I Don’t Wanna Grow Up – 30th Birthday Trip x2, August 7-11, 2010 - Page 57 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

You look great, but I can completely relate to the cankles. Chad was sure to point them out to me...what a great husband I have!
I'm so excited to see how club level was for you. We're hoping to be able to book this in May 2012 with our DVC points, but I heard they don't have much availability for it, so I guess it will be a gamble. We would either need 2 studios or 1 1-bedroom...fingers crossed right there with you!

Your room looks amazing!! And talk about a view!! Can't wait to hear about SciFi.....you are actually the person that convinced me to give it a try next trip!

just looking at your room pictures, is making me wish I was there! club level sounds wonderful! the two bedrooms club level would only have 2 bathrooms, right?
oh and you look great! I am only 5'3 and I gained like 55 lbs, looking back at the photos, I was enormous! time has flown by though, I can't believe you only have a month left!
Yes, 2 bathrooms. I think all the Jambo ones are like that - Kidani has 3. I've gained about 30 so far and that's what I gained with Dylan.

Thanks! If it weren't for AKL being our home DVC resort I doubt we'd ever stay club level, so it's definitely something we try for.

When I sit at home with my feet up I'm like oh gross! The other day it was like 100+ and I was going to roll my pants up to capris (the ones that are meant to do that), but my ankles were so fat and we were going out that I left them down to cover then cankles.
There aren't very many DVC club level rooms. Our studio was a lock-off. Good Luck getting one!

Well I gained about 32 with Dylan, who weighed 8 lbs, 4 oz and was 17 days early - so, yeah Lukas will most likely be just as big.
I hope you love Sci-Fi as much as we do! I could go for the bacon cheeseburger I had there right now!
What a wonderful start to your trip, once you got there. I was sad for you about leaving Dylan. I can remember that feeling when Steph was 18 months. Her dad and I went to WDW and US on student loan money (after I paid for school, of course)!! I felt she was too little to join us and plus we were really young, 21 and 19, didn't really trust ourselves with her that far from home and help.
You look so great! I can't believe Lukas will be here so soon! Good to hear that your appointments are going well. Is Dylan excited for lil brother to get here too?
I love that African Smoothie drink in the lounge too! I have to have it everytime we stay! I was sad that I couldn't reserve a club level room with my pin code for the upcoming OCT trip with DMom so we are staying at WL instead. I can't stay at AK with out the club level service, it just wouldn't be the same and I know what I would be missing! We did get it for the May trip though and that has 4 of us going with 2 rooms!!
You are so cute!!! I am 5'4 too so you just look so tiny with a mommy belly I it! I am so glad you shared your pregnancy with us and I cannot wait for that baby boy to get here and see some pictures!! I cannot believe its almost time!
okay so I got warm fuzzy feelings looking at those AKL pics! conceirge is the way to go for sure WOW! I love it! I was just hoping we have toiletres like yours when we stay there! That is so cool!
I cannot wait to hear more!

This update has me so excited about our stay in Club Level next June. The room is beautiful!!!!! Luke said the other day that he figured CL was going to spoil all three of us! Can't wait for more!

Okay, now I'm going to sound stupid, but what is a lock-off? My parents home resort is AKV so we were going to let them book the rooms for our entire party. If not two studios then a 1-bedroom, but I guess you had to call the exact moment of your 11th month right?

Well from one pregger to another.....you look GREAT! 30lbs is awesome, I gained 50 with Josie but it all came on in the end for me, massive swelling. I hope I don't get that again this time.
Your room looks awesome, can't wait to hear more about your trip and to also see the birhtday decorations.........I got nervous for you when I didn't see them at first.
Glad all your Dr appts are going well, even if they are frequent. I know you must be ready to go for sure.
Kelly you look great - thanks for the update too. Your room looks awesome and so glad it was ready fairly quickly.
Is it just me or does this photo look like it could almost be a hidden Mickey?
Clump of trees in middle, fencing area as right ear and left ear…well that is where it is questionable. But it looks like more trees in a circular pattern.
Sorta like the old hidden Mickey in what was MGM, before that God Awful sorcerer’s hat ruined it (and the view of the Chinese theater, but don't get me started) - boy I miss that hidden Mickey.

Thanks Shelley! I'm nto really sure what Dylan thinks - and I don't think we'll really know until it happens. We're taking him to a new sibling class at the hospital over Labor Day weekend in hopes that will prepare him. Bummer you couldn't get it for Oct, but awesome for May - and it's great for a birthday celebration!

Thanks Crissy! You always make me feel so much better! If I remember I'll try to take one with my phone and send it to all my PassPorter friends when I have him.

Lock-off meaning we had a door that led into another room inside our room. I'm assuming next to us was a 1 bedroom and to make it a 2 the door between the 1 bedroom and our studio would be unlocked and open. I've gotten CL twice, but I did call the morning of our 11 month window. It sounds like you've got a chance since your parents home is AKV.

Aw! Thanks so much!I swelled a bit at the end with my first - mainly my feet and I do occasionally now when it's really hot out. I'm ready - today is the worst I've felt - my back is killing me! Plus it doesn't help that Dylan woke me up at 4am and wouldn't go back to sleep.

Thanks! I guess I can kind of see the HM now that I look at it closely.
