As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Sorry things weren't smooth sailing (or is it smooth flying?) going through security. You would think with your pre-screen it would have been a breeze. You can't win them all though I guess.
What a nice husband you have agreeing to sit with the kids. After you were about to loose your schmidt. But really that must have been a treat. Not sure if Nate would volunteer for that one. I'm kind of dreading our next flight - especially if there is a delay in takeoff. We managed when Cameron was 18 months, but we'll have a 3 1/2 year old and a 16 month old next time. Sounds a little stressful.
Glad you got your photos figured out. I've never used photobucket, but have heard some complaints. Looking forward to hearing about the rest of the trip!

Does/Will your DH have any idea why you want him to put on lederhosen. Funny how you aren't complaining about your IT person now that she is spending all her free time fixing your PB issues not finishing her TR
When we arrived at the BC we were greeted by a CM who quickly swept us upstairs to check in. She sat me down at a desk with another CM and took Arnaud and the kids to the lounge to hang out. I was told that the systems had been down since 3am and they had to do everything manually…..it didn’t seem so bad. The only major thing was they had to give us a weird temporary key that would give us access to the elevator and our room, we would have to check back later for a real key.
So off to the room we went, and we didn’t have to go far as it was the first room on the right!!! Excellent location! The room was great and the balcony and view was even better. We faced the outdoor main courtyard and could even see a bit of the pool. We were all happy and ready to unpack and jump into our bathing suits until I realized we didn’t have a daybed. Ah crap, we really loved this room, but I did want the daybed for Andre, so I went back out to speak to the CM who checked me in. She informed me that daybed rooms were only reserved told me that ALL rooms had a daybed so my request wouldn’t be a problem. This CM wasn’t real pleasant at this point we me, I told her if I had known that they really didn’t have the daybeds, then I would have just went to a different resort. She told me that even if she wanted to try and move me, she couldn’t because the systems were down and they wouldn’t be back up again until after 3pm. I said fine, I’ll check back then. I was a little less than thrilled with how short she was with me; it started to put a bad taste in my mouth with the CM here in the CL.
So we went off to the pool anyway and of course had a great time playing with the kids! They just adore that pool, and really, who doesn’t. It was now around 3 so we decided to head back up to the rom and see what was going on. When I got up to the floor, I stopped back in to check with the CM who had been helping me………well guess what folks, she had left for the day!!!! No message from her saying she was putting me with so-and so CM, or I hope we can fix this tomorrow……..nothing! Now, I was angry. I went back to the room to tell Arnaud what was up and then decided to go speak with someone else. By this point everyone was busy so I just had a seat and would wait for someone to become free. A few minutes later this lovely CM Kristyn said to me that she wanted to check on a room for me and she would be right back. Sure enough in a few minutes she was back and said she had a room with a daybed to move us too. GREAT!! Whatever was the problem before, I have no idea, but the fact that she was just willing to “try” and see what they could do was very sweet. I wanted a daybed for Andre mainly because he is still just 2 and I wasn’t sure if he would have rolled out of that big queen bed, or what. But, it was all taken care of and now we could just unpack and enjoy.
Once all settled and changed we were ready to hit Epcot for some food, the phone rang right as we were leaving and it was Kristyn calling to check on us and see if we were OK. I told her everything was fabulous. She then went on to say that because of the troubles earlier in the day, she would like to pay for our dinner this evening. I told her that was so nice, but we weren’t going for dinner anywhere. She seemed shocked and was just like OH. I told her our plan was just to go snack around the marketplace booths in Epcot, she said that sounds like fun, and she would put a credit on our room and to have a nice evening!!!!! Now is she just fantastic or what???? Just the fact she even cared to help in the first place, then to call back with that. We set off, and went and did just as she told us…………..had a nice evening!!!
I promise you, that would be the end of any hiccups along the way, well aside from the rain

Look, he only volunteered "after" they were calm It is always stressful flying with kids, that's why I come on board with them like a drug store filled with snacks, games, toys etc......and nothing for myself

I have to say, even though you seem to always have problems on day one of your trips, they kind of seem worth it, as they get worked out and then some! Boo to the first CM and YAY for all the Kristins out there!
