10 Nights of Magic in The Orlando Trifecta-TR - COMPLETE!! 12/10 - Page 53 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Welcome! We're happy you've found the PassPorter Community -- the friendliest place to plan your vacation to Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Line, Disneyland, and the world in general! We visited the lobby at The Dolphin last October and thought they did a great job with the remodel. Glad you enjoyed your drink at the bar. Sounds like quite a presentation of the drinks there!
The remodel is quite well done and so much better than its' previous look, which was becoming quite outdated. I enjoy the bar and that one drink was quite something.

What a shame your dinner at Paddlefish was hit and miss.
I certainly disappointed with it overall. I was very surprised considering how many very good meals I had at Fulton's. I certainly plan to go back as just an off night.

I would agree with that, as we were very impressed with our dinner there last year.

Sorry that your main course at Paddlefish was not what it should have been. Appetizer looked good.
The drinks all sounded great! I am a cheapy when it comes to drinks. I think $7 is steep! lol
The Dolphin entrance is beautiful at night.
The lobby and bar look amazing as well.

I remember your dinner as you went just after Paddlefish opened.

At least part of my meal was good. The drinks can get expensive and especially Disney. They did a great job with the remodel. There will be more photos in the days of head of the Dolphin at night.

Monday, October 9th (Part I) I was up at 8 am as I had a big day ahead of me at Epcot for the Food & Wine Festival. I also had a couple of Fastpasses scheduled, before going to World Showcase. The weather forecast was hot and humid with temperatures around 90 degrees. There was also the possibility for a thunderstorm or a shower. I have written in my notes that it rained, but can’t remember when it did. It may have been later tonight and I don’t think it was much of anything.
I got ready for my day and then went downstairs to Fuel to get some breakfast. It’s mostly grab ‘n’ go fare and there was a lot to choose from. I went for something basic as I’d be having a specialty lunch in Italy later today at the festival. I just had a coffee and a slice of lemon and berry cake. It was quite good. There are quite a few tables to sit at here and it was quite busy.
I returned to my room to relax for a bit and made sure I had everything ready for my day. My first FP+ for the day is for Soarin’ at 9:15-10:15 am, but for some reason I thought it was at 9:30 am. It was about 9:45 am, so I better begin walking to Epcot. There is a fifteen minute grace period on your FP+s and I should get there in plenty of time. But, did I make this one for too early? I hope not. I took the elevator downstairs to the lobby and exited the hotel in the rear to the walkway between the Swan and Dolphin resorts.
Dolphin and boat dock with guests waiting for Friendship boats.
I began my walk and kind of took my time with a fair number of photos along the way. I felt I had plenty of time to make my fastpass+ time, but not as much as I thought in a few minutes as you’ll find out!
I enjoy these walks to/from Epcot as well as Studios as I’ve done these many times in past trips.
Friendship boat docked at Boardwalk Inn resort
I’m hoping to visit this place during my trip
And this one as well, but may be tough!
When I got to the International Gateway, there were not long lines like at the Future World entrance, but for some reason, things got held up for a few minutes. It was the security line as one couple had two strollers and a couple of other people with full backpacks and all of this had to be searched through by security. By the time I got through security I just had to empty a few things out of my pockets, it was close to 10:15 am. I had until 10:30 am to make my Soarin’ FP+ and should make it there in time. But, I did have it on my mind that I may not make it!
Once I was through, I began to power walk from the International Gateway through World Showcase and over to the east side of Future World. But, yet I still got a few photos along the way!
United Kingdom
Just past Canada
Leaving World Showcase and about to enter Future World
When I arrived at The Land in Future World, I still had about 7-8 minutes to spare and felt quite relieved. I headed inside the pavilion and down the stairs to Soarin’.
Arrival at my destination!
Once, I got to the Fastpass+ kiosk to scan my MagicBand, all was well and went through as it went green. I was relieved as this was close and I’d hate to miss out on this one.
Soarin’ queue
There was a bit of line on this side, but not too bad as we were through down to the bottom in just over five minutes.
Captain Patrick for our flight
I got selected for row assignments before many in the FP+ line ahead of me, being a single rider, which I happily volunteered for. Even better as I was in the front row. I’m not exactly sure which side we were on but I think it was B. It was just a few minutes before the doors opened after the video. The ride was as good as ever and I certainly enjoy this version much more than the California version as it makes more sense to have it this way to tie into Epcot with the international theme.
After riding Soarin’ I exited The Land and headed over towards the Festival Center and see if I needed to pick up a ticket for my Italian Regional Food and Wine Pairing Luncheon at Tutto Gusto at 12 pm. My reservation for this event didn’t mention this as it did with the various seminars but I wanted to make sure.
I entered the Festival Center and it wasn’t that busy as the first seminars for the day aren’t until noon. I went to the bottom of the ramp and to the desk for the festival events and inquired about needing a ticket for my event. The CM said I didn’t need one and to just check in outside the restaurant. That was easy enough.
I walked around the Festival Center for a while and checked out the festival merchandise in the shop. I saw a few things I liked but wouldn’t purchase until later in my trip. I wasn’t impressed with the festival t-shirts as I didn’t like the design of them. After this, I headed outside and nearby for my next FP+ and Mission Space-Relaunched. I was wondering how different this would be from the original version?
I chose the orange side for my experience and entered that queue. I got to the top in just a minute or two and shortly we were assigned our prospective lines and positions. I forget which one I had. The ride was very good and there is some nice updating to the film. I thought the overall experience was about the same as the original or just a little better with the updates. It was almost 11:30 am and I began to walk to World Showcase for my special lunch.
The now former Universe of Energy pavilion to be replaced by the Guardians of the Galaxy attraction
I learned from a CM that this stage is being used to film several Wheel of Fortune shows this week.
I then headed left to Mexico and for my destination of Italy in the World Showcase for my lunch event. During my walk, I got a few photos along the way but didn’t stop to visit any of the pavilions as I didn’t have enough time. I need to make more time to visit these on my trips as some of these I haven’t seen a lot of.
Mexico
Norway
China
Germany
Italy and arrival for lunch!
I arrived in Italy at about 11:40 am and had some time before my special lunch event which I was looking forward to. I went to the Donkey Cart kiosk and have a beverage before my lunch. This is next to the Neptune Fountain in the pavilion. I decided on a glass a glass of Prosecco, which was quite enjoyable. I can't remember the last time I had an alcohol beverage before noon!
It was quite hot and humid out and I went to a better shaded area. After relaxing with my Prosecco, it was time to check in for my Italian Regional Food and Wine Pairing Luncheon at Tutto Gusto.
NEXT: I Can’t Believe,They Keep Coming Around!

Glad you made it in time for your Soarin FP, you have already accomplished a lot before lunch.
It was getting closer to my time than I originally thought, but so glad I made it on time! It's been quite an active day so far and just beginning!

I was a bit worried I wouldn't make it as well! Especially, with the delay at the gate, but all worked out and so happy I made it! Glad you are enjoying the photos today and so many more to come!
