Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Here we go-3rd Day!!

Yep-it is time for the update on the 3rd day (9-16-08). This was actually Bossy's birthday !!! We have plans to do Animal Kingdom and then our fabulous dinner at Victoria and Albert's!! We have never done that before and are so looking forward to it!!
We had the wake up call set for 7 am again, it was Stitch the whole time we were there and I never understood him , but he still woke us up . Everyone got up with relatively no problems to shower and get ready to go.
We were walking up to the entrance to Animal Kingdom by 8:50 am, we wanted to do the safari 1st, then the rest of the day would be playing it by ear, Bossy and I would be leaving about 3 pm to get ready for our dinner (it was for 6:15 pm) and the kids knew the park closed at 5, so they would plan accordingly.
We got on the safari with hardly any waiting, we saw the opening ceremonies and they were cute. We got some pics of the animals but not a lot were out yet, or at least they weren't showing their faces for the cameras yet . Here are some that I was able to get..... and and and (they said those were ostrich eggs!!)
After the safari, we got in line to have some pics made with Pooh and Friends!! Eeyore has always been my favorite, so we just had to stop !! and here is one of Zach with Piglet . After we got out of there (there was also Pooh and Tigger too), it was time to eat!! Bossy and I wanted to eat kind of early so we would have plenty of room for our 6 (or 7) course meal later!! We chose the Flame Tree Bar B Q place since it was close and I had heard it was good. It was only about 1115 am so there was no line yet, we ordered with no problems. Zach and I ordered the pulled pork with coke and frozen lemonade for dessert the food was very very good and the bar b q sauce was AWESOME!! Bossy got the fruit plate with water and frozen lemonade for dessert (which Zach ate) , the fruit was really good and fresh!! here is a pic of something they give u on the tray to remind u to "not feed the animals" even though I don't think people pay attention to it .
After we ate, we met up with the girl's and Dinosaur-we all LOVE that ride and we got the BEST picture they made of us all screaming (except Zach)!! I wish they would let u download that one to your photo pass card like they do Test Track!! It is a priceless picture!! We then went to ride Mt Everest!! OMG is all I can say!! I was scared to death to ride this thing!! We had gotten fast passes for it, so when it was time-we just went thru the line with no problems and no time for me to change my mind !! I did ok I guess-that is until it went BACKWARDS!!!!! Did I say OMG yet!?!?!?!?! I told my kids I was NEVER riding on that thing again and they just laughed at me .
They wanted to ride the Rapids now-I am not a big fan of getting wet and I have been SOAKED on that ride before-so I just let them ride without me!! Here are some pics while we were waiting in line . I did get some good pics of them though, here they are front view and back view !!
We then went to It's Tough To Be A Bug-that is still the cutest little thing !! Then after that-it was time for Bossy and myself to leave. Sarah decided to leave with us as well. I think she just wanted to see us all dressed up for our dinner . As we were walking out, we saw Pocohantas (spelling) and had Sarah's pic made with her .
We also were lucky enough to see DeVine while we were here-she is so amazing!! Here are 2 pics we were able to get of her. I did ask her handler if Zach could get one with her before I took it, he said that was fine as long as he was careful, so he just stood there and she came up to him and a close up I got of her face-she is beautiful !!
Here is a pic of Bossy in her "birthday hat" and one of Zach with the rock n roll potato head he made and even one of me trying on a Pirates thingy I look like I am in pain don't I ?
Here are a few of the photo pass pics that were taken. This is Alex , I know I am biased but isn't she beautiful!!! Sarah, Alex and Simba . All of us in front of Everest with Sarah and I being "scary" . Here are the kids , Zach (posing) . And one of me and Zach . Here is a "scary" one of Bossy , and last but not least-Turk and myself .
It (as I said) was time for us to leave. I will leave u here to take in all the pics. I will be back for details and yes pics of our birthday dinner at V and A's!! It was WONDERFUL!!!! Bye for now. Have a great evening.

Great photos. What a treat to catch DeVine and be able to get that close. In all of our trips to WDW, we have not seen her. Your kids are really having a lot of fun. It was great that you survived Soarin' with a protein spill sorry it just waited till the evening. Looking forward to your report on V&A. MORE MORE

