A 40th celebration to end the world! COMPLETED 6/24 - Page 58 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Cheryl, We had fun meeting with you and Mark at Goofy's Kitchen. Glad Mark made it back ok. The upstastairs at Build A Bear is the same as the downstairs. It just doubles the space.
I'm just sorry Mark wasn't feeling great, but I'm glad I got to spend more time with you later on.
I'm glad now I didn't bother going upstairs if there wasn't much more up there.
Do you think you just caught Belle's hand at a funny angle... because those are huge hands for a princess It does look like lego Belle didn't quite get the right proportions
Love the Queen of Hearts outfit for May
I don't think I caught Belle at a funny angle. I think her hands were out of proportion with the rest of her.
I love Build a Bear so much! You can get those outfits online I believe. Our local BAB is expanding and I hope that they get more Disney outfits.
You may be able to do that online in the States, but I haven't seen anything like that over here. They have the regular princess outfits, but I liked the options they had there.
Very disappointing to hear that there are no veg options at Goofy's Kitchen. I'm with you, a plate of seasonal vegetables is not an entree! I guess I'll stick with character breakfasts, where I'm sure of getting filled up.
That sounds like a safer plan...

I like Disneyland's eclectic mix of characters a lot, too, and wish there was a breakfast at WDW with Baloo, one of my favorites!
Wouldn't that be fun?

Those outfits for May are so adorable! You've got to post some pics of her wearing them. A cow dressed as Eeyore is something I have to see!
Darn - I never got one of her dressed as Eeyore... I know that sounds stupid, but I just didn't.

Poor Mark. He's having a tough time on this trip and hope he feels better soon.
So the buffet was disappointing. I do like the eclectic mix of characters they have at the Disneyland meals, but I agree that it is disappointing about some of the characters missing your table. The same thing happened at Breakfast with Minnie and friends. I could see Rabbit on the other side of the restaurant, but Rabbit never came to our side! Hope Mark is feeling better soon!
Oh what a shame, especially as Rabbit's such a rare character to see.
I thought this at first too but it is just the Lego version of Belle. All their characters are "bulky" shall we say.
I guess there's a limit to what they can do with Legos, and I suppose better bulky that anorexic, as that wouldn't look good either..

I HAVE to know if you found any Cars Legos - my son would be over the moon as he only has like 2 small Lego (not Duplo) sets from Cars and would love to get more.
Unfortunately - we went back and asked and were told they'd stopped doing them, which is such a shame, as I think it's got an appeal to an older age group than Duplo...

So sad about Mark. I just don't understand why the Buffets fall short. There should be something for everyone!!!! Oh and all the outfits you picked are so darn adorable!!!!
Those outfits for May are so adorable! You've got to post some of her wearing them. A cow dressed as Eeyore is something I have to see!
As I say, I don't think I have one of her as Eeyore. I know I have a photo somewhere of her as the Queen of Hearts and I can get a shot of her in her current outfit. I'm not feeling brilliant right now (I got a nerve in my neck/shoulder caught), so I'll see how I'm feeling tonight and if I feel better, I'll try and find them....
Wednesday 26 December – part five: I wonder if my donkey boy’s here….
With that, we headed back to the room, so Mark could take some tablets, and lie down. After an hour or so, I told Mark that I’d head out, so I did. I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to do, except I knew I was going to head for the Disneyland Park. I thought of going for the monorail, but thought there might be a big line there, so I walked through Downtown Disney instead.
As soon as I got through the entrance, I headed for the railroad. As I went up the steps, two Cast Members were standing there, older guys, who said “here comes trouble.” Now I have no idea what they meant by that. We chatted, and they told me what a lovely accent I’d got, and then asked where in Australia I came from? Oh boy!
The train was in, so I hurried to catch it, but we were held for some time, because the parade had started, and obviously goes over the tracks by It’s A Small World, according to the announcements I heard. Finally, we were off and running. I was thinking of going on a full trip round the park, but given the delays so far, I decided to get off at New Orleans Square instead.
My logic was that I’d remembered there was a certain little grey donkey who sometimes inhabited Critter Country, so I headed that way. I rounded the corner, and saw a sight to brighten my day. I had such a stupid grin on my face – there was my donkey boy!
I got in line, which was a bit longer than I first figured, so I got some photos of my surroundings:
You had to see Tigger first….
… then Eeyore. I was so glad I got to see both of them, although it was a shame neither of them were good enough to warrant a Photopass photographer.
I’d seen that the Adventures of Winnie the Pooh had no line when I walked past it, so I headed that way, and it was still a walk-on. Sadly I missed the Eeyore hunny pot.
I thought the trees looked great with the lighting on them
No doubt how Mark would like to see Piglet!
When I came out of there, I had a browse in the Pooh Corner shop. Sadly, just like Disney World, it’s not exactly packed with Winnie the Pooh items any longer, but at least it has some theming in there and it’s got more Pooh themed things than in Florida.
When I came out of there, I noticed that Pooh was good enough to have a Photopass photographer but he was standing there, with no-one to see him, presumably because Eeyore was before him, and everyone wanted to spend time with him!
As I headed out of Critter Country, I had another unexpected character interaction with Brer Fox…
