Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Part 10~ Touring the world…

After the Princess Storybook Breakfast we decided to spend our day “touring the world” I was so excited for this day, I didn’t know how the kids would like it though, *when I went when I was little I didn’t like it*, so on our itinerary I put fun things to look for or activities to do at each place.

We headed back to Mexico. The first thing we did was El Rio del Tiempo. It was a cute ride, we really liked it.

Then we looked through the village plaza *so cute, I love the volcano* and found the “kidcot station” I read about the masks on other trip reports and thought that would be fun so we headed on over. The kids had a great time coloring their masks. Kory and I found the place to E-mail silly messages to friends and family and had fun doing that.

Next, we went back to Norway. We rode the Maelstrom ride, the kids loved this one, especially Mikaela, she was giggling the whole time.

We looked for the troll to rub its nose for luck, and found it *yea* Then it was off to the kidcot station. We enjoyed talking to the girl who ran the kidcot station *sorry I cant remember her name* She had a lot of questions for us about Colorado too.

Then we headed over to China, I loved the ponds and bonsai trees *its amazing how old some of them are*

We found the kidcot station and had our first run in with the school groups. I totally understand why they would come here but some of those kids were so rude and apparently didn’t understand lines??

We met Mushu as we were leaving. Dakota and Mikaela went to meet him, but Mariah wasn’t in a picture taking mood.

Next came Germany. Its really neat there, we saw Snow White and got her picture next to the seven dwarfs topiaries. We met the woman who makes the hand blown eggs *those eggs are amazing, and beautiful* she was very nice, and great at explaining all that goes into this art.
We also found the train.

The girls were hungry for a snack so we went into the bakery at Germany. Mariah picked a Mickey Mouse shaped brownie, we broke off little pieces and shared. This is the BEST brownie I have ever tasted, if you get a chance try it, its sooooo good!!

We headed over to Italy, after our snack break. We were on a mission to find King Neptune’s fountain to make a wish. We found the kidcot station and the kids sat down to color some more. Kory called me into a store to show me these amazing masquerade masks. They were incredible, and I knew I had to show Mariah because the masquerade ball is her favorite part in Phantom of the Opera.

After Italy we headed over to America. We found the kidcot station stop and the kids worked on their masks some more. The fife and drum corps came out and marched over to the front of the fountain. We went over to watch them *they were really good* The kids decided that they were hungry, so we had lunch at Liberty Inn. The food was pretty good, we had icees too, very refreshing and yummy in the heat!!

Next came Japan. The gardens and the goldfish ponds are beautiful. We enjoyed looking at the tin toys.

Morocco was next. I loved the buildings here, it was really amazing to see it all. Kory discovered the “Mickey glove” areas, where there would be a themed room from a movie, and found the Aladdin room. We found the kidcot station and got our next cut-out for the masks, the helper was not in the friendliest moods, but the kids didn’t seem to notice.

In between Morocco and France they had an area from Home Depot, were the kids could get aprons and plant tomato plants. Chip and Dale were also out to meet.

After planting our tomato plant we headed over to France. We found the “Mickey Glove” and they had a really pretty Beauty and the Beast room. Our dining room is Beauty and the Beast themed so we took pictures to get more ideas. As we were leaving we saw Belle and the Beast posing for pictures.

Next came the United Kingdom. There were really neat Winnie the Pooh character topiaries that we got pictures of.

Lastly we stopped at Canada. We loved the waterfall, they had the most gorgeous gardens. We saw Kenai and Koda passing by and got there picture. The kids got there last kidcot cut-out, and boy were we pooped out!! Dakota was starting to feel dizzy.

We decided to head back to Fort Wilderness to take a break, and maybe go for a swim. Kory was starting to come down with a cold, so he needed some rest.

Memories of our forth day…
The weather today was…hot and sunny *in the 90’s*
The best thing today was…rediscovering the World Showcase * I didn’t like it when I was a kid, but I love it now*
The worst thing today was…the school groups *so rude*
The funniest thing today was…the girls in awe at the princess breakfast
Today we tried…the Princess Storybook Breakfast and the result was it was great, yummy caramel rolls and fun to see the girls meet the princesses.
The most magical moment today was…seeing the World Showcase in a new way and loving it.

Next up...Back to the 50's

Re: The ~See What A Little Wishin Can Do~ trip report *updated 6/8*

Part 11~ Back to the 50’s

Today was our MGM day. It was early magic hours but we didn’t make it in time for them *I don’t think we ever made early magic hours* When we walked in we saw the Sorcerers hat and had to get our picture underneath it. I love Sorcerer Mickey, he is my favorite!!

We headed over toward Voyage of the Little Mermaid. I saw this show when I was a teenager and loved it, so I wanted to show the kids. They really liked it, I love the part where all the fish are swimming around in the black light.

Dakota and I had a date…time for Tower of Terror *insert evil laugh here* Kory took the girls to the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adv. I have done this ride before, but its Dakota’s first time. I wouldn’t tell him anything, it’s more fun when you don’t know what’s going to happen. We had fast passes, so it was super quick and we were in the library watching the show, Dakota is getting nervous. We get to our line and we are in the middle section of the elevator. Its time to get in our elevator and we have some fun crazy guys in our elevator and they are immediately screaming and it makes it even more fun. **spoiler, please don’t read if you don’t want to know** we start to go up, and Dakota is getting ready and holding on tight…then the doors shut and we go up again, the doors open and we start to move forward. Now he doesn’t know what to think, the doors open again and we see outside, pause and drop, I think we dropped 3 times and had 2 minnie drops, we are screaming and laughing and having the best time!! When we leave I get a picture of the picture.

Dakota and I head over to the HISTKMA and find Kory and the girls. Holy cow it is hot in there!! Its time for our ADR at 50’s Prime Time Café. We are so excited about this, I read the kids the description of it in Passporter, so they are all ready for some fun.

We have a short wait. I love the waiting area with the old style couches and the knickknacks, the kids sit down and watch tv. They call us back to be seated, and we only had a 5 minute wait, not bad at all!!

Our “mom” comes and lets us know all the rules…no whining, no tattling, no elbows on the table, and you must finish your food to get dessert. I order the potroast, Kory gets the meatloaf, Dakota gets a burger with fries, Mariah gets a hotdog with goldfish crackers, and Mikaela gets chicken strips with fries. The food is really yummy.

Kory and Dakota come up with a plan to have Dakota put his elbows on the table, but hide a crayon so when our “mom” comes he will show her the crayon and say “but I was coloring” our “mom” said it was ok to have your elbows on the table if you are coloring. So “mom” comes over and sees the elbows on the table and calls him on it, he shows her the crayon and she calls him a brat *ha ha*

Mariah doesn’t want to finish her goldfish crackers so she hides them in the bottom of the basket, and puts the paper on top of them. When “mom” comes over to grab our plates Kory pulls off the paper to show her and she tells him no tattling. She has everyone on our side of the restaurant tell him “shame, shame, shame” I got in the clean plate club and “mom” has everyone clap for me.

Dakota keeps putting his elbows on the table, and eventually gets caught. Our “mom” makes him stand up and sing “I’m a little teapot” to everyone. I love it!! I should punish them like this at home, at least it would be entertaining.

We look at the dessert menu on the viewmaster *so cool* and the girls get sundaes and Dakota and I get s’mores to share. It was sooooo good, if you like s’mores I would definitely recommend it, so yummy.

We had the best time here, it was our favorite of all of our picks. We would definitely go back on our next trip.

Next up…meeting Sorcerer Mickey & first time seeing Fantasmic
