We're going to WDW! Adventures of a Mom & Toddler Trip, PTR - Page 57 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

yay! its all coming together. I gotta do alot of that stuff this weekend I cannot believe its nearly time! You reminded me of a few things I need to get done myself LOL
Thanks everyone. I got the majority of our stuff packed tonight. Besides the cleaning(which I know will take a while), and the little bit left to pack, I can relax a little bit before we leave, and certainly sleep in a little bit the day we leave. I tried weighing my two checked in bags, but the scale won't weigh them. All of our clothes are neatly packed in one and the rest of the stuff is in the other. I feel so much better now that the majority of packing is done.

Yea! Glad to hear the packing is done--now I'm sitting next to the TV biting my nails--trying to not just turn off the TV and wait for the results. I love watching football--but watching the Saints play becomes stressful for me!

Thanks Heather. You and us both. I was biting my nails, knocking on wood, you name it. I mjssed part of the 3rd Quarter from packing, but the packing needed to get done. Kind of scary with Reggie Bush getting injured. I'm glad Hartley didn't botch the Field Goal.
Oh BTW, did you know Jabari Greer made an appearance on Bridezillas? His sister was certainly a wicked Bridezilla. She wouldn't even let the DJ announce him as a member of the Super Bowl Champs. He did look
pretty nice in a Tuxedo as one of the
Groomsmen though.

Thank you all. Erick made a comment to me last night ehen he came home and asked if anything was packed. I told him I'm 95% packed. He was quite shocked too. I feel so relieved about the packing being done. I know cleaning needs to get done, and I asked Erick to help me with it tonight and Thursday nigt when he's offwork and told me not to worry about it. He works too hard for me to leave him withthat, but I think he wants me relaxed over the next few days instead of having a pre-trip Anxiety Attack, especially since I would have a hard time getting it under control unmedicated. Only one more appointment this week, and then Vacation Mode can officially start.
I know Friday night when we get there we're going to go out to dinner with my mom and my Aunt. I told my mom at least for lunch and dinner Saturday and Sunday we can save some money and eat at her place. The last time I was there 3 years ago(exact time of the year) she made these delicious salads that had grilled chicken, dried blueberries, ranch flavored almond slivers(which were used instead of croutons), a bunch of other raw veggies, and either baby spinach or a mixture of various kinds of lettuce with a freshly squeezed orange quarter for dressing on it. Oh my, I could live off of salads. She was surprised when ai mentioned that for lunch and dinner before we leave. Skyler may not like the orange on it, but he will eat it, since he is just like me in the sense of our prefered meat being chicken and being big fruit and veggie lovers. At least the only cooking will be the chicken breasts, but very easy meals. Mind you, I love my mom's cooking, but since I don't want anything going bad on her, I like to be easy on her. She did even mention she made a basket of goodies to brin with for snacks and breakfast(how thoughtful) in Disney, so we will see when we get there if we're going to bake muffins(although I think those would help boost our energy level through out the day with a well balanced source of calcium, protein, and potassium! I know if they gave me energy for swim meets when I was younger, they should help energize us for the parks.
I do feel like Tigger though. Bouncing off the walls to go. I hope everyobe's having a great day. Friday will be here efore I know it, and it doesn't feel the the 5 months of planning have flown by so quickly. Thanks for helping the time of our trip fly by with all of your kind words and following with all of my ramblings in my PTR. I will update until we leave though and try to when we're there.
My mom almost tried to get me to switch our hotel and not stay on Disney Property. I've already told her we're already checked in, and paid in full and we bought a package deal from Disney. I did tell her it is way too late to do that. I know she means well trying to find a room at a different hotel for $25-35 a night, but I want to stay on property. Honestly I felt a little stressed out with her asking that. I appreciate her trying to save us money, but when it'sbeen over 20 years since you've stayed on property it will be nice being able to do it. I should have known she was going to try to get me to change something else for Disney. Plus I want Skyler to be able to enjoy the Toy Story section of our hotel, especially since he loves Toy Story. I just don't need last minute stress or anxiety right now since I know Disney will charge me to change my reservations at this point and it's not worth the extra expense to stay at a different hotel at this point. Sorry for my rant everyone.
