most enjoyment out of your ADRs, not necessarily getting the most for your "money", especially if it's free dining!
Yay! Im all caught up reading! I love the title and your conversation with your mom Belle is my fave too! Anyway, this trip sounds great so far! I love the plans although we tried but did not get BOG for dinner I've tried for two or more years and still no luck Aw no about the car,,, I do know those struggles and they are no fun I do love POP its my favorite value but the 60's are my favorite part to stay in believe it or not! Your dog is just so dang cute!!!!! I want one just like him!!! I cant wait to read along with your trip!

You are so right, and I have to keep reminding myself of that! I keep wanting to add more… but then I remember the reason why I didn’t plan it that way (leisurely touring!) and I prevent myself from doing it! Or I go ahead and book something and then cancel it the next day

Thank you! For a planner like myself, it’s better for me to plan when to use them instead of trying to use them on a whim!

Thank you for joining! I’m not going to lie, when I got the BOG reservation it was a surprise. I had the reservation I wanted at the first click, then my computer glitched and it was GONE! I was upset and decided to go for one on our full MK day, even though it wasn’t my ideal plan. I secured that, then continued to try for my original plan. Somehow, after a few tries, I ended up getting the reservation again! Never give up!!!

It was a fun day for sure! Part of me is a little disappointed because about 80% of the restaurants I chose, I have eaten at before, but then I remember that all of them are new for Mom, and that’s what matters most
I had to make that comment in my last post about it not being busy, didn’t I?
Things picked up with some people out at work, so in my absence, Mom has come and gone
Mom came down with my Aunt, which I knew about, but apparently the whole time, they were planning to surprise me and bring my Cousin as well!! Here we are at The Fish House before they departed yesterday…
My Aunt even bought me a Minnie shirt!! I can’t wait to show you, but think I need to shed a few more pounds before it will look okay on me Maybe 4th of July!
I love having my family in town, but there was a part of me that wanted my Mom all to myself. I cried a lot yesterday when she left but what’s making it better is that there are only 38 days until I get to visit her in New York!!
Here we are on Sunday at their resort...
Hoping to post our next day of Disney plans soon!!
Day 3, Animal Kingdom!
Day 3:Tuesday, September 15th – Animal Kingdom/Rest? DTD? Water Park?
We will have a very early morning today, with a before-park-opening ADR at Tusker House to see my favorite, Donald! Animal Kingdom will be an entirely new park to Mom, and I can't wait for her to experience it!!
The Safari will most likely be first on our agenda after breakfast, and then possibly a Lion King show. Other must-dos for this park are Expedition Everest and Dinosaur. I would also really like to fit in the Finding Nemo show, if Mom remembers the movie Another absolute priority for Mom and I, meeting Dug and Russell. We just love, love, love Up and HAVE to meet them!!!
Originally I had the afternoon completely free, but decided the I just love Yak & Yeti too much to pass it up! I scheduled a lunch here, and then I will let Mom decide what she wants to do – if there are other rides, shows, or trails she wants to explore at AK, head back to the resort for R&R, go shopping at Downtown Disney, or check out a Water Park!
I’m trying VERY HARD to make this a laid back trip, so if I HAVE to leave one afternoon open, it will be this one I mean… if you can consider one unplanned afternoon out of a 6-day trip laid back Hey I’m trying though!
On that note, if you have any suggestions on how to make a trip MORE laid back, please let me know.
Sidebar – on the same ticket, I feel like I’m not running us ragged because the park hours aren’t very late each night, and I’m not intending on ALL rope drop mornings. I think I’m only trying to reason with myself at this point
I arranged our dinner ADR for Artist Pointe at the Wilderness Lodge. I have a love for this resort, even though I have never stayed there. Mom really wanted to see it, so she saw it as a good opportunity to check out the resort while also having dinner there.
Does anyone know if you can see the Electrical Water Parade from WL? I was thinking we could watch it there, but if it’s not visible from their part of the bay, I’m thinking about us doing a run over to MK to hop a monorail and watch it from the Poly maybe? Open to suggestions!!
We don’t want to be out too late this evening, so if dinner runs too late we will skip anything more and head back to the resort. The next day will be our full MK day!!!
