A very cold New Years TR Dec27-Jan4th - UPDATED 7/11 - Page 5 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Lunch at Margaritaville, now you're speaking my language! That drink was definitely a margarita, it has a lime floating in it (trust me, I'm a pro) It's good to see you got a couple of rides in that day. It looked insane. I'll have to remember to bring my plug for my Iphone with me to the parks. I'm trying to keep track of where you're plugging in 'cause it has never occured to me to charge up during lunch breaks.
Finally got caught up with this trip report. What a delight to read and how fun!
More Please! also, do you have pics of the hotel room? would love the link to your review in Tripadvisor so that I make sure I do not stay there!

I love US/IOA. Great pictures of a great time. Margaritaville is one of my favorite places to have lunch there. We usually stay at the Hard Rock when we're in that neighborhood.
Looks like you girls had a great time. Glad to hear you're just going with the flow of the crowds, but it sounds like you're getting a decent amount done.

I thought it was then again, I was thinking Pina Colada, but that would not have salt! I now scout for plugs along the walls, in the restrooms, in the shops, lol , everywhere!

New Years Eve- Dec 31st 2009
Today I got to sleep in a bit, because I was smart and washed my hair the night before! We were going to need to be at Epcot by 7:30! Well we made it, after the really long line for bag check, Lisa went to wait in line for opening, but I said no, we have 8:05 ADR's in Norway we should be on the list to get in earlier. I went and ask the CM he said yes your party is on list so he let us through.
It was really neat seeing Epcot completely empty!
We made it to the podium on time got our picture with Belle, and were seated.
I ordered coffee,
and we went to get our food at the buffet line. They also brought out food for us too. I did not take pictures of it...I do not see any!
The Princesses finally came around to our table.
me and Aurora, who should be wearing the BLUE DRESS!
Me and Cinderella
Jen and Cinderella
Lisa and Cinderella
Me with Snow White who said I was the fairest in the land
Snow with Jen and Lisa
Me with Ariel, who called me starfish.. or something like that
We went back for seconds on the food, after all, we did not have our next ADR's till about 2pm at LC
After we finished up, we got our check, all $109.00 dollars of it!! SADLY, we could not get the TIW discount on this meal! And good thing our photo was included, it kinda makes you feel better!
We headed back to future world and got FP's for Soarin I THINK..but according to the photos we went on Ellens Universe of Energy
We never got on Test Track at all this trip, we will be making up for it in about 16 days though . After Ellen we headed to go find Nemo at least the line moves quickly for that.
I think after that,we headed to the land to get FP's for soarin.. We also got a snack in Sunshine Season, I had decided it was beer o'clock
Lisa is holding it so I can get a pic..
Our FP's would be ripe after our lunch at LC.
We took it easy today not worrying about what we would be able to ride and what we wouldn't thats why I love having AP's I always know I am coming back.
We wondered back over to WS and rode the Malestrom but while in line, we took self portraits!
Now it really irks me when someone see us then proceeds to ask us if they want to take our photo ... nice gesture but NO
WE DONT!! so to be nice,we always hand over the camera.. hey they did ask
and there ya go!
I really do love this ride, and we even stayed at the end to see the movie, which we never do.. only because we had about another 12 hrs of Epcot!
It was finally time for LC I was getting hungry. I always get so stuffed here, so I just ordered so called "light" things.. did not turn out to be that light...
the Garden
We got seated pretty quickly.
I found the beer menu
so many choices... so little time...
I got Molson since its Canada
I ordered the Cheddar Cheese soup, a Salad and a side of mashed potatoes! Of course we filled up on the pretzel bread!
Lisa and Jen had salads!
and this time I was determined to save room for the chocolate mousse since I never had it before!!
He was so cute, I hated to eat him but I did!
He was so yummy! After lunch we paid our check, then headed over to future world. We had about 1/2 hr till our FP's for Soarin were ripe, so we were a tired, and wanted to take a rest. We went into Innoventions and found lots of empty floor space, near a plug of course, so I could plug my phone in! We sat down on the floor and got really silly with the camera!
then I took a few with my iPhone and had fun with the Christmas app
I took about a ten minute nap, another ten would have been nice!
But our Soarin FP's were ripe, and we couldn't wait to soar over California!
Now you know how we entertain ourselves our in line, I had more fun with that Xmas iPhone app
Lisa-
haha! and heres Jen-
TOO FUNNY!!
After Soarin, we were let out the secret back door!
I actually got discombobulated and had no idea where we were!
but not to worry we found SSE and went on that!
and took mirror shots in line!
here is our future!
After knowing our future, we headed back over to World Showcase and went to see Donald on his boatride
but not before a nice cold relaxing beer
the tree, I was trying to be all artsy with pics.
we were taking a rest and plugging in our phones.
Jen and Lisa chatting away
I however sat over here, plugging my phone in
Wearing a hat too! lol
We had ADR's in Mexico for I think 7:45? that night, not really sure, so we just hung out there, rested our feet and waited.
We checked in and were seated
I always feel so crowded in there,I think the tables and chairs are way too close together.
Jen
I tried to get a clear shot of this- I usually never do
We had chips and salsa
YUM LOVE THIS!!
and I think I ordered some soup for dinner which I really enjoyed
and heres what Jen and Lisa got I have no idea, so I will say my usual, plate of stuff is what they had!
We were given hats and those god awful noise makers! they should be outlawed!
our hats!
After dinner was over and we paid our check, we walked around WS and staked our spot near England - for 2 reasons, Lisa and Jen are supposed to go to the UK this November and 2 The Rose & Crown outdoor pub! BEER IS NEAR!
Here is Jen getting goofy!
and some self portraits, the last of 2009!
Now here is ALL the fireworks pictures, and I really loved how they lit up all the counties one by one but I only have England
and now the fireworks
They came out much better with my phone
HAPPY NEW YEAR
We waited till the crowds somewhat thinned out before we attempted to go!
As we left,we saw SSE looking so pretty
So this concludes our day of being up for nearly 20 hrs!
Coming up- The Magic Kingdom and does it rain on us all day?
