Eight Days a Week - The Bakelin Invasion **Updated 7/8 - COMPLETE** - Page 6 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Did I mention the first of many changes that bothered the snot of me in my last update? I can't remember, so here it is again if I already did. Stacy's Top Seven Must Sees suddenly became WDW Must Do's..... what the crap?!?! Matt said it had literally changed overnight the day before. It really bothered me. Like we're talking the whole week it bothered me..... I'm so against change, can you tell?
Our room, again I can't remember if I said this or not, was 963, across from the Giant Woody. Which we made LOTS of jokes about since...you know.....I'm married to an Andy... and that was Andy's Woody..... The word big was thrown in there, too I don't have a picture of the building and Woody, and Andy at this point (that sentence had to be reworded very carefully ), but Brandi does. She also has a picture of Andy and his happy belt... he had to wear mine b/c the new shorts I bought him were a little too big, and my belt was a little too short so he couldn't stick the extra in a loop...it just stuck out So the gutter brains that are the Bakelins found it hilarious.
Our chauffeur, Brandi, drove us all to Epcot where we first traded in our exchange cards for our APs!!!
It was good to be back in the club!
But Andy was a little peeved that HE got MINNIE, and I got Pluto. I thought it was hilarious!
We stopped to have some PP pictures made and of course made them take some with all our cameras...
Love it
The front entrance for the F&GF
We immediately did our old favorite, SSE. There was barely a line, but it didn't matter since we totally used Pom and were able to go in the wheelchair entrance.
I think it was Brandi that decided the gals would ride together and the boys could entertain each other. The lady that was working that area totally went anal when we got up there and I guess thought it was the first time Pom had gotten up and walked b/c she was freaking me out with her nervousness. We just had to laugh about it.
Self shot on SSE - a new must for each ride
And one of the doofus behind me....
Brandi has a HILARIOUS one of Pom and Andy. I swear, they were separated at birth.
We each took a turn when it came time to answer the questions and I think Brandi purposely chose the opposite of what she knew I'd choose when it was her turn
But we were super dooper excited to be in our future....
And I hope you can see the doofus's faces...
After SSE we (yes we, not just Pom this time) had to take a break at the urination station. When I came out Andy decided to do some Dancing with Ostriches....
Don't you like his "wings"?
We stopped off at the pin station so I could pick up the AP F&GF pin. They also had the Stitch Easter pin which made me verrry happy so I grabbed it as well.
Pom offered to treat everyone to drinks at Club Cool, so we headed there next. Everybody got a little taste of their personal favorites...
At this point I realized that I never let Matt know what we were doing and it was about that time that I got a message from him asking where we were... ops: So we headed on into the UK...
A pic along the way..
Brandi and Pom went over and grabbed our favorite spot for the show while we headed into the Rose and Crown to get a round of beverages. Harps for us, Bass for Brandi. We met Matt and Bethany inside and they introduced us to the bartender that they know. She was extremely nice and very quick to serve us. We all grabbed our drinks and headed out to catch the show.
Everyone just basically hung out, chatted, drank, and enjoyed each other's company. Lots of silly pictures were taken of course....
Notice Andy's hands......why must he be so creepy?
Our sexy look...
And my personal fav....
Chatting it up....
I have to say it was great to finally meet Matt and Bethany. They are awesomely nice folks and little Audrey is as cute as can be!!! We'll have to do it again sometime!
We stuck around through the 7:00 show and then head out to grab something to eat. Our plan was to eat at as many countries this trip as possible and we figured....we've never even bothered to eat in America, so let's start there. Plus we'd heard great things from Pom about the BBQ sandwich.
Check out the craziness that is Brandi in that picture!
We enjoyed our meal outside in the America pavilion. Pom was right, the BBQ was verrry good, but there was A LOT of it. I ended up just eating the bbq with a fork, and not the bun. Definitely on my list of "will eat again"
After we ate we headed back out.....Pom had to get a funnel cake so we stopped off there....
I had to have some Kaki Gori so we hit that up next. Then we grabbed the Bakers' spot by the tree in Japan to watch Illuminations. And it was also during this time that change #2 hit me like a brick. The voice that comes on before Illuminations to tell folks how much longer until the show.....yeah.....it's a DUDE now! It's so not the same. I was so sad....first Must Do's, now a dude's voice for Illuminations.....ai yi yi, what next??? I mean I was JUST here like 4 months ago.....how much can change??
Anyway....Illuminations
Of course I took a billion pics but we've seen them all before......so this is the only one I'm posting.
After the show we got another change.....instead of going into the song that was from the Tapestry they play that dang Celebrate song that I think I heard fifty billion times this trip So panic attack number 3 set in. BUT, thank goodness after that song was over, they went into the normal routine. Seriously. Were they trying to give me a heart attack?
Brandi and Pom took us back to the All Stars which was very nice of them to do Brandi has some terrible aversion to those busses to the All Stars. When we got back to the room I found a surprise...
Andy had this waiting for me as a gift for my graduate graduation......I received notification while I was on the trip that I was cleared for graduation
Inside was a nice leather binder thing with Disney on the front, and a legal pad with Disney on the top of it, and very nice Disney pen to go with it. I loved it!! And Mickey has been on the bed every night
We set our wake up call and hit the bed. We had an early morning planned for the AK.

Well, I reckon I'll put my two cents in here every once in a while. Really, it'll just be through my pictures! My TR would just be redundant and full of how much we love the Loflins and hanging out with them, laughing until it hurts! So, here you go....
Here's Andy's Big Woody
Andy with his Happy Belt and Big Woody
Sharing some love while waiting for SSE
The best part of my self-portrait? Andy's face.
Most definitely separated at birth....
Me and Melissa
Thing 1 and Thing 2
A cute one of Bethany and little Audrey!
And this one is just plain funny because I wonder how many Bakelins it takes to work an iPhone!

I actually just noticed today when I uploaded the pics that Brandi and I had on reddish color shirts and Pom and Andy had on white Sheesh.....scary
And I feel like I should apologize for that last update b/c it was rather rushed. It's hard to put in the details of nights like that, where we're just hanging out. I discovered this trip that we've reached a point of we just like "being" there. We're not so much concerned about doing everything as we are just being there, with friends That totally may start boring folks....but I hope not They'll still be plenty of details to come though
WHAT?? No more Stacy? I'm freaking out just thinking about it. That was my favorite show to watch on TV while at the World. What am I going to do now?
