As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Re: Iamgrumpy does MOA a Trip Report! Updated 10/13 All of Day 3
Ok sorry for the Delay My mom is driving me bonkers after her knee surgery!
Sunday 10/02
Since Lisa and I didn’t have any plans other then to shop and see what we could find to do at the mall we decided to meet at 9:45 and have breakfast downstairs. I woke up and watched TV after getting dressed. I called home to my mom ranting about how her surgery was postponed and now she would have to be in the Hospital over the weekend…like hello Ma I am in Minnesota what you want me to do fly home and yell at the surgeons wife for having to have emergency surgery?? It was only pushed from Tuesday 10/04 to Thursday 10/06. So after discussing this I was ready to go shopping. While reading the discount book we got when we checked in I noticed that there was a nail place that had a coupon. Hmmm file that for maybe later! I grabbed my purse and went and Knocked on Lisa’s door (come on folks time to sing again…Come and Knock on my door! Ok I know its stuck in your head now!) We headed downstairs and put our orders in for breakfast I had waffles and fruit and English muffin and milk. I also had yogurt again. The food was good. We waited for the shuttle and talked about everything. Lisa is a great person who is fun to hang out with ! So Lisa when we hanging out again???
The shuttle arrived and we made our way to the mall while riding I noticed a company that is located in Hartford and smiled as it was a thing from home. I was having a blast so I was not missing home more like dreading going home! (going home = having to go back to work = dread) Ok Amy snap out of it there is shopping to do! We made it to the Mall and most of the stores were just opening so we walked around a bit hitting the QVC stores to try and find the Today’s Special Value for my mom and cancel the order they were holding from Saturday hoping that rude lady was off! Glad to see she wasn’t there but the Manager was and she was very nice! I explained my mom rather a Sterling Silver Cuff Bracelet then a Silicon Rolling Pin be bought! (that and we didn’t want security thinking I was carrying a weapon) I didn’t need that! Well Val, the manager, felt so bad as the distributor never got her shipment to her in time and so my mom quick put a call in and ordered it over the phone. Lisa and I left and walked around the bottom Floor. We found the Underwater Aquarium and Lisa wanted to go through well that was Awesome! Well I also learned 1 thing in there…Yes I am still afraid of fish! And Ewww Lisa touched one! I wasn’t going to but a 3 year old did and well I couldn’t let a 3 year old do it and me not! (yes I can be very competitive) So I well not so bravely stuck my fingers in the tank and touched a stingray! GROSS! I promptly washed my hands! We left the Aquarium and looked around the first floor again! Then up to the third to try and find the Nail Salon!
On the way, we stopped at the food court on the third floor and Lisa had a chicken and fish combo from Long John Silvers, and I had a two entrée combo from Panda Express. Lisa’s looked great but mine as horrible. Its ok I survived but definitely won’t eat there again! We finally figured out after I walked a few times around that the stores are marked N, S, E, W and then the store number (I know Jana you told me I forgot) so after figuring out we were in W364 not E364 we knew where to find the nail Salon! I went in and looked around making sure it looked like it was a good shop. They wanted $30 for a full set and $35 for a French Tip. I had a coupon for a French Tip Free so after calling the second place and it being the same price I decided to just go to the first as we didn’t have to walk to the complete other side of the mall!
Continued in next post to save on long post!

Re: Iamgrumpy does MOA a Trip Report! Updated 10/13 All of Day 3
Continued from previous post!
Lisa and I decided to split up and to meet in 1 hour at the nail salon that way she didn’t have to wait for me at the salon. One of the women came in and asked if I wanted “full set” and I said told her I wanted French full set. She looked at me like I was talking French but I went in and sat down with the technician and let me start out by saying that I had my nails in acrylics for 6 months last year (took a break from them before my Disney Trip) the place I have them done is owned by two Vietnamese gentleman who are really nice and gentle with my nails even though its hard for me to relax my hands. I know what to expect and when I mentioned I had the coupon I noticed the service went down right from the start. I would have left but she had already super-glued the nails on and started trimming. I figured maybe she was just not as personable. I said ouch more then a few times. Normally they put on clear tips and paint the French on but she used white tips and just put clear polish on. Before putting the clear coat on she had me take out my debit card so I wouldn’t smudge the polish and I also took out the coupon. Well she says it says a $40 value but its only $35 not valid. I looked at her and said that the coupon says its valid and its UP TO a $40 value. She made sure she said she was doing me a favor by taking it...whatever lady as long as I get it…your tip just suffered. So she put the clear coat on and we went to the dryer and I sat and sat waiting for them to dry. They finally dried and I grabbed my bag and walked out to the mall looking for Lisa. I call her just to see where she was and I see her tying her shoes so I walk over and show off my $30 nails that I have to now have fixed! We had noticed after shopping in camp snoopy that there was a steakhouse and we both had wanted steak so we looked around until we were both hungry.
We made our way to the first floor and we looked in Deb Plus as we don’t have that at home. Well lets just say the clothes there are young but maybe not the most flattering for Pooh Sized folks. The store was over packed with clothes and tight to move around in. I called home to a friend to tell her about the store and while I am talking this guy maybe 25 walks in with a guy friend and starts picking out woman’s shirts and talking about his girl wearing it. It was funny to watch them trying to pick out clothes. but at least they were trying!
After walking out we made our way down the hall taking the long way as neither was ready for dinner. We made our way to Camp Snoopy to explore more and found that Lucy, Charlie, and Snoopy were doing their last show and so we sat and watched it. wasn’t Disney but cute! After the show we decided to head over and eat dinner a little sad as it was our last night on vacation! We went in and the place was deserted like a saloon after a shootout empty! We looked at each other wondering if we made a mistake but decided to try it. We were seated promptly and given menus and drink orders taken. We had a coupon so we split the bill and decided one of us would buy an appetizer, and the other would buy dessert so both of us could us the coupons. So we ordered Mozzarella Cheese Sticks that were fried in a breading and had marinara sauce. We both had Prime Rib and a potato and vegetable. It also came with salad and bread with herb butter. Then we ordered a chocolate dessert that I loved! We had a great meal and I would eat at Steakhouse Stampede again! We paid the bill and they had closed Camp Snoopy and the mall was mostly closed. We called the shuttle and waited wanting to get packed early and spend time in the pool!
We took the shuttle back spending another full day at the mall, we went to the Front desk and confirmed that we could check out at 1pm instead of 11am. Our flights were not until late afternoon. We also confirmed our shuttle pick up for 1am as well. We went upstairs and I packed my last few items and changed and met Lisa at her room to go to the pool! Lets hope that those love birds are not there again!
Nope no love birds so in we go and start planning our trip to WDW in October! We stayed a good two hours and up to bed as we planned on getting early start so we could get pool time in before checking out!
Best Thing today… Steakhouse Stampede and the Aquarium
Worst Thing today… The thought that I leave tomorrow!
One thing I would have changed…the nail salon!
The weather was nice and sunny 80’s
Up Next…15 times through an X ray Machine...and yep that’s your flight that is Delayed!

Great updates Amy! Sorry to hear about the poor service in the nail place I can't wait to read more, although it doesn't sound like you had a good journey home.
