As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I got it Looks like an bonus DCL trip for us - can't wait to book it!
Since I'm saving my pennies for my Med cruise, can't do the May sailing, but otherwise I'd jump on it. That is a nice offer for us.
My office is closed today (everything here is closed becuase of the flooding from the noreaster). Was gonna sleep in ... got woken up by a phone call from Fedex. My replacement package from HP should be here by 4pm today I can't wait !!!
As long as it arrives, it will restore my faith in HP (although I know they were in some part limited by the warehouse distributor, their lack of concern was disheartening). I was browsing last night and saw the Zatairan's party for Fat Tuesday. THAT sounds like a lot of fun, so I'll apply for that one as soon as it's available.
Have fun, everyone, and I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures. I'll try to post mine Sun or Mon.

Yes, I saw it and made the mistake of showing my wife. Boy is she upset about it. She wants me to contact them and complain about them limiting it to one specific cruise that we can't go on because it is during the school year. I'll admit that I think they could have given us more flexibility on the dates, but I don't see what good will come from raising a big stink about it. Guess we'll just have to pretend we never saw it.
I'd rather not postpone it so I'll go ahead and have fun with the few that can make it.
I was sorting through the fun frames trying to get those organized - and realized I have only sea animals. None of the other pieces to cut and make the other things shown in the photo. I guess it's a good thing I don't expect many kids. That's a disappointment. First missing the tokens and then this. Oh well - it's still a great package of stuff!
My package is HERE! Thanks so much y'all for all of your support. Everything looks great so far, but I haven't yet ventured into the details of the frame project.
Stacey, I think a nice small gathering is fun in its own way. At least it is less stressful, and you get to spend more time with each guest. As a rule, I only have 2-4 people over at a time, just for those reasons.
Ok, gotta get offline now and finish decorating and baking - See Ya Real Soon!

Alas, not everything HP stated on their website was included in my package, BUT, the items that were missing were more than covered by the pack that Sandy_N sent. So, one final shoutout to her - my party will be complete. I am way excited now!
When I read that the frame project included 15 frames, I'd pictured putting them in giftbags. This isn't really possible the way it is presented. I dont' have children, so will you parents please advise me -- should I have the kids do this at the party, or cut up the sticker sheet and place these in the kids' giftbags with the puzzles, etc. ??? I have a couple of activities planned for them but have no idea what their attention span will be. Or, should I save the frames out and pull them out if they need more stuff to do, and if I dont' use them, put them in the bags right before I hand them out?

Stacey, my frame project came with just sea animals too. I guess the trick here is to not show the other pictures from the front of the package. maybe?

My pic frames just had sea animals as well... but it was no biggie as I cut up the stickers and divided everything as equally as I could into individual andwich bags for the kids..... I am all decorated and finished my appetizers....Just have to mix up my drinks when the guests arrive.,.... Will post my pics tonight or Sunday.... Thank you again Sandy, and I hope you all have a good turnout despite this Nor'easter.....,

Guess we should have had a "House Party Protection Plan" for inclement weather. I am hoping people are still up for a party!
Mine was a lot of fun for my guests, especially the kids, they all had a blast. I'm a bit worn out! I did a full 3-course sit-down meal and we served indiviually (not family style) for 22 people. I made a separate meal for the kids. I've never cooked in that manner before and I felt like I was running around like crazy . Until yesterday, for any type of gathering I'd only done buffet-style.
After dinner I was able to enjoy the party much more. The only problem is I enjoyed it so much, I forgot to take many pics - oops.
My Menu:
mickey-shaped rice krispie treats
mickey-shaped chocolate chip cookies
cheeseball served on my mickey-shaped platter
dinner:
appetizer - to represent Triton's - Citrus Salmon Puffs
entree - to represent Parrot Cay - Island Chicken with Spicy Potatoes
dessert - to represent Animator's Palate - began with a "black and white" palate (one white scoop of ice cream with 2 black oreo cookies, to make mickeymouse), and then my guests brought their dessert to color with sprinkles & choc sauce
I made mini-pizzas for the kids with 3 pepperoni each to make a mickey. I learned that most kids do not like pepperoni as they took it off. I thought all kids loved pepperoni pizza oh well
Looking forward to hearing how ya'll partied ...

Oh and I had 2 punch bowls of Pirate Punch, one for "Salty Old Pirates" and one for "Pint-Sized Pirates". While I was pouring all the stuff in the bowls I was thinking - this is a crazy amount of punch and they'll never drink all of this.
ALL of it was gone less than 1/2 way thru the party

Glad your party was a hit Cindy! Sounds like you made a lot of great food choices!
Our Party was at Port Canaveral, we spent the afternoon on the beach and went swimming at Cocoa Beach, then we went up on the Jetty for the Magic Sailing out to sea. We had signs Mickey Hands, balloons etc the Magic sailed by and blew its horn it was fantastic!
Then it was off to dinner at Rusty's where I gave everyone a goody bag and we had a great time talking about Cruising and disney and the kids really enjoyed all the goodies I gave them (I put extra non Disney HP items in there as well) and then even as tired as the kids were they perked right up when we went outside the restaurant and they received a Sailor Mickey (from Macy's) as their Bon Voyage Gift for their trip home.
I Was glad I kept my party small as I was able to pull more off individualized. But now I'm suffering the Post DCL HP and the "iwannagoonacruiserightnow" blues.
