We're going to WDW! Adventures of a Mom & Toddler the TR! 9/24-9/30/2010 - Page 6 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Thank you so much everyone very much for the pixies. Since I'm feeling a tad bit anxious about Friday, and probably won't be able to get to Skyler's Speech Therapist to bring her and her Receptionist who's a sweetheart their Holiday Gifts, I have been a busy lady baking cookies for them tonight. I don't know what it is about baking, but I find it therapeutic. Skyler and I also have been trying to get out of the house some and today we just walked around a few malls (and not buying a single thing) right across the street from eachother, just because I was in the mood to walk somewhere indoors. I will keep everyone posted on Friday after we get results. I just hope I don't cry myself to sleep again this week worried what may be wrong with him(I think just from feeling anxious and nervous). Thank you again everyone. Oh and just invade anyone hasn't seen it yet, there is a Christmas Story Book full of Disney/Pixar
Christmas Stories in it. I was so tempted to buy it for Skyler today but waiting a little bit on it.

Sorry everone, no official update to my TR yet, but I needed to share my Excitement. I just found out DSil Celeste(Erick's little Sister) is having a baby Girl! I can't tell you how excited I am for them, but this will be Erick's and my 1st Niece. We already have 2 Newphew(my sister's boys), so now it will be nice to have another little girl in the family(I so can't wait to buy her adorable dresses and hair bows). Madison Nicole will be gracing us with her presence close to Valentine's Day. Sorry I can't bounce around the house full of excitement right now, but I had to share it with you all.

Congrats on the great news. I just read through your report and I want to say that I understand how hard it is to deal with insurance companies and their basically deadlines. I had to switch midway a steroid infusion treatment because of coverage issues. I hope that everything works out for you, and you seem like a wonderful mom so I am sure you will be able to get through this and everything will be fine. Just keep calling and staying on people to keep up their end of the insurance, I had to call my doctor every day to make sure I got the right notes and things forwarded to the insurance. Good luck to you!

Thank you all so much forth congrats on our good news. Today's appointment did confirm Skyler has Autism. I have meek one very testy eyed Mommy, but what can I say I'm emotional. Westill need to take Skyler for a lot of blood work to be done (I do need Erick's strength to help hold down our baby boy) and I have to call next week to schedule Skyler's MRI since there is only one Medical Center out here that does them sedated to see if they can rule out Chiari Malformation. Between being up Super Early to drive an hour and a half (more sitting in gridlock morning traffic) to get him to his Appointment and Speech Therapy, it's already been a very exhausting day.
Thank goodness we have a wonderful Speech Therapist who wants to be involved, since we do need to look into schools for Skyler (I already have set ip an Evaluation for him the beginning of December withThe Public School System). I also want Erick's Parents helping us make sure we have Skyler on the right IEP since I haven't the slightest clue on those, but have had one myself.
I truly appreciate allege hugs, pixies, and you all thinking of us. It hasn't been an easy day to get through. I now need to get Erick & I more well Educated on Autism so we can help Skyler to beyond the extent he deserves. I think Santa needs to bring this Mom a great Autism Book for Christmas this year and one that may give me a good laugh or two (I think Erick is google to be getting hinted to Jenny McCarthy's Book titled "Louder Than Words" sinceI know I loved her book "Belly Laughs" when I was pregnant with Skyler and couldn't put it down. I have a good feeling "Louder Than Words" (her own experience with her son who has Autism) just may be another one of those books that I will have a hard time putting down too.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. We have alot of house cleaning to get done before Monday Night (not exactly my idea of fun but I know it needs to get done). BTW, I will admit I'm not grieving over the news about Skyler today, it's just hit me hard (although we knew there was a strong chance he had it). Oh and Thanksgiving shall be interesting too if our Oven doesn't get fixed soon. We think the heating element went on it one night while I was cooking.
