A Marriage proposal with a little help from Cinderella -Updated with Photopass pictures on 4/19 - Page 6 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Woke up bright and early Saturday morning for EMH at the studios. Thought about taking a dip in the pool this morning but it was a bit chilly even for us. We wanted to open the park anyway so I went up to the food court and came back with breakfast for myself and my real life princess. We were in the 80's section of POP so it was just a bit of a walk to the food court but a very nice, pleasant one. Breakfast was over so off we went and arrived at the studios at opening. Headed straight for Rock n roller Coaster. This is Liz's favorite ride. She lost the pin we were given the night before. After the ride we purchased some drumsticks in the store for souveniers for the kids. (We will end up using them on Rock band anyway!), Then it was Tower of Terror. One more ride on Rock n Roller coaster and it was time for the general public to enter. Headed straight for Voyage of the Little mermaid. Had to see this one because Ariel is my daughter's favorite princess. I always get a bit teary at this show too. Sniff! After one more ride on ToT we were ready to head for Epcot. Liz got a new button at Customer service to replace the one she lost and to her delight it was even better than the one she lost because the young woman who wrote our names on it did it in very good Calligraphy!
Then it was time to hop on the boat to Epcot. Now the boat is not the quickest way to Epcot from here but it is certainly a nice ride. You get to see the Swan and Dolphin up close. Epcot was fantastic as always. Headed to Future world first where Liz conquered her fears and actually rode Mission Space - Orange Team! I was so proud of her. It was always green team (mild version) for her until now! When we launched she screamed though and I was not quite sure what the other people in the capsule with us were thinking. Then it was off to get Fpasses for soarin, and a ride on the land, then on to go around the world. Had lunch at the Mexican quick service restaurant. Very good. Had a Dos Equis as well. Was a little disappointed though: Doesn't Dos mean 2 in Spanish? And yet they only gave me one beer? What gives??? Then a liesurely stroll around the lagoon was in order. We stopped and saw shows we never had with kids in tow. Saw the China show, the American Adventure with a stirring live performance by the Liberty Singers in the Rotunda beforehand. Brought us both to tears. And for those of you who read our TR from last August, Liz revisited a certain infamous landmark::
Hope she forgives me for that one! By the time we finished seeing the world it was getting late so we used our Fpasses for Soarin and headed out.
Kind of a low key day after yesterday and last night but we covered a lot of ground. Then it was back to the resort for a snack of Tye Dye Cheesecake and early to bed because tomorrow was MK day, and what a wonderful day it was going to be! A meet with Tink, and my main squeeze, Cinderella, which was made extra special for me by Liz.
Woke up bright and early this morning and ventured out of the hotel room to get breakfast for myself and Liz. Another beautiful, if chilly, morning. But this morning I was going for a swim and I was not to be denied! It was great! A few laps and I felt like a new man! All the muscles that were tight from all the walking at Epcot yesterday were happy again! Also met a man and his son in the pool that were from Michigan too. Now that I think of it, we saw a lot of Michigan natives on this trip. Wonder why? Anyway we caught the bus and were at MK in plenty of time for the opening ceremony. Headed straight for Space Mountain since it will be closed when we plan to go back in August. Then we doubled back to meet Ariel. Love that Little Mermaid. She explained to me what a Thingamabob was. How embarassing!!
After Ariel we headed over to Toontown to meet Tink - whom Liz obsesses about almost as I do with my beloved Cinderella!- but on the way we happened to be at the right place at the right time and caught Snow White. Time for a few pictures and had to have her sign my headband.
Next we arrived at Pixie Hollow and the wait to meet Tink was only about 20 minutes. Cool! We went in and were 'Shrunk down' Not a bad effect. Then we were in! Met Iridessa first:
She asked if we were going to meet the Princesses, and if we did to do her a favor. Tag them and say "No tag backs! because when the Fairies play tag with them they are so small the Princesse can't even feel us". Hmmmm! I need to remember this! Liz was already rolling our eyes over our next encounter with Cinderella!! When we were meeting with her, Tink was sneaking over to try and grab Liz's sweatshirt as she had laid it on the floor. Iridessa said "No, tink it's not yours!" Tink said but it's green and I want to make a blanket out of it!" I was so grateful Tink played it up like this. Liz loves Tinkerbell and to have her play it up like that was fantastic! Liz thought I put her up to that too.:
Had to have her sign me headband, right by Cinderella!:
Liz was impressed I let her sign it so close. After Tink we met with Fawn. This was so much fun. Just love the Fairies!
Next we visited the Princesses and I forgot to tag Cinderella! Darn! I missed my big chance! Darn! Will I get the chance to do it again before we go?? We'll have to wait and see . .. ..
Now we headed for the Pooh, ride then on to Philharmagic, and Haunted Mansion. Thne on to Pirates of the Caribbean and then Tom Sawyers Island. By this time it was getting close to lunch so we got a Dole Whip and headed for Cinderellas fountain by the castle, which was my Plan B for the proposal in case we couldn't get in to 1900 Park Faire. Then time for a photo op:
Then did some souvenier shopping (something I DON'T excel at) and it was back to the resort for lunch, and a swim as we were going to back at MK for extra magic hours that night.
Still to come: A special surprise at Wishes fireworks, and ANOTHER enconter with some Princesses! Did I get to see Cinderella again? Did I remember to play Tag with her???? The finale of my trip report is coming soon!
Brent

I KNEW it! You did meet on these boards! Now if I wasn't already married, I'd be out lurking for me some man that loves him some Disney! A match made in heaven! Looks like Jennifer and Dave need to create yet another strand for singles to mingle!
Love the photos!

Yes, yes, yes.....bright and early on Saturday. I am so not the morning person that Brent is! But it certainly makes it easier to get up that early when you have your own Prince Charming to wake up to! A Prince who goes and gets your breakfast while you stay in the room and play on passporter! It really doesn't get any better than this, guys!!
Oh yes, Rock N Roller Coaster! Rock On Baby! We got a really cool pic of Mr Rock N Roll himself playing air guitar in front of the ride icon but it is on our photopass which we don't have yet. I'll post it when I can tho. SOooooo Love that ride. It did gobble up my pin tho, I was sooooo sad. Brent offered me his...what a guy, I tell you!!!! A CM overheard us and told us where to go to get a new one. Problem fixed!
Oh Oh Oh.....The little Mermaid show, remember that darling little girl we sat by???? She was so excited! When she say Ariel she grabbed my hand and said "there she is!!!! There she is!!!!!" Beautiful little girl.
Mission Space was awesome!! Brent has been trying to get me on this for the past few years.....I don't do spinning well at all! It was great though, it is sooooo realistic. Brent was so supporive! When we got in he helped me buckle up, something I seem to not get the grasp of "left to right!" LOL. And after I was tucked in safely he handed me a, ummmmm, ahhhhh, "just in case" bag. LOL
The phone booth....not going there! Self expalatory, I suppose. LOL Brent....you are in sooo much trouble!
The singers at the American Adventure were wonderful. I have never heard such amazingly strong voices.
I was amazed the next day that Ariel had to set Brent straight about what a thingamabob was! She is a very knowledgable mermaid!
Tink tink tink....ahhhhh glorious Tink! She is soooo perky! I just love her! She was sooo playful and sooo cute! She spent alot time with us and even posed for a "hhmmmpphh" (nose up) picture with us. Also on photopass. She really was impressive!
I can't wait til you read about the fireworks...and wishes. Another super awesome time! More tissues!
I was soooo spoiled and pampered on this trip! I do have to tell you all Brent is a one and only. He is soooo amazing! I never really believed there were people out there like him.
