As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

must not drool on laptop or it will short....what a wonderful thread i just spent 4 hours looking through all 58 pages I hope the picture attached Hubby got this for his bday at Le cellier (SP?) it was delicious
I was at WDW for my honeymoon Oct 26 - Nov 2, 2008 and I have TONS of photos as I was on Deluxe Dining and mostly dined in restaurants.
Here are pics from a lunch and a dinner at Raglan Road. This one of my DH and my fav's. It has good and bad points but we loved the service and the entertainment at dinner, it's rowdy and fun (we like pub food and entertainment at home so this is a cool place for us!)
Good: Most of the foods we tried are great and the desserts are to DIE for! The band is amazing and the dancer is talented.
Bad: The bread could be used as cement(?) in construction and the alcohol is overpriced. A pint isn't really a pint and the bartenders are snooty about it.
On to the pictures...
Seared Beef Salad - With a horseradish drizzle served with mixed greens and crispy fried onions
Wonderfully fresh salad and the beef was served seared but medium rare on the inside. Delicious and refreshing at the same time - would def recommend.
Fried Irish Goat's Cheese with Walnuts, Cranberry Sauce and Mixed Fresh Greens
The tart goat's cheese and sweet/tangy cranberries went very well together and the salad was a nice palete cleanser between bites - YUM!
Beef Stew with Green Beans
Savoury and flavourful not my fav but my DH loved it. The beans were fresh and tasted lovely.
Shepard's Pie
Not a fan of this item either - it was nice but the portion was small for the price and it's a basic dish that should be hearty. It doesn't match the rest of the food/portion ideals at this establishment. All the same, the taste was good and the potatoes creamy.
It's Not Bleedin' Chowder
For a seafood lover (and I am) then this is amazing! Fresh seafood in a wonderfully light sauce.
Fish & Chip's
One of the best I've ever had - and I've had alot in my day. Fish was fresh and lightly battered and the chips are thicker than beefeaters! Wonderful with malt vinegar!
Bread & Butter Pudding - THE BEST!
There's nothing else to say - the best dessert at WDW! It's a lovely pudding and the sauces are sweet and rich.
Sticky Toffee Pudding
A little heavier in the pudding but the sweet sauce and smooth ice cream go nicely with it - would def recommend this dessert as well.
More to come!

Cali Grill is expensive but I feel it's worth it - between the excellent service and the wonderful food it's worth the two credits on the dining plan or the price tag at the end of the night. Here is what we ordered and as it was our honeymoon they decorated the table and made the night special for us.
Warm Sourdough Bread
Butter and Olive Oil
Lobster and Shrimp Cakes
Fresh and light with very little breading or filler - it was all seafood with a light salad and sauce to accompany it.
Spicy Kazan Roll
Fresh and spicy, a very large portion, which made it worth the price! Highly recommend this dish as a starter or a main entree!
Filet of Beef and Mashed Potatoes
Cooked to perfection the beef was tender and metled in the mouth. The mash was smooth and creamy.
Cheese Course
Lovely different cheeses with honeycomb, candied nuts, candied figs and raisins with toasted crostini.
Camomile Tea
Valrhona Chocolate Cake and Raspberry Warm Chocolate Cake with Molten Center, House-made Raspberry Ice Cream and Raspberry Sauce
Sweet and tangy an amazing end to the meal!
???
I don't remember what this is but my DH loved it - I think it's the pork loin but don't quote me on that
We went to the Brown Derby for lunch one day and they gave us champagne with strawberries to celebrate our honeymoon (not pictured). The service and food was lovely and the best food we had at Hollywood Disney. They gave us a booth all to our selves and while it was loud with families it still felt initmate for us in our booth.
Steamed Prince Edward Island Mussels in Fresno chili broth with sweet corn, shallots, chorizo, cilantro and fried tortilla
A little taste of home for me and it was lovely. Large portion and the sauce was good enough just by itself
Coconut Fried Shrimp with Asian pear-chili sambal and citrus soy dipping sauce
Sweet and savory at the same time, the shrimp were huge and the sauce was lovely.
Grilled Atlantic Salmon with baby spinach, cannellini beans, ugli tomato, warm bacon vinaigrette and Meyer lemon aioli
Fresh ingredients cooked to perfection for a light but satisfying lunch.
Grilled Rib Eye Steak with arugula, crispy sweet onions, gorgonzola, red bliss potatoes, and oven-dried tomato vinaigrette
Cooked to order and tender in the mouth - I loved the steak. The cheese is strong but creamy and the sides went well nicely with everything.
Flourless Chocolate Cake with port wine chocolate sauce, fresh berries, and sweetened creme fraiche
Amazing cake and the fruit was tart in contrast. They gave me a medallion of Ariel and her prince and it was the dessert for the Year of a Million Dreams.
Banana White Chocolate Toffee Tower on cocoa almond cookie and bananas foster
DH loves bananas so this dessert was heaven for him!
More to come!

More from my honeymoon deluxe dining...this is Nine Dragons at EPCOT after the reno and reopen.
The portions were large but the taste confusing. They mixed Thai, Chinese and other asian styles in - so it is not a true Chinese meal. However the taste was good with fresh ingredients, served hot and again the portions were huge!
Shrimp and Taro Lollipops
These were tasty and the presentation was cool but nothing special. The dipping sauce was a wonderful flavour though.
Shrimp Summer Rolls
Classic flavour and presentation, but more Thai than chinese The peanut sauce was really good!
Zha Jiang Noodles Sampler
A great idea - fun, fresh ingredients, tasty and great to mix and match! A larger bowl to mix it all up would have been nice though.
Shanghai Beef and Tofu
Very large portion of tofu and tender beef in broth with very fresh veg. Wonderful meal - but even I couldn`t finish it.
We got the lemon cake as dessert - both of us - sorry no pic - it was a nice cake but particularily chinese.
Next - Odds and ends...
