So This is What a Dream Tastes Like - Page 5 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Wonderful food TR! I just love the pics and descriptions! Quick question. Did everyone have a good view of crush or only those closest to the walls. My fear is that we'll be placed in the middle of the room and won't be able to see anything or interact w/ him.

I think most tables have a good view, but I'm trying to remember if the yahd screens in the middle too or not. I think they did.
I’m having a mind blank right now, but I think since we were 2nd seating dinner, our breakfast time was 7:45. I could be off by just a bit though.
We go there promptly, with carry ons in hand…only to wait with several others with carry ons. It appears 1st seating was running late. A good 15 minutes late.
Once they opened the doors it was kind of a free for all. They just said, do you remember where you sat last night…go there. Amazingly some people couldn’t remember at all…and I’m not talking about the people who went to Palo or Remy, I mean some people just plain forgot! I can say that because we remembered. LOL!
Brent was the first over to the table today. He took drink orders. Usually Srdjan did that. Claire started asking over and over and over….”where’s the guy who calls me Princess”. We told her we didn’t know, and maybe he wasn’t there today. She wasn’t to happy about that.
Then he showed up! And we had a happy girl. The first picture isn’t great, but you can see the little smirk on her face. Kind of like “I told you he was here”.
Srdjan gave Claire a hug and a kiss on the cheek and said good bye to her.
Breakfast then arrived
Claire got cereal (rice crispies, I believe) and a fruit plate.
Mom had waffles and bacon.
I had the Route 66 - scrambled eggs, bacon, grilled sausage, grilled ham and hash browns.
It was decent enough. Nothing fabulous, but Ok breakfast food. It wasn’t anything better than Cabanas had had.
We finished up, said our goodbyes and made our way off the ship. Very sad, but we still had more fun planned.
Oh wow, you're bringing back great memories of some wonderful food on the Dream! It's so cool to see those restaurants that we were enjoying just a couple of days ago.
Glad Claire got to say goodbye to Srdjan! She'll probably be looking for him whenever you cruise again.
I am glad too. She was worried when she didn't see him

It was decent. But just sitting in that dining room made it great.

We had made our way over to Pop Century and checked in. Mom and Dad went off to Animal Kingdom then. They had lunch there, but I don’t know where, or what.
Claire took a quick swim and then we headed off to Magic Kingdom.
After doing a few things she declared she was starving. One of those things that if you didn’t get food she would just die on the spot. I had wanted to eat at Columbia Harbor House or Pecos Bills, but we happened to be in Tomorrowland at that point and I knew we I had to get her food fast. We settled for Cosmic Rays. We like it there, but it’s just a place we go to all the time, so I wanted to branch out a bit.
We got in line at Bay 1, just randomly. I gave her some choices.
The place was packed. I was amazed how busy it was. I think it was after 2 at this point. We had to wait in line to order for a bit, the whole time I kept hearing a little voice telling me how hungry she was. Finally after a cashier change right when it was our turn, we ordered.
We were greeted by this friendly CM as we approached the counter to get our food.
Claire got the kids peanut butter and jelly with fries. I kind of said to myself…”why am I paying for PBJ on vacation?” But that’s OK, that’s what she wanted.
I went back and forth on what I wanted. The chicken dinner sounded really good, but I wasn’t THAT hungry. I finally settled on the Chicken nuggets with fries.
These were good as well, but way too much. I should’ve ordered the kids meal for myself. OR just got these and shared with Claire, but since she wanted PBJ, that didn’t work. I only ate about half of it. Claire ate about half of hers as well, along with one of my nuggets.
We watched Sonny perform. Claire loved this when she was 2 and danced to the music on our first MK night that trip. She didn’t even remember him this trip. I know we have been here since that 1st trip with her, but we might not have sat down by Sonny.
The cost of this meal was $16.37.
We had fun and soon were on our way back out for more MK fun in the crowded heat!

I do that a lot with Claire when we are are the dining plan at WDW. We will sometimes share a breakfast CS and then a lunch CS. I think by the time we got to WDW this trip we had eaten so much on the cruise that we weren't as hungry for the park food too. Two days we went without a lunch or a dinner. But we did have breakfast everyday too.
