As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

I'm pooh sized too and I wear what I'm most comfortable in that includes shorts. My usual outfits are shorts or capri pants with a t-shirt, trainers and floppy hat. I'm there to have fun not to win the glamour stakes.

Ok, since we're on the subject of pooh size, I'm worried that I'm not going to fit on most of the rides. Are my worries true? I'm trying to lose another 15lbs before we leave, just in case, but I'm afraid it still won't be enough. I'm 5'2 & pooh sized, so I carry mine differently than women who are tall & pooh sized. Anyone else like me and fit fine on the rides?
I haven't come across a WDW ride that I haven't fit on. My DH is also big - think Genie Sized and we fit TOGETHER on rides. You won't have any major issues with fitting or embarrassment. Have fun, dress comfortably, and make the most of your MAGICAL vacation.

I posted someplace else that Poohs might want to avoid ASTRO ORBITER - I forgot about that one. I think I said something like the rocket fit me like a pair of pants. It wasn't pleasant, but I did it for my son. DH wouldn't have made it in there at all. That is truly the only thing I can think of and I've been on just about everything. All the roller coaster type rides, and everything OLD and AO was the only one that will never be repeated.
Truly, WDW is the one place that I have never felt self-conscious about my size. The CMs are terrific and they handle everything with care. To reiterate the original topic here - Dress so you will be MOST comfortable and ride anything you wish to ride! It's a very freeing, Magical place for people of all sizes and disabilities, really.

Oh! I meant to tell you, when we went, my BIL is 6' 5" and is +300 lb. On boat - type rides, etc. the CMs can adjust the number of people and where you sit, more or less, so you don't overload the boat / system. Guest safety is what they are there for.
Okay, since "Pooh Size" is a relative term, I will bravely tell you all that I wear a Womans size 18/20. I'm all of 5'2" on a good day. I carry my weight around my middle. My favorite saying is "I'm in perfict shape! Round!!".
That being said, I have never had a real problem with "fitting" on a ride. Space Mountain put my knees in my belly, but other than that I can think of no time in which I felt uncomfortable or "too big" for a ride.

U have no worries wear what ever you find most comfy! I wore shorts my 1st visit and never thought twice about it! My next visit will be in December and I am planning on brining my burmuda's capris and then of corse my jeans! Have a wonderful vactaion and dont worry about a thing!
I like to wear capris and they worked fine when we were there in late June. I am very fair-skinned and cannot let the sun "have its way" with my milky-white skin! So I try to cover up as much as I can while still being cool. Try a pair in seersucker - a very cool fabric. Capris worked fine with a light t-shirt. Of course I use lots of SPF too. Wear light colors - no black! Try to stay away from denim - way too hot and too heavy. Stay with whites, light blues, pink, yellow, etc. I also stay away from those types of t-shirts with characters on them in plastic; it sticks to your chest and feels just awful! I have short hair, but if yours is long, wear it in a ponytail or bun. But if you wear shorts normally and are most comfortable in them, wear them!

Think of it this way, when are you EVER going to see these people again? NEVER! That being said, if someone takes the time out of THEIR vacation to notice you and what you're wearing, THEY are the ones that have the problem, NOT you.
Wear what you will be comfortable in so you don't have to be hot and miserable. This is your 1st trip to the World, the less to worry about the better.
Go and have a magical time with your family. When you see those pictures when you get back they will be beautiful no matter what you're wearing. How could they not be, you're with the ones you love most in the most magical place on earth.
im slightly pooh sized and get very self concious about how i look (even though i know no-one cares) i plan on gettin sum just below the knee...VERY LIGHT pants (i hope im not expectin too much with me traveling in Dec?)...i wore a cute sundress on my 1st trip, although i was kept very cool throughout the day i suffered majorly with chaffing on the insides of my legs

I think the key to feeling comfortable is think of the worst thing someone might say about you, then say, and I care because??? You will find that you don't care at all.
And to be blunt, every time I have ever been to Disney or any other amusement park, there is always some poor girl who has something on that you REALLy should not wear, ie a white guaze shirt that is see through, or white shorts with a green thong underneath!! If any of you were either of these real life women, so sorry, and I hope someone in your life had the courage to say--DO NOT WEAR WHITE TO AMUSEMENT PARKS!! As long as I don't have a wardrobe malfunction, I am a happy camper!!

and covered. . .sorry, I am offended when people of any size have parts of their body, which I shouldn't have to see, stickin' out all over the place! Think shorts too high, waists too low, or tops too short! I am Pooh sized and never have worried about shorts st WDW, but I am more comfortable with ones that are longer length. They also tend not to ride up as bad. I have discovered the following site: www.junonia.com
They have plus size women's wear, including athletic. I recently purchased a pair of shorts -- breathable, lightweight fabric, that are really two in one -- the loose short, with the biking/athletic short sewn in -- it isn't two shorts, really one and half (you'll see if you look for them) -- really comfortable, and will cut down on the friction piece.
I haven't used Body Glide, but do regualrly use Balmex (for babies and diapers) in that area and at the bra band line (the other place I carry my weight). It is good to have in case things have progressed and you have the rash. I have gotten it in the Disney resort stores in the past, before it became a part of my kit.
