10 Nights of Magic in The Orlando Trifecta-TR - COMPLETE!! 12/10 - Page 55 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Yes, it seems like your table mates certainly enjoyed their wine Dave! The whole experience looked amazing! I've never done any of the beverage seminars or special lunches during the F&W but it is certainly something I might consider after seeing your pictures!
Yes that is quite the change in your tablemates! Not surprising though given how much alcohol had been consumed...
Your Dover sole looked amazing - glad to hear its taste lived up to its appearance. Remind me how much this cost? It seems like it was probably great value for money?
That is for sure and what several glasses of wine can do to change the atmosphere! But, it was a good time, experience and great meal and glad I did it.
The Dover Sole was amazing and my favorite course! I think it was about $100 and well worth it with five courses and the unexpected unlimited wine!

You are so right about this and funny as the meal progressed! It was an amazing meal, experience and time with everyone and we all enjoyed it so much. I definitely plan on doing another one of these next time for the Festival and probably October next year. Glad you enjoy the photos and enjoy providing these and all the details!

So funny what a little wine will do to a group of strangers! Your meal looks delicious and I think the price, while a bit high, was worth it.
You are so correct, but in a very good way as we enjoyed our company and meal so much! I don't think the price was that high, considering what you get with five courses and basically unlimited wine! The latter, I wasn't expecting going into the meal.

It wasn't just my table mates who enjoyed their wine! It was a great time and enjoyed the meal and overall experience so much. It was definitely worth it. I've done a few seminars and experiences on my two trips to the F&W Festival now. I really enjoy these and good way to learn and experience new things about food and beverages. There is one more later in my TR, but a few days away.

This looks and sounds like a most wonderful dining experience at a great value, too, especially as they kept refilling your glasses. Love the photos of your table mates at the start and the finish.
Well that was a lovely lunch with some new friends! Everything looks delicious and it sounds they were not short on the wine!
I enjoyed the company so much and we had such a great group at our table! We all enjoyed the wine and more so as the meal progressed! The 5 courses were all so good and definitely not short on the wine! I was expecting a small pour for each course and then I was surprised as our server kept coming around to pour more for everyone! I did not expect this, but all good! We all had such a great time....not that the wine had anything to do with it!

An amazing value and especially when you're talking about Disney as they tend not to give anything away! But always great experiences here regardless of the cost! At $100 and 5 courses, I think the value was excellent and the basically unlimited wine (which I was not expecting in any way) added to the benefit of this meal. But, it was really the food and my table companions that made this lunch so memorable! I can't wait to do one of these special meals on my next trip to the Festival, which should be October, 2019 if all goes well!
I noticed the difference with my companions in the photos and felt it would be a good contrast in circumstances of before/after to show and enhance my TR a bit! I'm glad I didn't include myself in the photos as I'm not sure how I'd look. I definitely show it and can't hide it at all!

Hooray for the 15 minute grace period. Glad you made it in time for Soarin'!
The lunch and wind pairing looked really interesting. Love how much your tablemates changed by the end of lunch!

It was close but mde Soarin' with several minutes to spare! It was a great lunch and enjoyed it so much. I just wasn't expecting them to keep coming around and pouring more wine, which contributed to the interaction at our table! The photos of our table tell the story! Not that any of us was turning down the wine!

Monday, October 9th (Part III) I looked at the notes for my trip and I see my lunch at Tutto Gusto ended at 2:50 pm and not 2:30 pm as I said in the previous update. The original plan was to walk over to Future World after my lunch for my third PP+ of the day and the Pixar Shorts Film Festival over at the Journey to Imagination pavilion. I was already well into my window for the attraction time, which began at 2:20 pm. I could probably make it, but that wasn’t going to happen! It would have to wait for another time. After my big Italian wine lunch and the heat and humidity outside, I just wanted to return to the Dolphin. What I need is a good nap and was looking forward to it.
I plan on returning to Epcot later for some food and beverage offerings in the World Showcase at the Food & Wine Festival. That is, if I’m hungry by then. I was also looking forward to Illuminations as well and always a must on every trip!
I left Tutto Gusto and out of the Italy Pavilion and walked towards the International Gateway to the Epcot Resorts area. Even though I was tired and feeling it from the heat, I still got some photos on the walk back to the Dolphin.
I didn’t go directly to the International Gateway as I decided to see if there was any entertainment going on in the U.K. or Canada. There was some and I could hear it from a distance in Canada, so I headed over there for a little while.
Alberta Bound on the Mill Stage in Canada. I still miss Off Kilter who I loved! But this band is good as well.
After watching some of Alberta Bound’s show I headed towards the International Gateway. I thought about taking one of the Friendship boats back to the Dolphin but there wasn’t one there and I didn’t feel like waiting and know I can walk back faster to my resort than these boats go with the several stops.
In just a few minutes I had made it to the Boardwalk area and was halfway home.
Soon I was approaching the Swan and Dolphin resorts and in just a few minutes I’d be back to my room for some needed rest and a/c!
Friendship boat on the way to Epcot
I arrived at the walkway between the Swan and Dolphin. It’s so beautiful and is amazing at night with this area all lit up and the animated fountain! There is always music playing and today was “Over The Rainbow.” Not the Judy Garland version but from the Hawaiian singer named Israel who plays it on a ukulele. I love this version and I even filmed a bit of it, while I walking to the Dolphin on the esplanade.
Isn’t this something?
Dolphin’s active fountain. You should see it at night!
I entered the hotel and just across from Todd English’s BlueZoo restaurant and saw something very interesting below.
I like this model of the Swan and Dolphin resorts. I should have taken more photos of this.
After this, I took the escalator upstairs to the lobby and walked to the east elevators and returned to my room. It felt so good in the room, once I had the a/c going. I wrote down a few notes from my day at Epcot and put on the TV. I had Stacie on the TV with the Disney attractions show, which is enjoyable. I set my alarm as I’d be returning to Epcot in a couple of hours or so. It didn’t take long for me to fall asleep. I slept for a good ninety minutes or a bit more.
NEXT: I Don’t Think There Will Be a Lot of Eats Tonight!

Sounds like a good time for a nap. The walkway up to the hotel is very pretty.
Yes it was and I was looking forward to it! Between the lunch and the intense heat and humidity combining to take its' toll on me! I love that walkway and wait till you see it all lit up at night later in my TR!

Definitely so ! You'll love the nighttime photos of my walks back to the Dolphin! The nap is well needed after such a big lunch, that I usually don't do. It seemed like it would be a good one and I wasn't disappointed! It was a great experience and will certainly do one of these on my next F & W Festival trip!
