As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

All the signs are definitely pointing in the direction of DHS for your first day. Hope the "extra magic" happens! Your new bag sounds great. I just got a Vera Bradley carry-on bag that fits easily under my scooter and will hold all my gear! So satisfying to find that perfect bag.
With all those coincidences I think you are suppose to be at DHS. I hope you like your Vera Bradley bag. I love my VB hipster for a park bag. It is the perfect size and I love that it is a cross body so my hands are always free. I get a new one for every trip. (My husband falls for I need a new "park bag" not that I need a new purse ) I can't wait to read about your food choices. Food is one of the best things at Disney!
Sounds like a perfect way to kick off your trip! And love the fashion show approach... still works with my 11-year-old, by the way! Good luck shoe shopping!!!
Cant wait to see pics of the "Perfect" park bag........If this works for you I just might have to get one and try it out Hope you found some shoes at the crocs outlet.

Think DHS will be great for your first day Love all the little ideas from Josie...if she even knew that indeed she will be seeing Miss Piggy and eating and Pizza Planet real soon.
Sounds like so much fun - what a great way to spend a few days together for some one-on-one time. Count me in as also looking forward to seeing your new park bag.

Light parade, people mover.........it's a Jersey thing!
I'm so checking out the butterfly garden! I can't wait.
LOL, must be a Jersey thing!
Glad you figured out your plans for arrival day, from all of Josie's comments it seems perfect. Looking forward to hearing how the bag works out for you, I'm on a quest to find the perfect bag for myself to use in November
That Dawn is just so nosy
But wow!! What coincidences!! If that wasn't a sign I don't know what is. And some for the extra magic at DHS.
So nosy........lucky I love ya so much
Thanks for the pixies, we will have a good time regardless I'm sure. Just really nice for some people to go out of your way for ya though.

Can't wait to see this bag ~ I have yet to find something I like to take to the parks.
Steph and I used to do something similar when she was younger to see what clothes she had outgrown.
I love that little game. I'm going to use it more often.

It sure is. I think this bag may be a winner. We shall see.

I heard "Josie's on a vacation far away" twice last week! Made me think of you.
I hear the begining of that song almost every weekend in the club when one of the DJ's uses it for a mash up set. Gets me soo excited. It was a cool song.

With your girls being older and not having to carry so much "stuff" I think this bag may be a winner. When we go in Sept I'll need more stuff to carry for Andre, but that can go in the stroller
I have a pic of what I hope to be my “perfect bag” I used it this weekend on some outings with the family, and I think I might be in love with it. I’m not big on patterns and prints, I like to stick to solid color things, so this is an adjustment for me.
I wanted to talk FOOD in this post. So here we go. I went into planning this adventure with not really making any ADR’s, I liked the idea of trying out some CS places we have never hit up. Mainly because Josie will find something to eat just about anywhere, so it’s really whatever I want. Hmm, kinda nice right?? So with DHS as our first day, hitting up Pizza Planet would be a must. I’m sure after we get back to POR I may try out the CS there.
On to our second day at Epcot, I made the ADR for lunch with Remy at Chefs. For dinner I think we may try Liberty Inn?? Never went there before, but I heard the burgers are decent. Any other suggestions?
Moving on to our next day at MK I did book the Plaza for dinner. I do love it there and I think that will be a good choice, but as for what to do for lunch, I’m up in the air, so again suggestions?? Our final day I have a breakfast ADR at CRT, but I am pretty sure I am going to cancel that. Actually, I am sure I am going to cancel. We only have a short time to spend there that morning. They do have EMH in the AM that day, so I’d like to hit up whatever we missed the day before and I know being with the princesses will be nice, but I’ll make up for it by standing in some god awful M&G lines elsewhere I’m sure. I’ll still look for a lunch ressie for the day before, but I’m OK with skipping that on this trip.
I do hope to pop over to POFQ at some point to hit up some beignets. I have been to the good ol NOLA many times and I do have a great story about that, but I’m sorry, it will have to wait until my TR for our Sept trip, because it involves Arnaud in a big way. Not so much the beignets part, but NOLA itself. Please remind me if I forget. It’s a good one.
So that’s my FOOD stuff. I am really open to any suggestions on CS. I know I will be putting in a small order to GG for some snacks and breakfast items in our room. Yogurts, bananas, water, real coffee and creamer and bottled water. Guess I should get on that order because I noticed today I’m like 28 days away!!! WHAT 28 DAYS AWAY!!!!!
The new bag looks great! I'm not big on prints, either, but for VB I'll make an exception.
Love the food plans. I always go to Harbor House for QS at MK. I love their Lighthouse Sandwich-- broccoli slaw and hummus on delicious whole-grain bread. I like the rooms there, too. Never seems to be as crazy as other QS places. I don't do stairs, but others say the room upstairs is especially nice, especially the tables with a window view. 28 days!!
