Twas The Night Before Disney...(TR 12/2 - 12/9) - Page 5 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party was just getting ready to start.
When it started we were in the back of the park and the crowds were minimal. We walked on to sooo many rides in a matter of minutes it was great!! It was about 7:30 and I knew the parade was going to start at 8:15 so I started to panic that we wouldnt get a good spot....On the way over to Main Street we saw Wendy and Peter Pan - they had no line so we stopped to say Hi!!
This is off the topic but as you can see Sam is wearing a Chewbacca hat - He usually HATES hats - when we were at DHS on Sunday he saw this hat and grabbed it - he has been wearing it ever since!! lol - I have to take it off of him when falls asleep. Too funny.
Ok back on the party....We got over near Main Street - WOW!!! I couldnt believe all of the snow!! Josh was going nuts when he saw it. We had seen snow over at DHS but it wasnt nearly as much as here. It was very Magical to watch Josh Dancing in the snow!! Now we were trying to find a good spot but all the curb spots were taken so I found an area where there was only 1 row of people and we got behind them.....
About 5 minutes before the parade the CM's started to check wristbands and guess who didnt have any??? Yep the family in front of us - The CM's told them they would be escorted to the exit - they all said their wristbands fell off - lol - good one. Anyhow this gave us the chance to slide right up front - NICE!!!!!
The parade was starting - WOW what an awesome parade!!! This was by far my most favorite parade I have ever seen anywhere!!! Here are some pics!!
SNOW!!!
The parade was over but we figured we would hang in our spot -
Magic,Memories and you was coming then Holiday wishes. The fireworks were AWESOME!!! We loved them!!
After the fireworks over more than half of the park seemed to be heading to the Exits - we decided to head the other way!! Josh wanted to ride BTRR again so we went back there - My hubby was happy because some of the Counrty Bears were out so we stopped for a picture with them. He loves the Country Bears.
I couldnt believe when we got back there that there wasnt too many people back there. We rode BTRR several times in a row!! We hit a few more rides and stopped several times for the free juice, Cocoa and cookies
We decided to get ready to head out but the next parade was starting so we watched it again!! Then headed out. We got on the first boat back to MK and was in bed about 12:30am,,,,We decided to cancel our breakfast ADRs for the following morning and sleep in....
I loved the MVMCP. We went to the MNSSHP last year and I thought I loved that but I like this much more!! I will be back again one year

Today we decided to sleep in a bit since we were out so late. Good thing too because Josh and Rob both slept past 9:30...Sam and I were still up early though. It was nice though not having to rush out the door. We went down to WCC for some breakfast at about 10:20. We had the All you can eat skillet again By the time we got out of there and started heading to Epcot it was about 12:30 ish. We decided to cancel our ADR at Via Napoli too - we were all stuffed and didnt want to run right back there to eat. I called on the bus and they cancled it for me.
When we got to Epcot the first thing I wanted to do was find the Leave a Legacy tile my brother had gotten done years ago. He got one with him and my SIL and one right next to it for my Mom who had passed away. She was a Disney nut too. It says that a piece of her will always be in Disney, I did get a little emotional when I found it .
We went in and headed right over to Soarin, Living with the Land, Nemo etc...
We stopped to admire the tree.
Then headed over to Test Track....When we got out of Test Track I noticed the sky changing,,Figures I have been carrying three bags with us this entire trip 1) Diaper bag 2) Bag with Ponchos 3) Bag with a heavy hoodie for all of us....Well since the weather has been soooo nice today I only decided to bring bag 1!! It was early still about 4 and we had ADRs at LE Cellier for 7 so I knew we had to stay there....I wound up Buying Sweatshirts and Ponchos for everyone...Yep Disney LOVES people like me in rainy days!! The rain never got bad but it was windy and chilly!!
We walked around the WS to kill some time.
At 6:30 we watched the band Off Kilter for a bit - The kids enjoyed jumoing around to the music. Then we headed over to Le Cellier. We all loved our food,
For an Appy I had the soup ofcourse.
Rob had the Lobster Salad - him and Josh loved it!!
Dont forget about the yummy bread!!!
