4 Parks 1 Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Journey Home - Dec. 18-23, 2010 PTR UPDATED 12/13 - Page 6 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Countdown 22 - We found on HGTV Behind the Magic: Disney Holidays. It was in the middle of the show, but we found that it was going to be shown again on Monday at 11:00pm. We are DVRing the show, cuz we will be in the bed. I believe that this is the same as what was shown last year, but really a cool look at the holiday magic. I look forward to seeing the whole episode. This also makes me think to tell DDad about it so he can see some of what we will experience. Have a great night everyone.

Day 4-December 21, 2010
We are back to Epcot, where we will again try to take advantage of early morning hours. We will head to Soarin ride and get FP for later. We think Ddad will love this ride. We have to ride Living with the Land as DH this ride and is a geek about landscaping so this is one of his favorites! He is limited to 50 pictures per ride. LOL
We will cross over FW and ride TT and some of us will try Mission Space Green for the first time. The kids really seemed to enjoy TT last time (as you can see from the picture below) but MS will be a first for us.
Head back over to the other side of FW to finish that side and eat at Sunshine Seasons. We thought last year it was good food with a nice variety.
Spaceship Earth and Innoventions will complete our tour of FW and we will go left to Mexico to start our adventures in WS.
We might watch Reflections of China as we have not seen this and we hear Voices of Liberty is a must do item. We will also try to ride milestrom as we have not rode this either. We will try to see the holiday items that we missed from our first night. Another thing we will try to do is eat/drink items from our Snack Wish List, but not too many we have a 6:30 ADR at Biergarten. Another first! We hopefully have already seen Illuminations so we can finish things we really want to do and head out as we wish.
A quick side bar is we are now discussing leaving a day early on Friday afternoon around 2:00 PM. DW has a half day off and DH thinks he might be able to slip off a few hours early as well. If so, we could leave at about 2:00 PM and head down for 6 hours or so. We are looking at staying a Springhill Suites on the north side of Jacksonville. That way we could get up on Saturday with less than 3 hours to go. We could almost arrive in the world about the times the parks are opening. We are leaning that way. Your thoughts????
Thanks again for reading along. Have a great Monday!

Only 13 more days!!!! Did we decide to go down a day early?
Last week, we began discussing if we should leave a day early and spend the night in Jacksonville to get into the bubble earlier the next day. After a bit of encouraging from the boards and after discussing it with DDad, we decided to go for it!!!!
So heres the new plan. DW & DH will get off of work mid-day. We will have our van ready to roll with everything packed except DDads items. We will all be home by 1:00 PM, change, get some last minute packing done and then take off for Jacksonville no later than 2:00 PM. We hope to get to Jacksonville no later than 9:30-10:00 PM. Please send us some that we all get a good nights rest. We plan to get up early the next day , get some breakfast at the hotel and take off by 6:30 AM. We hope to arrive at AK Kidani Villas by 9:30 AM. Maybe we will get lucky and get into our rooms but if not, were heading to the parks.
Right now our choice is still Epcot (if you have read our other updates) but now we are questioning our plan. We keep looking at the touring plan and thinking should we rearrange our plans. The problem is we have already made our ADRs .
So we need your !!! For those of you that have gone during the peak seasons, should we use a guide like Touring Plans or just stick with our plan and go with the flow?
for your help!
We just discussed today that we only have one more weekend left before we leave!!! Next weekend we have a b-day party and a family holiday get together....so we need to get a lot done this weekend. We have been cleaning, washing clothes, and we hope to get most of our packing done. We have just made a list for all our supplies and will be heading to Wally World (Wal-Mart) later today. We also hope to get the Van all cleaned out...not that it will stay clean for two weeks . Only 13 days!!!
Up Next ..December 22-Our last full day in the world Places everyone, Hollywood Studios Scene 1 Take 1 (if we dont change our plans) J

Congrats on leaving earlier and I have to say that traveling during a time when many of the parks are VERY busy . . . numbers in the 8,9,10 range on Touring Plans . . . I would definitely go with their park suggestions and follow some kind of TP, especially with smaller kids!
I'll be at the World some of the same date as you guys! I'll keep my eyes open for you! Wave if you see someone wearing a Passporter Button! (I'm the 20th-23rd)
I just love AKV, its our home resort. I know you guys will just love it. It sounds like you have some great ADRs planned!
You asked about snacks and FABs? I will second the carrot cake cookie--its awesome--get one and a hot chocolate before wandering around the Osbourne Lights! I also have to vote for the Butterfinger Cupcake at Starring Rolls. At Epcot I'm a sucker for Italian Margaritas. AK is great for Yak Attacks and at the MK I always stop for a treat at Main St Bakery or the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor.
