10 Nights of Magic in The Orlando Trifecta-TR - COMPLETE!! 12/10 - Page 59 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Beautiful photos of the Boardwalk area and the Dolphin fountain!
What a lovely walk!
Glad you enjoyed them! Just so beautiful and just love the nice slow walk as so much to take in!

It really is special and the fountain and colors on the walkway on the Swalfin are amazing and so much to take in! The Boardwalk is equally beautiful as well!

Love all your photo’s, I haven’t seen that area at night and it is quite beautiful.
Glad you enjoyed the photos! It's quite amazing with the walkway between the Swan and Dolphin and worth a visit if in the Epcot area or visiting the Boardwalk!

The Epcot area resorts are so beautiful lit up at night. The fact that these are all so close together makes the lights brilliant. The Dolphin is stunning at night.
I absolutely love each and every one of the Epcot resorts!!! The Crescent Lake area is one of the most beautiful night time spots to be in all of WDW IMHO!! The walkway to the Dolphin is just gorgeous, Dave and I can see why you love it so much!!

Just so true and I love this area so much! Just makes my trip even better! I was amazed with the Dolphin's walkway and it looked so nice during the day but at night was taken to another level!

Definitely, worth revisiting and so amazing and make sure to make it a slow walk to take it all in!

I agree with everything you say and everything is just amazing in all of the Boardwalk area, but it's the Dolphin that is just stunning! Just so tranquil at night with all the lighting, even if there are a lot of people around which doesn't matter. When I've dined at Yachtsman's, I like sitting outside in those rocking chairs with a beverage and taking in the beautiful scenery of Crescent Lake and Stormalong Bay, which are amazing at night all lit up! I can't think of a better way to wind down an evening in WDW and I need to do this more often here. Just don't think of it.

I love the area around the lake lit up at night! I have also always admired the Dolphin at night, it seems so tropical. I've never been to the Bellvue lounge but it looks quite interesting.
It's such a relaxing way to wind down at WDW after a busy day as the Boardwalk area is so beautiful all lit up at night. I'm surprised the Belle Vue Lounge was so empty.
What a great evening in Epcot and viewing Illuminations. We still have never seen it. It is on my Never Done Must Do list if we make it back in May.
Love the pics of Beach Club and Boardwalk. So beautiful.
That entrance to Dolphin is spectacular!!! Just stunning!
Lots of beautiful photos and yes, I enjoyed all of them!
Wow, the Belle Vue looked deserted!
Glad you liked them as amazing all lit up in the evening. I couldn't believe how empty Bellevue was as I've been here many times when it's quite active.

It's just so beautiful in the entire Boardwalk area at night! Just loved the walk back to the Dolphin with the lighting, fountain and music for a bit of a show. I enjoy the Bellevue Lounge as quite a relaxing place like Mizner's and Victoria Falls, which are my two other favorite lounges in WDW.

You are so right about this and one of my favorite areas in all of WDW at night, if not the one! I was very surprised about this too as often I've been here and it isn't like this. Perhaps, had something to do with being a Monday? But, I thought they would have received some of BWI residents returning from Illuminations.

I can't believe you haven't seen this show! You must see this if it's the one thing you do on any WDW trip. Just an amazing show! Glad you enjoyed the photos and I loved my walk to the Dolphin!

Looking over this TR and the one from last year has brought up a bit of amazement! My October 2016 TR was 7 days and this current one is 11 days. I’m just completing Day 6 after this current post and I already have more posts than my previous TR. Just crazy and can only explain the reason as I provide more and more details within each TR I do. I also take more photos with each trip and helps having a Galaxy Smartphone which is more convenient than a digital camera and takes amazing photos and especially at night! One other thing is my 2016 TR has over 171K views! What did I do to deserve this attention? I know you like my TRs but......
Anyway, we resume the TR below! I arrived inside the Dolphin and took the escalator upstairs to the lobby. I began by walking around the lobby and taking more of it in, as yesterday I didn’t cover all of it. It’s quite beautiful and so much to see with the remodel for which they have done such a great job with. The old lobby was showing its’ age and sort of dingy and not that welcoming. A complete contrast to what it is now!
I like these as so colorful on one of the counters on the circumference of the lobby.
Plenty of areas to relax off the lobby
These hallways contain some of the elevators and convention rooms
It’s about 10 pm and as you can see, Phin’s bar is quite crowded. Quite a contrast to the Bellevue Lounge over on the Boardwalk. I will be going here in a bit after the next photo. Perhaps, I made the wrong choice?
I went up to Phin’s and took a seat on the left side of the bar and glad I could get one as quite crowded tonight. I looked over the menu, which is below and decided what I wanted. I went with a glass of Prosecco, which is always good at night or anytime!
I spent some time here just relaxing as well as watching one of the TVs as Monday Night Football was on.
I love the modern look of Phin’s and the display tower for the various liquors.
After, watching the football game for a while, I finished my Prosecco, settled my bill and left Phin’s. Before, returning to my room I got several more photos of the beautiful lobby.
Although, it was close to 11 pm, there were still many guests still checking in.
Love the fountain and these guys! Who forgot their beer?
A nice place to relax morning, day or night!
Still crowded at the bar and more so than when I was just there.
Seems most guests have gathered on the right side of the bar. I’m pretty sure they're all part of a convention they are attending at the Dolphin. But I'm thinking they can conduct some business and charge the drinks back to their employer!
Main front entrance to the Dolphin
As you can see it’s quite long!
I went inside and took the elevator back to my room. I watched some TV for a while, got ready for bed and prepared everything I would need tomorrow. I was in bed by 11:30 pm.
It would be a big day for me on Tuesday with so many firsts happening on my first Animal Kingdom experience during this trip!

My goodness, that bar was very crowded for that hour! I can only put it down to the fact that it was probably a lot of convention goers enjoying their evenings?
Great photos from all around the lobby - it's such a huge improvement from what was there before.