Rob and I both had the Filets and it was soooo good it melted in my mouth!! I forgot to take a pic because I just dug right in.
For dessert I had the Chocolate Trio - it was good and Josh had the Chocolate Moose....
After we headed back to the Resort. Again we had a terrible bus ride back. I hate riding the busses at night - For the second time this trip my 5 year old Special Needs son and my 7 year old had to stand the entire bus ride when there were plenty of young men sitting on their butts. I and my Hubby have given up our seats numerous times for young kids....Just a classless thing I think.. Josh almost fell over and trying to Hold Sam up was a chore!! But at least it was a rather quick ride and we made it back ok.
Once we got back to the room we soon realized that we can see the fireworks from MK from our room. We got to watch Holiday wishes again from our room!! Nice -
We have another early ADR tomorrow in
MK so off to bed I go...
Tomorrow is our last Day already Time goes by way too fast here!!
We also decided NOT to go to LEgolad on Friday, I think the kids are whooped!! We will just be heading home. But I wont think about that until tomorrow night.
All of your pics have really made me decide on a November/December trip - now I just have to figure out when and change our reservation! Can't wait to hear more....
What an awesome trip you are having, love the pictures from MVMCP, we did the party a few years ago and the parade is awesome.
Yes it sure is awesome!! I loved it!!

Its hard to believe that today was our last day here. Time goes by way to fast here!!!
We had a great day today at MK. My camera for some reason doesnt want to upload onto my laptop...speaking of laptop did
I tell you the WIFI is free now here?? I love it!! Any whoo - I will post pictures once we get home. But for now....
We woke up early and headed out to MK about 7:30. We had an ADR at CRT for 8. The boat came about 7:45 and by the time we got to the parl they were starting the Rope Drop (Early EMH). I had never seen it so it was neat to see and hear it lol. We made it to the Castle and I turned and snapped a pic - You can see the line of people walking down Main St. I think its a great pic but will post it when I can...
Breakfast was great. We have eaten here a few other times and they have changed their breakfast menu. The used to give you an all you can eat meal and you couldnt pick....Now you have to pick what you want and they didnt offer more - we didnt want more anyway.... After we hit the rides.
It was pretty empty still - walk on to most rides!! Nice!! It started to get more crowded about 10 but it still wasnt too bad.
We stopped for a Mickey Pretzel about 12. We got them right outside the Country Bears - I have heard they are dry but we really enjoyed our and it wasnt dry at all.
We hot some more rides then decided to hop on the monorail and head over to Poly. We ate some lunch and Capt Cooks. It was ok. I liked the Dole Whip machine there Sam wasnt to happy there so it made for a stressful meal!!
After we decided to catch the boat to MK then boat to WL. We played in the arcade for a bit because I promised my son we would.
It was quickly ADR time at WCC for dinner. We had a great meal. I had the Canyon Skillet but didnt eat much of it.
After dinner we headed over to MK for the Wishes Dessert Party. There didnt seem to be as many dessert choices as the last time I went...They also were empy most of the time - I even went up a few times and there were no plates or cups. The lady said usually they can keep up but for some reason tonight they werent. It was still good though. I love seeing Tink Fly right by!! And not having to fight for a spot for fireworks is great!! The fireworks ended about 8:15 and the park was closing at 9. We asked Josh what ride he wanted to ride for our "Last Ride". I thought for sure it would be Space Mt or BTRR - those are his two favs in MK....But he surprised me and said Pirates - He said he wanted this ride because he knows Sam doesnt like the other two and he wanted it to be a Family ride.....Good Boy
By the time we fought people traffic it was about 8:35, We got right on. As we were passing Jungle Cruise the CM asked us to ride - lol - we said sure!! It was there last ride for the night. The driver was really funny and Sam really enjoyed the ride.
We then headed out and hopped on the Boat to get back to WL. Once we got here I packed up most of our stuff and dreading the long ride home - Boo.....I think I mentioned before we were going to go to Legoland but decided not too. It was the right choice as we are all tired!!
Do I guess my next post will be when we are back in Jersey and I will upload some of my pictures from today!!!
Thanks for following along - It sure was fun updating dailiy.
