Cheaper by the Dozen – Lukas’ 1st Birthday Extravaganza! - Page 59 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Yay! The TR is started.
The boys looked like they had a fun time at the airports and on the plane.
The view from that value studio looked great!
Can't wait for more!

I wish we made it over to Jambo House, but never did ( small change in plans, you'll see soon) AKL was a beautiful resort, but holy crap is it BIG!!
I'm now thinking you have no room to harass Kelly for not starting her TR when we are still waiting for your's to start. Remember I'm leaving soon, and I would like to get started reading this thing before I go...you do realize it's all about me...so get crackin' girl!
You have just made my weekend....what the perfect way to start off this cold Friday....Kelly has started the TR YEAH!!!
Love that the flight went well, the bags were a hit and you have made it through the gates. Love the pictures from your MILs room, was thinking of trying to conserve points and getting a value studio until we move into club level.
Love the picture of Dylan pulling Mike's suitcase....I think the Lighting McQueen suitcase will be at hit at the holidays.
Great start! Very nice flight for you and Mike, and it sounds like the parents didn't have a bad time with the kids, either. Dylan's a travel pro by now, I guess. I can't remember the last time I was on a ME bus with a working movie! It's so boring without it, but at least you went right to Jambo House.
Or maybe it worked but there was no sound? I can't remember now, but I know it wasn't the norm.

I didn't see him have any, but that doesn't mean he didn't have any before getting on the plane.
Thanks abotu the boys!

Well I am proud of you for getting 2 cocktails on the flight, it's never too early for a drink while on vacation.

Seems like a smooth start so far...........can't wait for more!!
Notice Mike pushing the stroller. I'm sure it was carrying a bunch of luggage.
I thought you stayed at Jambo House? Now I'm curious.

Love the zebra chair on the deck, I'd love to have those for my back deck.
I think it's so cute that the boys look like they're already having a blast at the airport.
And goody bags...right...put that on the list of to-dos. ugh!!
I need to get back to Starbucks for another, but we got home and it got hot, then cold, then hot, and now back to fall like temps.
My in-laws didn't even notice the zebra chairs until they got back home and saw them on the picture.
Buy some treats the day after Halloween for a fraction of the price!

They were good little travelers. They did have a nice view. I'm hoping we luck out with it next year since we booked a value studio.

Sorry about that! I'll be sure to inform you next time. I personally sent 2 people texts right after I posted this so they'd get off my back.

Glad I could 'warm-up' your weekend. Are you expecting snow too?
We've booked a value studio for next May/June and I hope we get a room like this. I know that the savannah view rooms are limited in that category as are all the value rooms. Apparently they're just a tad bit smaller than a normal studio so they offer them at lower points, but it looked plenty big for the 4 of us for next year.
The suitcase should be arriving today! Now to hide it!

Great start Kelly! I love seeing the pics of the boys, they are so cute! I love the one of Lukas looking out at your plane, he just looks so mesmorized.
I have to say, I keep checking back and forth, bc I think that your and Mike's moms look like they could be sisters!
Can't wait to hear more...what a great room Mikes parents have!

Thanks for reading! Never heard that about our moms, but I guess I could see some similarities.

When I saw that the Cards had won, I thought of you, and how excited you must be!
I have been meaning to post something here or on FB about your Cardinals beating my Rangers!!! Lol!! It was a great series. I am disappointed that the Rangers didn't win, but the Cardinals are a great team, so I am not too upset.
Can't wait for more of your TR!
yeah you started your trip report. Love the pictures of the boys , they are just so cute. Love the back-side of crawling at the airport picture.
I like watching the video, though I have seen it many times and also enjoy looking aout the window. But if I had little ones then video is the way to go. I love the Donald cartoon after the regular video.
can't wait to hear more of your triip and how the boys are with the characters

I thought of you too - especially since you sent me a note in the beginning. It was a crazy series. And watching the expression of Ron Washington about took my high of winning down. He looked so sad. And thanks for being a great sport!

Thank you for coming along! I hope to get in another update soon - or the natives will turn restless again.