Hi everyone, it is time for another update , this one will be about our dinner at Victoria and Albert's on 9-16-08-hope u all enjoy.
It was Bossy's birthday and this was the one thing she really wanted to do since we were gonna be at The World anyway!! Neither of us had ever done this before and were really looking forward to it.
We left Animal Kingdom about 3 to get back to Pop to get showered and all dressed up to go. We had two rooms so it worked out that we didn't have to wait on one another to take a shower . My dd Sarah came back with us, I think she just wanted to see what we looked like all dressed up , Alex and Zach stayed at AK then went to DHS for a bit but were back at Pop when we got back from dinner.
Here are some pics of us at Pop after we got all dressed up....
and and Sarah of course was taking these pics, so I guess it was a good thing she came with us huh ?
We drove there in the rental car, probably could have taken the Disney transportation, but decided this was best. Had no problems getting there and there was free valet parking-so we took advantage of that (of course we tipped though ). Here is a pic that one of the cm's took for us at the hotel
. It was BEAUTIFUL!!! I had been there before years ago for a character breakfast with Mary Poppins-but I guess I had forgotten just how beautiful that resort really is!! We walked in and just looked around some-Bossy had never seen the resort. We were a little early, so we took our time, I took some pics (of course ) and then we went on up to find the restaurant.
We were greeted quite warmly and instantly felt at ease. They said we were a little early, (which we knew) and advised us where the ladies room was if we wanted or needed it, we did go and freshen up, comb the hair, re-do the lipstick , then when we came back-they said our table was ready-so excited right now!!
The showed us to the table, we walked by the harpist-which was wonderful all night long by the way. We also walked by a couple that were celebrating their wedding (they were still all dressed up in their wedding attire-it was cute, they were so in love!). The table was beautifully set, we were in a room with 3 other tables, two of them had people enjoying their dinners.
We were gonna be served by Jack and Sherry for the evening. They took care of all the tables in the room and not once did anyone feel neglected, hurried or anything!! They were wonderful!! Come to find out they were married too . She had actually worked at the Coral Reef restaurant for years before she came over to V and A's. They were perfect together, very friendly and knowledgeable!! She said she had worked for Disney for 26 years so far .
They brought us our water, cleared some of the things off the table, then gave us our personalized menus. They had "happy birthday" on Bossy's-she didn't know they would do that (I did) so she was surprised . They explained all dishes in detail, told us how we would order from each section and let us look it over for a few minutes. The menu was gorgeous, it is something that I will treasure and keep in my scrapbook forever!!
Jack came back to take our order for everything and of course didn't have to write anything down-he remembered it all . This is something that they brought out to both of us before the meal-neither of us could remember the name-
sorry-but here is the pic..., it was wonderful!! This is what I had...Tamarind-Ancho Marinated Gulf Shrimp with Heirloom Tomato Vinaigrette, Poached South Carolina Quail with Black Mission Figs and Fuji Apples, Alaskan King Salmon with Pickled Onions and Demi-Tasse Cup of Smoked Salmon, Kurbuta Pork Tenderloin and Belly with Artichokes and Florida Corn, Colston Bassett Stilton, Comte St Antoine and Thistle Hill Tarentaise, and Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee for dessert.
I know , a mouthful huh? This is what Bossy had... Jumbo Lump and Dungeness Crab with California Asparagus Salad, Long Island Duck with Roasted Beets and Sheery Bacon Vinaigrette, Florida Black Grouper Amandine with Bean Ragout and Marcona Almonds, Marcho Farms Lamb with Headgehogs and English Peas, Colston Bassett Stilton, Comte St Antoine and Thistle Hill Tarentaise, and Caramelized Banana Gateau for dessert.
We both stayed with water for the evening and then tried one of the variety of hot teas at the conclusion of the meal since we don't drink coffee. I had ordered Bossy a birthday cake before we left for the trip and they brought that out at the end of the meal before they brought the roses to us both.

Here are the pics of what we had.... and and and and and and and and and . This is what they brought out with the roses... and then they brought out Bossy's cake-even sang to her too (in hush tones )
Everything was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!! Beyond words!!! The service couldn't have been better, the food was to die for!! We had the best time, I have never been treated so well in my life and probably won't be again . By the time the cake came out we were actually full!! Even though the meal was PERFECTLY spaced out so that we could enjoy each and every morsel and the portions were smaller than anything else we had or would eat everywhere else-we were full . They kindly and carefully boxed up the cake for us to take back to the resort.
I was able to get a pic of us with Jack and Sherry, here it is...
and here is one of me and Bossy together underneath the pic of V and A....
We got there about 6 for our 6:15 seating, we walked out about 9:30-9:45 . Like I said, we were never rushed and never felt neglected by Jack and Sherry even though they had the other tables. All of us were WELL taken care of. It was an experience that I will never forget, and when I go back to Disney-I would LOVE to bring my DH to this place, he would love it as well. The staff, the harpist-everyone was just wonderful.
I was even impressed with the ladies room , it was very nice in there and you even felt pampered when you were in there as well!! They would even escort you part of the way and be waiting at your table when you returned with a fresh, clean napkin so they could pull the chair out for you-IT WAS WONDERFUL (did I say that already )?!
It was $125 for the meal plus of course tip. Bossy and I tipped almost 30%, it was THAT GOOD!! Pricey, yes-but worth every single penny and then some!!
Thank you for letting me share this with you all. I hope that one day you all can do this experience as well. We walked out and just took it all in . We took our time again just walking around, taking a few more pics in the process. We walked out and gave the valet our ticket, they went and brought the van to us and wished us well-again wonderful treatment. We left, and we couldn't stop talking about the dinner and how great it was. We got back to the resort with no problems and the kids were all back in their rooms-so of course we had to go over every single detail with them , which we didn't mind doing . We showed them the menus, the roses, the birthday cake. We then got changed out of our clothes, showered and were in bed by 11:30-12 midnight. It was a long but wonderful day!!
We were headed to DHS the next day with an adr for 50's Prime Time, we wanted to get up about the same time 7-8 am, so we set the wake up call accordingly. I don't think any of us (especially me and Bossy) had trouble getting and staying asleep that night .
This is where I will leave you for now. Have a great day-ttfn . Oh yeah-gotta do this.....

The weather today was: sunny and beautiful.
The best thing today was: Victoria and Albert's (duh).
The worst thing today was: me riding Mt Everest (it was scary)!!
The funniest thing today was: me screaming my head off on Mt Everest!!
Today we tried: Dinosaur and the result was: we screamed :-).
The most magical moment of today was: our experience at Victoria and Albert's and for the kids: getting to see Fantasmic.
